Very good fish sandwich and possibly the best burger that I've ever had in a restaurant. Great atmosphere for evening dining outside. We ate there when there was a full moon over the ocean and it couldn't have been more perfect with the ocean waves crashing beneath the pier.

We had wanted to try the Pier again after an earlier venture there a few years ago. No waiting for a table. Attentive server (Brian) and excellent food and brews. The view is spectacular. We'll be back again for lunch and or dinner or both.

On my vacation to myrtle every year in July I eat at the pier. I love it. I eat there everyday at lunch time on my vacation. I like to dine alone so I dont really know what others think, but from reading the other reviews I dont understand them. Its not a high class restarant but it has a wonderful view and i find the food to be wonderful. Im a 19 year old female from north carolina. I find it having very homey feel. It is a family business so you exspect a wonderful atmosphere. For the ones who do go, get there kinda early for the lunch time rush or all of the balconey tables will be gone.

Can not recommend. Had a bad experience there with shell fish (gone bad!) and won't be back. Hey...if you're not going to maintain the shellfish, don't carry it and definately don't serve it! That's a health risk!

Their other food maybe fine...but serving bad oysters to customers makes you wonder about their judgement and what else is happening in that kitchen that we don't know about.

For a drink and the view okay. But, I won't eat there again. Beware!

My daughter and I travel here each spring for cheer competitions and we never leave without having dinnner at Pier 14 at least once. It's never been greasy. We've never gotten ill from it. I don't know what these other people are talking about. I love it. The food is awesome.

The menu claimed "the best burger in MB" so I asked the waitress and she said everything was good. I order my burger med well and it was burnt and the bun was stale. Ate it anyway. My son's quesadilla and my husband's Prime Rib sandwich were good but nothing above average. Restaurant was very noisy (there around 3:30pm).

The wife and I ate here twice. Once for dinner & once for lunch. It is located on the ocean, the view is great. It has a casual & relaxed atmosphere. The food is great. For dinner I had the grouper crustacean & wife had tuna steak. Both were fantastic. Although the sauce for the grouper was almost too much. The tuna steak was grilled to perfection and delicious. For lunch we both had the fish sandwich. It was a local fish served with fries. The portion was generous and delicious. The service both times was excellent.

We were in town for a couple evenings and found the Pier 14 on our first evening there - thought what a great view, sitting at the end of the pier -- maybe we would try their breakfast - 7 to11AM. While we hadn't taken the time to look for reviews, we thought, "anyone can cook an egg." What a mistake. I had Eggs Benedict and my wife went simple with a one-egg scramble with ham and rye toast. Everything was cold and had been prepared in advance. The coffee was poor quality and weak and the rye toast was Wonder Bread style. The waitress was kind and took great care of us but the food quality sunk the ship. We left a similiar review at the restaurant - not sure they read them though. Wouldn't even trying their dinner menu. I would take in the view but skip the restaurant.

My time was good but no puppies, that sucks, flounder was kinda heavy in grease. Roadhouse better on 17 scallops was very good. And shrimp no big deal. Slaw was above avg. And fries good too. Service was good and view was great. Could be better but could be worse. Others places are better. But view was great. Real beach feel. So is damons..

As a tradition, my husband and I eat lunch at Pier 14 every year on our last day at Myrtle Beach. I order the fried shrimp plate and he orders the fried flounder plate. Both are very tasty dishes and good portion size for the price. And what a great view! If you take the time to fill out the survey given with your bill, they'll mail you a $10 off postcard in the mail. We use it every year, so our bill isn't usually over $10 anyway. We also go right when they open, so there’s never a wait and never a large crowd. Enjoy.

This was one of my worst dining experiences ever!! The manager was totally unprofessional and could have cared less. We waited over 3 1/2 hours for our food only to be told there was a computer glitch and we might not even get our food. Then to top it all off, she only gave us 30% off of our entrees (which were cold) and nothing off of the apps (which we waited 1 1/2 hrs for.) I will never step foot in this restaurant again!! From other complaints I've read, that manager deserves to be fired!

I ordered the shark bites and cheese sticks, they were very good. But the time it took to wait, we could've fixed 5 meals in our hotel and ate them all in that time. I threw lemons off the pier during my wait. The waitresses were nice [ummm, not b/c im white...b/c i was nice and polite to them] but the 15% tip was a little overrated. I mean, i didnt pay, my gradparents did, but still. I dont think we plan on going back next year to est, but the view on the back deck and the suv. shop is great...a little expensive, but good. Umm, the slushy man at the end of the peir when u first get on is awsome, and they taste great, but not great enough to pay $4. They play awsome music there too...a little of everything. But if you are the type to listen to LIVE bands, i'd sit inside. Theres also a bar, but im too young to drink. I like swinging on the pole on the top where the gates close, its pretty fun, but my mom makes me get down. well, i love myrtle beach, and pier 14 is awsome, if u have a long enough temper.

If they still serve it, try the Chicken Crustacean, the best chicken dish ever created, I promise...at least it was the last time I ate it. Great garlic-mashed potatoes. Pleasing rustic, over-the-water atmosphere. Hard to find nearby parking...I usually park one block to the west parallel to Ocean Blvd. and walk over. The last time I was there, the live entertainment was enjoyable and unobtrusive until you were ready to pay attention.

