This is by far the worst restaurant/diner whatever the hell you want to call it that I have ever been to! I ordered chili cheese fries, and the chili was extremely old and runny. Plus, the meat wasn't fully cooked! On top of that, the cheese came out of a squirting tube you would put on crackers when you were 5. If that wasn't enough, the service was unbelievably horrible and I had to wait 20 minutes just to get a refill on soda! A few customers came in way after my boyfriend and I and they were served first. I would not ever come back here again! Even as we left the manager on duty told us to just go and that we didn't owe anything! Now that's when you know the restaurant is horrible.

We ate there at about 10 PM last night and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our party had foot long hot dogs and foot long corn dogs as well as some cheese fries. The man behind the counter was working by himself but he did a wonderful job and was very friendly. The only thing I disagree with is charging for the first refill on drinks. We will be going back.

Stopped in Sam's Corner in July of 2013. The footlong hot dogs was the smallest hotdog I every seen. It was thick as my little finger. We laughed our rear ends off and took picture and sent them to our friends. My wife had a cheeseburger and my son had a crab cake sandwich which they said was really good but very pricey. For our 6 party bill, we could have gone to a buffet. Fool me once, but never twice. Had to pay for beverage refills too. The place was a little dirty and had to clean our own table.

lived here for 35 years sam's use to be good on the go now it's all about the money. The owner needs to get with it and serve a BETTER! product and get rid of the employees, hire siomeone with some sense! For what they charge you should get a two foot hot dog with all the trimmings. A stadium dog in Dallas at the air port is only 5.95 get with the program. 2 ft longs 1 fry and a water $13.50 WHAT?

Last year on our annual golf trip in October we went to Sams on tuesday night as always. The place was filthy dirty and person working belonged at Dicks Last Resort.Price increase a little too much to hanle. the hot dogs looked very greasy. Wake up Sam, you lost 15 to 20 good customers in October that had been eating in your place for the last 15 yrars. We will not return to your dump because it has gown down the hill. good luck locals.

Yep I felt like puking. Dont go...u will be sorry. I paid $6.00 for nothing. Should have gone to walmart to get one. Got to go the hot dog is coming up. Fries horrible also, very cold and nasty..

Just noticed that their printed receipts request information on your visit! Service is non-existent.. you place order at counter and that's it.... pay 1.85 for 14oz soda and refills are .55 still??? you gotta be kidn me? I had 2 Footlongs, Fries and coke w/refill (over 13.00)... I agree w/some of other reviews that cleanliness is issue. Looks like cameras all over to obviously make sure owner is getting money (thus the reason for only accepting order at register vrs table service)... I would think the owners would see no service, no cleanliness etc?

Ive been living in myrtle beach for a few years and sams corner is really hit or miss. They're usually pretty good to the regulars and are always really nice. Even though they are extremly overpriced and a lot of the stuff is so greasy it makes you sick. Me and my boyfriend go hear a few times a month because we live around the corner... and even after living off of McDonalds this shit still hurts my stomach. Its always pretty good people watching. Open late, closley located, feels like a good ol' dinner that I miss about home. except a rip

Been going to sam's forty years and at one time it was "primo" things have gone down hill over the years seems like service is hrrible and the food mediocre to say the least,, it's never been the cleanest place in the world it is a joint at the beech..seems like after reading the reviews the would clean up thier act..i can make a lame excuse for thier prices in a way,, myrtle beach area(including garden city) has extremely excessive taxes.... These have to be passed on to the consumer and the only thing we can do is vote those people out of office, that impose them...

We go to Sam's for the hot dogs every year. The food last night was only average and our waitress should have been working at Dick's Last Resort instead. She was very cranky and did not leave a good impression with the person in our party who had never been there before. I was so disappointed. Unfortunately, we will not recommend our friends go there again :(

I went to this establishment...I'm sorry...this hole in the wall to place an order for a good burger. It was really early in the morning and I travelled about 15 for one of their burgers. Needless to say, when I got their I was encountered by this rude, pasty mean old lady who had the customer service skills of a baboon. She was really nasty in trying to answer my questions and seemed a little bias. The burger wasn't the best....and the restaurant wasn't all that clean either. I wouldn't return here if I was dying and their food contained life saving oxygen!

