Review: This is by far my favorite restaurant in Myrtle Beach, and we will continue to go back every year. The manager is awesome, decor is great and service and food were wonderful. I have been to most of the Myrtle Beach restaurants, and this is my favorite.

Review: I have been going to Myrtle Beach every July for the past 20 years. This year, we tried the Palmetto Grill. This restaurant is now my absolute favorite. The staff and management is AWESOME, the food is incredibly delicious, and the atmosphere is beautiful. The prices were not high, compared to other restaurants in the area, they are up to par. For those comparing it to Fuddruckers, they are two completely different types of restaurants. If you want a great meal, with attentive servers and excellent food, this is the place to be. We love it.

Review: The building and decor is beautiful. The food and attitude is not so good. I am a local and live very close to Palmetto Grill. The first time my husband and I visited, I got the ribs which really were very good, my husband got a burger, which was not!? He isn't a picky eater at all, so - how can a restaurant mess up a burger so bad? However, the server was very good. Second visit - my pasta was average at best, my husband was quite excited about what was listed as a "Chef's Specialty" - a seafood lasagna with crab, shrimp, lobster, etc. While waiting on our food, we noticed there were multiple areas where water was dropping from the ceiling - not air vents - the ceiling tiles - onto the empty tables and floor around us. When we got our food, the "specialty" was FROZEN in the middle - not cool, but still frozen! When we told the waiter, he took it, put it in the microwave and had another gentleman bring it back. He put it on the table and said "it should be warm this time". No manager offered to speak with us, no apology, nothing. It wasn't even good when it was warm. We left with more than half of our food on our plate and will NEVER go back. Which really is a shame since it is the closest restaurant to our neighborhood.

Review: It took over two hours to get our food. The waitress was nice and understanding but kitchen manager was very rude. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Review: May 11, 2006 My wife, daughter and myself went to the Palmetto Grill by chance. We were in the mood for prime rib and found several other NMB spots over priced. We were a little hesitant to try this place since we knew no one that had been here prior. Following is our experience: Hostess was attentive and friendly- The waiter was very prompt and professional- Salads were cold and crisp with excellent dressings- Bread was fresh and warm and the butter was sweet- Drinks were cold and very well made- Prime rib was melt in your mouth quality, cooked exactly as requested by each of us- Baked potatos were cooked perfectly and loaded with toppings- Dessert was offered but there was no room left!!- Cost was $56. and change after we used our MB VIP card- We will be back in September and we WILL eat here again!!!

Review: Awful! We are so surprised to see that this place is still in business. We went with friends and family last summer and had a horrible experience. After being seated for over an hour, the waitress and manager came to our table explaining that they were out of pretty much everything we ordered. They were out of shrimp! We were told it wasnt a good day of the week to eat there as they dont get any deliveries that day. They didnt charge us for any of the wine we drank, but what a joke! We ended up going across the street to grab a quick bite at Fuddruckers since it was already 9 at night and we were starved!

Review: My girlfriend and I were going to Fuddruckers. We pulled in the parking lot and decided to try Palmetto Grill. From the minute we walked in I loved it. My favorite was the caeser salad! All of the food was good though. I'm glad that we have somewhere to go in Myrtle Beach where the staff is awesome and the food is top notch!

Review: We have never had better she crab soup. It was spectacular.

Our server, Jamie, was perfect, a rating we have given to only one other. Extremely attentive without hovering, with a visible desire to give exemplary service. What a pleasure.

At that dinner we were told that they were also open for lunch. So, two days later we decided to stop there. It was 1:15 PM and there was no indication that they were open. We tried the door, and they were, with our server explaining that we were the first patrons that day. Then, shortly thereafter, several more patrons came in, one making the comment that they saw 1 car, so decided to stop. Why management does not wish to increase business by having a few employees park near the front entrance to draw customers is a mystery to me. (Many times we choose eating establishments by the amount of cars in the parking lot) This has always served us well.

Review: We have just come home from the Palmetto Grill and we chose it based solely on these reviews. I thought the good reviews outweighed the bad so we thought it was safe. The decor is lovely..that's the best thing about the place. I think it is incredibly overpriced. $20 for the small 6oz fillet is very expensive in my opinion. My husbands steak came out with all kinds of spices and seasonings on it. They added those without even asking him. He likes his steaks plain! Our iced tea was the first thing to go back. There was a stale water taste in it that we couldn't ignore. They brought cokes out to replace them and the taste was still there. My steak was very rare and bleeding when I asked for medium well-done and it had to go back. They brought no bread, I had to ask for it and it came after we had finished eating our entree. My steak came back after my husband had finished his, so I asked for a doggy box. They took the newly delivered bread away before bringing me the box, so I couldn't even sample it. Our bill came to $80 for appetizers and mains and 2 sodas. We've eaten better and for much cheaper. No return visit for us.

Review: I am a professional restaurant critic and the food editor for Coast Magazine and Alternatives NewsMagazine. I am a member of the American Culinary Federation and the Chaine des Rotisseurs.

I have been reviewing the Palmetto Grill twice a year since it changed from Copeland's New Orleans Restaurant several years ago. The last review was on 10-27-05.

At no point in it's history has the food been any finer than it is today under the control of Chef Chris Hartnet. Chef Hartnet swept the honors at last years "Taste of the Tidelands" culinary competition judged by Ferdinand Metz, CMC and President Emeritus of the Culinary Institute of America.

The poison pen review by the Springfield, Virginia author on 11-14-05 is totally unfair.

The Palmetto Grill enjoys a superb reputation in this community for its excellent cuisine and it's superior service. Please don't let the words of a disgruntled, inexperienced (doesn't know grouper from tuna) tourist deter you from trying this wonderful restaurant.

Review: The service was horrible. There was no one to greet guests at the front door. The waiter took 10 minutes to get to our table initially. Our waiter could not open a bottle of wine. When our food finally arrived, most of it was tasteless or downright inedible. You could not cut the filet mignon with a steak knife, the potatoes au gratin were foul (undercooked potatoes and greasy cheese), the oysters were overdone and rubbery, and we're not even sure the grouper was really grouper. The management's response was inadequate to say the least and the whole experience was unsatisfactory. We thought we were in for a nice experience in a restaurant with a lot of atmosphere. Clearly you can't tell a book by its cover.

Review: My husband and I found this restaurant while on vacation. From the looks of the outside, we thought it was going to be above our price range. We went in and the atmosphere was very inviting, all pink and black. We asked to look at a menu to make sure the food choices were to my liking, as I am a very picky eater, and to make sure we could afford it. To our suprise, the prices were very reasonable, in fact, a lot lower than we thought.

The service was great, and the seating arrangements are quite private. My husband got the smothered chicken, I think it was called, and that was delicious! And, the most important test to a good restaurant...to-die-for bread! Best place we ate at all week!

Review: There was nothing about this restaurant I didn't like.

The service was great. The food was outstanding -- I ordered the prime rib, a 2002 Camelot Cabernet, house salad and broccoli - and every single bite was excellent.

The service was top notch. Although the atmosphere of the restaurant made me wish I was in an evening gown, we came in wearing shorts and t-shirts and were treated like royalty. I'm also a very picky eater who asks multiple irritating questions of the waitress (so i'm told by my family members) yet the waitress as well as the manager were extremely helpful, kind, and accommodating. We were shocked at the price. We had full dinners, myself having prime rib and my husband ordering the multiple appetisers, french onion soup, and a large taco salad, along with wine, for under $50 before tip. Absolutely wonderful place; cannot say enough good things about it, and we will be back again very soon.