My husband and I just left Myrtle Beach and stayed at the Yacthsman Resort for a week. We had numerous food and drink at Pier 14 and loved it. For the most part, the service was great, the food was excellent, and the view, well that goes without comment. The prime rib was awesome and the tuna steak was done to perfection. The prices were extremely reasonable for a restaurant located on the ocean. The gift shop was interesting with all the NFL, Collegiate and Nascar stuff...

We had always wanted to try this place after seeing it advertised on Beach TV for many years. We found ourselves in the area at breakfast and decided to try it out. Being the offseason, there were only 3 other couples in the place. We waited at the hostess stand for several minutes before a passing employee told us to "grab a menu and sit wherever." We dug around the place through lunch and dinner menus until somebody finally gave us the right ones, and we still had to seat ourselves.

The waitress acted like she was on another planet. First she brought orange juice that was rancid, and I had to track her down to get something else to drink to wash the taste out of my mouth. When she brought our entrees, she dropped a piece of my wife's bacon, and said she'd bring another piece. We were all but finished with breakfast when she showed up with the ONE piece of bacon. we waited so long on the check that we finally had to go up to the hostess stand and wait for someone to show up to check us out. After running down the frazzled waitress, I noticed she had charged for the spoiled juice and replacement soda. We figured it was easier to cut our losses.

All that being said, the actual food was very good. I had an omelet and homefries that was excellent. I would like to give this place a second chance based on the food and awesome oceanfront view. But I wonder if it would be worth braving the staff.

If I could have it shipped home, I would. The staff in the bar were excellent and let us stay there until 4:30am celebrating my 40th birthday. Most memorable birthday I have ever had thanks to Pier 14 and there staff. I go back there every chance I get.

Had lunch one day at the Pier. Shark bites and crab wrap, both were very good. The mudslide wasn't bad either. Went back for dinner one night, not too crowded as we were there during the off season. Service was good although he seemed a little "busy" even though the place wasn't. All of our meals were served promptly, hot and tasty. We stayed at the Yachtsman, so the convenience was appreciated.

I will never again eat at that restaurant as long as I live. My experience there has really opened my eyes quite a bit. For starters we were seated quickly but our waitress was somewhat agitated with us from the beginning.(Ummmm.. could it be that we were black). The whole time at the restaurant we saw our waitress one time and that was to bring the tab and then they charged us 15% in tips. I would not recommend this spot to anyone. The service was horrible and the food was not all that great. The only thing that appealed to me was the setting. The waitress could have cared less if her service was great because she gets her tip regardless. So if you want to be treated with respect DO NOT EAT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We love eating lunch at the Pier. Since we stay at the Yachtsman every year it is really convenient. You can't sit out on the beach without smelling the fabulous aroma coming from the Pier! If you go there you have to have the shark bites and loaded potato skins for appetizers. I had the crabcake sandwich which was excellent. For lunch you can just walk in off the beach, but you need to "dress" for dinner.

Great Myrtle Beach atmosphere looking at the surf rolling in as you eat. Very good service and my wife said her flounder was some of the best she had ever had. My oysters, fish, and crab combination were above average. The one big downer for me was that they didn't offer hush puppies. I mean, what are you thinking? You're a seafood restaurant in Myrtle Beach. Where are the hush puppies and honey butter? Salad was kind of on the low end, too. At any rate, I'm sure we'll be eating there next trip to the beach, because of the atmosphere, service, and seafood.

We always eat Dinner/Lunch at Pier 14 each year we vacation on the strand. The food is just awesome especially the Prime Rib! The atmosphere is fantastic sitting over the ocean while enjoying the food or a cold beverage. They have a new policy that if anyone from your party wants to order off the lunch menu... you must be seated outside in the hot sun or sit at the bar on these high bar stools. For a handicapped individual in our party, neither was an option. The hostess was firm and would not seat us in the dinning room until we all agreed on ordering off the dinner menu. It's all about the dollar I guess, other than that Pier 14 is an exceptional restaurant!

My wife and I just ate here yesterday evening and the food and service were outstanding. I'd say the average meal is about $14.. and after spending all week at the "great deal" buffets Pier 14 put them all to shame and it was much tastier and cheaper! Afterwards we went next door to the gift shop. Now being a guy I'm not really into gift shops but this place was really awesome.. it had a tiki feel to it and Elvis was on the stereo singing "my way" Anyway I met a great guy "Brian" at the counter who sold me an ice cold brewski as my wife was shopping around. Normally I would not fall into that "trap" but their prices were much lower than anywhere else we seen and their stuff was better quality so I didn't mind, besides the beer was really cold lol. I went here again this morning fishing and caught 3 flounder a bluefish and something called a ladyfish. Beside the sunburn I had a blast! I would reccommend Pier 14 to anyone.

I have been to Pier 14 many times over the years while visiting Myrtle Beach. There is nothing better than sitting out over the ocean at high tide, eating a Pier 14 Shrimp and Crab sandwich and drinking an ice cold beer! See you in June!!