We were in Myrtle Beach on vacation and ran across this place, we thought it would be a great place to eat. My grandson was with us and likes hot dogs his name is also Sam. We got some cool pictures of him there, but as far as the food, one of the worst hod dogs I ever had. You look in you bun and say where is the meat. They are over priced and the soda was $1.85 for mostly ice and they want to charge 55 cents for a refill. Poor Poor will never eat there again.

I have been to Myrtle Beach multiple times and always wanted to stop at Sam's, so did this past trip. We got the hot dogs and fries to go as we were heading home to NC. They were quite good and we are probably going back tomorrow for a day-trip and bring some home. It isn't steak but it is a good slice of Americana.

Went to Sam's Corner in Myrtle Beach to taste the world's best hot dog. I have to say it was as bad a hot dog as I've ever eaten. The price was extremely high. Three hot dogs to go, all the way, were $9.05 (tax included). Needless to say, I will never go to Sam's corner again. Terrible, terrible, terrible.....one for each hot dog!!!

I love to go to Sams Corner for their hot dogs. The best part was the ones taking my order. During the day it was Teresa, who always had a smile on her face, and at night it was a guy I think he is called Ed. He always has a joke for me. I will be back just to see them. The hot dogs are a little pricey.

Since we moved in the area 5 months ago, we've been coming to Sam's Corner every Sunday for breakfast.

Sylvia, who welcomes you and takes your order at the counter, is a sweetie. We look forward to see her every week. She brings us coffee with a smile and we just love her.

Salomon does the best brekfast in town. He is just so nice too!

All in all, it is the best place to have breakfast. Feels like home away from home.

Sam's Corner in Myrtle Beach has really fell off. Myself and my sister were on the side of the road throwing up minutes after eating there. They were rude, and dirty looking people working there. They kicked a group of guys out just for being a little loud. There was a rusty air conditioning vent leaking water into one of the food trays that was filled with food. I used to like the Ocean burger until it ruined my stomach for 2 days.

You can add this to any of Baker's resturants. It is amazing that anyone in food service would stoop so low to have cheap sub-humans cook and serve to unsuspecting tourists that for some reason believe they are getting clean and fresh uncontaminated food without contamination. No one checks or audits Sam's business. What a shame.

We were told by a friend this was the BEST place to get a hot dog...but I don't think so. I chose the Italian sausage sandwich. The peppers & onions came out of a freezer already chopped but it was an OK sandwich. Two of my three grandchildren and son got the hot dogs. Tasted like a Target dog, nothing special. My oldest grandson chose the "Elvis special"..."grilled PB & J". Sorry folks, false info. His fav was a PB & banana sandwich and I never heard if he liked it grilled! I doubt we'll go back.

On our first trip to M.B. I asked where do I go for the best footlong? I was told Sam's. Are you kidding? the worst footlong and if this place was the best I would hate to see the worst. Dirty, rude and the filth was everywhere. Stayed two weeks never went back and never will. I told the guy who suggested the place to me about my experience and he was surprised although he has not been at Sam's for awhile. Sad that people buy a famous place and let the place go to H_ _ l. Opportunity for someone else to open great footlong joint. Look out Sam's we are moving to M.B. soon.

Food was mediocre at best...nothing that you couldn't get at your average gas station. As a local I have visited this establishment on more than one occasion and have been disappointed each time. On both occasions I have been informed that they were not serving beer at the time and the soft drinks cost for the refills. As a service industry employee of the area I can say that this place is one of the worst on the beach...if you are from out of town don't waste your time and if you are looking for late night food you are better off at waffle house.

Sams Corner as a born and raised beach girl, has always been a great place to go and grab a late night hot dog, a order of fries, maybe a beer, or some of that dank fruit punch. Tonight, as well as the past handfull of times I have been there, I have been treated like I was a bother for the employees while they were smoking their ciggerattes leaning on the liquor case. I asked for a drink without ice and once she filled the entier cup up with ice, she then told me that she would refill it again for me later for free. My friend ordered cheese fries, and a side of ranch, and after recieving his fries with absloultly no cheese sauce nor ranch dressing, he was then charged for the sauces. 75 cents EACH. Asking for light onions on your hotdog never once meant cover the whole hot dog in onions did it? So as far as the food being horrible I wanted my fruit punch refilled and the white headed crypt keeper then looked at me and said $2.05. Furious I walked out of there and will never return. As I mentioned before I was born and raised on Sams Corner and if there is any hope for them to revive their local service industry customers, I would suggest a new late night staff. I work in this industry and have never seen someone with such a negative and bitter attitude.

