Review: What a sad day to go to Outriggers and see that it was no longer open; we have been going there for 20 plus years and it was truly one of our highlights of Myrtle Beach; my only regret is not purchasing a cookbook when you were open and not knowing what has happened to Mr. Lattie who has been such an inspiration to so many people. It would be great to post something about the restaurant and Mr. Lattie.

Review: Just came back from Myrtle Beach and disapointed that the Outrigger will be no more. The lease sign was up and the place was closed. My family has been going there for over 20 years. The unique signature dishes of this place will truly be missed. I hope the family will put out a receipe book.

Review: The Outrigger is a must for every trip to Myrtle Beach. Sometimes we go there more than once. That's a compliment considering all the different choices Myrtle Beach has to offer. Best place we've found for seafood. We've been going there for many years. Try their all-you-can-eat meals. You won't be disappointed. Frog legs, crab cakes, different kinds of shrimp and their hush puppies are great.

Review: I have been going to the Outrigger for 20 years. This year as we were entering North Myrtle for Bike Week, I was shocked and heartbroken to see the place is closed and up for sale. I just couldn't believe it. I do hope that Mr. Upchurch is well and doing ok. I always looked forward to seeing him and always made sure we did see him so that we could say HELLO from Delaware. As some of you may be aware Mr. Upchurch grew up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. I also looked forward to as did my children to see Trois performing his wonderful illusions. I love the restuarant, the food and the friendships over the years. I do hope Mr. Upchurch is ok. I asked around some of the local establishments this May if anyone knew anything about the Outrigger and why it was closed, but nobody could answer me. If anyone has any details please let me know. Many thanks and God Bless.

Review: I was in Myrtle Beach on Feb. 14 and Outrigger had a very large "For Lease" sign in the middle of its front door. I guess this is the end to old legendary establishment. I'll miss you.

Review: This was my first time at Outrigger. My wife and I took her parents there this September. The food was pretty good but the value was not so good. I just thought it was too much like Red Lobster and I can go there anytime.

Review: We have enjoyed this restaurant for many years. We have not been disappointed.
We were well attended and the food was perfect.
Every year, we are greeted by the owner walking to every table.

Review: Enjoyed many meals with our family at this restaurant in past years, and the kids loved the magic.
We were there in April 2005 and were very disappointed...
Only advice I have is STAY AWAY....FAR AWAY..
Just my opinion..

Review: Our group of 14 ate here on 8/5/05 with reservations at 6 PM. We were immediately seated in a back room. It took some time to get our order placed, but from there the service was good. While we were waiting for our food "Hattie" the owner came by and I told him how shocked I was to see him because a previoius review had said he had died and the place was not the same. Well, to our group it was the same as the previous 3 years and we all enjoyed our meals. There is something for everyone here. The crab legs were good, the haddock was good, shrimp and the pot of steamed goodies I very much enjoyed-oysters, clams, shrimp & crab or lobster was the choice. Salads were a good size too and the hushpuppies were on the table soon after we sat down. Also the balloon man was there in the lobby to make things for a couple dollars for children is you wish. We had done this in the past & he is quite good at it! We were all so full that we did not order dessert.

Review: I, too, enjoyed eating at the Outrigger in the late 80s, early 90s. My husband and I went to Myrtle Beach on our honeymoon, and I couldn't wait to eat there again. It certainly is not as good as it used to be. I ordered crab legs, and they didn't bring me butter. When I asked for it the waitress brought a little cup of yellow liquid. After a few minutes it congealed, and looked like pure grease. It made me sick to think that I had eaten that. I'm still not sure what it was! Have been back to Myrtle Beach several times and am planning on a trip in Sept. I will never eat there again.

Review: I agree with the other reviews. This was one of the best places to go for seafood in North Myrtle Beach. The past few times I have been I was very disapointed. I guess the old man was what kept the Outrigger at its best.

Review: I also enjoyed dining at Outrigger in the early 1990's. They "had" a nice salad bar, huge portions, good service, good food, and fair prices. They no longer have any of these things. Avoid! Avoid!! Avoid!!!

Review: After enjoying many Outrigger meals during the early 90's, I was ecstatic to show it off to my family when I went back there for dinner in September 2003. Boy was I in for a shock! The place had REALLY gone downhill. It wasn't even busy & we waited an hour for our food. The service totally sucked & when we finally did receive our food, it was fair at best. The portions were quite small for the price, and it wasn't even hot. What a huge disappointment! We are returning to Myrtle Beach this summer, but Outrigger will definitely not be on our dining list.

Review: This exceptional restaurant is a favorite of tourists and locals. It offers great service, the freshest seafood and a friendly, family atmosphere. The murals and artwork alone are worth the visit. Definately a must for anyone dining in the Myrtle Beach area.