This used to be the place for a foot-long dog, fries and a "cold one", but this place has changed and not for the good. A foot-long is now $4.50. Soft drink refills are no longer free. In the past you could order, eat then pay. Now they make you pay up front. I guess that is to prevent you from complaining on how bad the food is. I used to go every time I was in Myrtle Beach, but now I will only go when McDonald's or Wendee's is closed.

I am a true "Native" of S.C. and have watched Sam's through Hurricanes, to different owners, through summertime loves, through grandpas that have passed, babies being born and so forth. It holds a true place in my heart. I have watched it for 35 years. It has changed though. For the worst! SC Is about hospitality. Where are these people from that work there now? Why are they so so so very rude. I know they have to work there, but for God's sake, a smile would not hurt you. And why is it now 25 bucks for two dogs and two beers..10oz I might add. I still love the smells and the oldies that are always playing. And as someone mentioned before...the lady who is at the cash register needs to realize PEOPLE are the ones who have kept Sams standing over all these years. I still love the hotdogs, but was dissappointed and badly treated the last time. As much money as I have spent there over the years I probably should have a thank you wall dedicated to my family. Anyway...enough said. The place is like a family member who has went ary. You still love-em anyway.

This was the first time that i have ever been to sams. i ordered the hot dog with cole slaw, coney sauce, mustard, and hot sauce. it was very very good. as far as the service it was alright i have no complaints except that the people need to learn some english and stop hitting on their customers. the atmosphere was great it was a nice little place to have near the beach. but it was a bit dirty looking...this could possibly be from the grease. it was very expensive in my opinon. but all in all i enjoyed my food and went there multiple times.

I have been going to sams for 25 yrs, and I will tell you the original people who worked there that made this place a fun place to sit and drink all day sometimes are no longer there, Tom, Mark, Larry, WHERE ARE YOU????? now its a bunch of non american speaking dirty looking people working there, Sam needs to get a grip and think of more then $$$$ because keeping customers is $$$$$$,, I would still go as I love the food and its close to where we always stay but to sit for hrs and drink and party and eat like we use to, we dont any more and its sad, was great to do this on a cloudy and rainy day..

I was dissappointed after visiting Sam's Corner. Since it was late, hardly anyone was in the place. The hotdogs looked like they were lying on the grill for way too long! No one was interested in taking our order. I guess we picked a bad time to try someplace new.

After years of loyal patronage, I've had my last Sam's hotdog. The quality is well below average, the place is dirty and the prices are outrageous. I took my wife and son on the most recent trip. $25.00 for 2 footlongs, 1 regular dog, 2 cheese fries, 1 water & 2 iced teas. I could have gotten a better hot dog at a gas station. Never again!!

We visit Myrtle Beach every year and Sam's Corner is one of the places that we go to every day. We were there on January 27, 2007 to reserve our room for the Bike Festival coming up in May, 2007. I ordered a double cheeseberger, onion rings, and ice tea. All of that came up to $8.98. Some may think this is expensive but to me its not. Plus you get free refills on the ice tea. Every time we go it seems like the same people are working so they know our faces by now LOL!! Can't wait to hit Sam's Corner again!!

The sign said $2.75 for a regular hotdog so I thought I would order one to go to see if it was worth it. Then he said it would be $3.50 and I asked how much it was. And he said $2.75 for the hot dog plus tax and then a surcharge for carry out. And not very friendly he looked at me like I was wrong for asking, but the sign said nothing about being charged for walking out the door with your food. Very disappointed and will not go back ever but that is just me.

What a shame that Sam's has deteriorated to this level. It was once THE late night dog and burger place with big juicy hot dogs and the famous 5 cent cup of coffee. Now, you could buy a full steak dinner for the same price that they charge for a cut-rate skinny dog (one of those cheap RED things), an order of fries and a cup of coke over a LOT of ice. Didn't get enough soda to wash down the lousy dog? Be prepared to lay out another $1.50 for a refill. The majority of the current staff looks like they could use a long shower and they act like it's just too much trouble to take your order - not to mention being polite about it! Sorry, Sam's, buy a mop, clean up your restaurant, your employees, your menu AND your service. You've sunk too low for me! Even after a couple or three beers!

This was the first time to hit the Sam's at Myrtle Beach. Had been at the one in Garden City before quite a few times over the past years. Same great food. Cost was a little on the high side for a "dog " joint. Didint get to find out about the no refill policy, had a bottle drink. If that is the case they are one of the last not offering refills. That is one of the things that keeps me coming back to places. Service was ok - the lady at the counter was helpful with what came with what on it. The Myrtle Beach store still dosent have the same old feeling that the one in Garden City has. But I think I'll go to the one in Garden City next time.

After waiting for the lady that looks like she would be in the corner of a bowling alley smoking a pack of marlboro reds to acknowledge our presence we ordered 3 regular sized hot dogs 1 fry and 2 cokes for 15 bucks... unbelievable. Then had to pay for a refill, which by the way everyone doesn't have to do b/c shortly after my 1.49 refill another guy came up, got a refill and actually got a smile out of the lady with no charge for the drink. Even after paying the 1.49 for the refill she refilled it with the wrong soda. Don't waste your time with this place, the food really isn't that great and I love hot dogs.. I travel all over just for a good hot dog and will not add this place to my list of favorites.

Sam's used to be a place where one could get a great meal for a good price, not anymore. The last time I went the hotdog was not good and you had to pay extra for refills. That is crazy considering you just dropped all that money on a bad meal. If you want a hotdog you might as well go get one from a gas station, it will be just as good and a bunch cheaper.

The best hotdogs I've ever had. I travel and eat out a lot and don't always have to eat somewhere fancy. This is the type of small diner I would like to own. if I lived in MyrtleBeach. I could see myself waking up at 2,3,or 4am just to go to Sams Corner. Once I ate two footlongs and an order of fries and a steak sandwich, and went right back the next day. At Sams they even take time to lightly toast the bun which also makes a difference.

For a place that says they have the best hot dogs in town, a reality check is far overdue! The hot dogs were thin, the prices were inflated, and the staff were far from hospitable. I don't want to pay for a refill, I don't want to pay extra for relish, and I do want a smile now and then! Avoid Sam's and get a hot dog elsewhere!

My family has bee going to Garden City and Sam's for over 30 years. It was once an icon, but the original cast, owner Sam and family have obviously departed and left behind a dirty, expensive, disappointing shell of it's former. What a shame, a 'footlong, fries, and a cold beer' were once tradition. I can go anywhere and suffer rude help, filth, subpar food, and smell redneck sweat. But I choose to eat where I can pay the going rate f food, the staff speaks English, and has pride and tradition are stamped on the menu. Adios Sam's!

I have been going to Garden City for the family friendly atmosphere for 6 years now. This past year I was astounded to be told that it'd cost me an extra $1.50 for a refill on a drink that was all ice in the first place!!!!

The food there is ok but it is NOT so good as to make up for nothing to drink unless you spend a fortune. The quality of the food does vary greatly according to which crew is there working. We stay easy walking distance from Sam's Corner and it's a pity they ticked me off like they did. I don't think I'll be back.

I was very surprised on my last visit to be told that after paying $1.49 for a coke that I had to pay another $1.49 for a refill. YOU MUST BE CRAZY. This has to be the WORST hotdog we have ever eaten. Plus they charge you 50 cents if you want relish on your hot dog! The hotdog was about the size of a pencil and the bun was hard. We had heard from a couple of people about this place and thought we would try it. WHAT A MISTAKE! Do not go here for hotdogs! I don't know about the other food and I guess we will never know cause we are not going back. Bottom line - POOR POOR POOR!

Last year I ate at Sam's corner more often then any other place on the beach I think.. That may seem a little odd considering all the different places to eat, but what put Sam's Corner above most others is that they are open 24 hours a day, so when I got hungry at around 2am it was no problem riding to Sam's and getting a hot dog and fries. They definitely deserve to be ranked one of the best on convenience alone, not to mention the food is great!

We visit MB every year and we always hit Sam's corner. Diner type atmosphere, but the hot dogs are great! The kids will like it. Coldest beer in town for sure. (It didn't hurt that the last time we were there, my friend won 100.00 on a scratch off lottery ticket she bought there.)
