Review: Once again folks he is not there. Just left the last known address for Chef Orobasa in Georgetown and it was closed. If anyone knows where he is now located please post it. Will be in the area until Friday and would love to find him before then. Tried the phone but no answer.

Review: We discovered Orobosa's through a write-up in Southern Living several years ago when he was in Pawley's Island. We now eat here every time we visit the coast and have followed him to Georgetown. The food is excellent - LOVE the crab cakes. This is worth the drive - you will not be disappointed.

Review: Some friends of mine have gone to the first two locations and we just went to his new location. As a first timer I must say the food was wonderful! And his own special recipe of salad dressing was so good I bought three jars! If you're visiting the area it is a must try!

Review: After much searching I finally located Orobosa in his new location at 926 Front St in Georgetown, SC. The phone number I found was 843-546-0695. I had the shrimp jambalaya, a specialty of the house. My friends had crab cakes with a wonderful tarragon lobster sauce and the beef waga waga with a sauce influenced by the chef's Nigerian heritage. The food has always and still is absolutely brilliant.

Review: I've gone to great length to search for this restaurant. I found it and my effort paid off. Great Food! I ordered lunch and dinner (to go) to try a number of dishes: Crab Cakes, Shrimp Gumbo, and Beef Waga. They are all very good.

Review: We're frequent diners at the restaurant in Pawley's. Four times a week over a seven day period! The variety is wonderful, and its the best low country cuisine in South Carolina. The service is very friendly and helpful, and they are quite quick on the take.
The surrounding area has a charm to it, that you have to understand S.C. to understand!
Orobasa himself is a constant presence, and a great chef who's worth his mettle.
We've never waited to be seated (possibly because we're on a first name basis) and the noise level is a low din that comforts.

Review: My husband and I found this little jewel by accident. Now he brings his golf buddies and I bring my tennis buddies every year. It's one of our top restaurants to visit. The chef/owner is very nice and accomodating. Try it, you'll like it.

Review: After a recommendation from a South Carolinian, I ate my birthday dinner at Orobosa's with my girfriend and her mother. We were all completely satisfied and impressed with the restaurant. Everyone's meal was perfectly prepared and the waiter was always on point. From presentation of food, to pouring of wine, to a unique and comfortable atmosphere, this restaruant would shine in the most renowned food cities. You truly wouldn't expect to find something of Orobosa's caliber along Highway 17, and that's what makes it all the more special.

Review: First time visiting this place, and heard good things. All in my party were thrilled with their meals. Vegetables had a great taste off of the grill, and the menu had great choices.
Definitely a do-over!

Review: Our favorite place to dine in South Carolina! From the Fried Tomato soup, to the Shrimp Jambalaya and Crab Cakes with Lobster tarragon sauce, to the 14 layer Caramel cake, Chef Orobosa ROCKS! Staff is very cordial, and service is excellent. Gourmet food, with Shabby Chic ambiance, this is one dining experience not to be missed.

Review: Food quality was barely acceptable. Grouper was overcooked and not fresh. Chicken Waga was mediocre. Salad was good but very sparse and no choices. Appetizers and soups are not even offered.
The service was horrible! Waitress forgot everything and had to be asked several times for standard things.
In addition, I called earlier in the day to make a special request. My wife has had several strokes and cannot consume alcohol. I inquired if they had non-alcohol on their wine list and was informed they did not. Inquired if we could bring a bottle since she enjoys "wine" with dinner. No problem I was told. When we entered we were abruptly told there would be a $15. corkage fee. Surprised but not overly offended I said OK. Problem is all the waitress did was open the bottle. Never poured the wine, had to ask 3 times for a cooler, etc. Being a previous restaurant owner this was an insult. They don't know anything about corkage procedures other than to charge.
Ambiance is also a problem. It's not arrogantly shabby, it's a run down building with outside bathrooms which were in poor condition. Certainly cannot meet the handicap regulations.
Needless to say we won't return, and we are locals.

Review: Our party had shrimp scampi, beef waga waga and a grouper in a lemon sauce. All were excellent. We have dined at many restaurants in the low country, Nantucket, Seattle, New York etc. This is the real thing. The food is the story.

Review: We live here and dine here often. This is quite honestly the best food anywhere in the area. The best dishes are the grouper and the crab cake. If the fried tomatoe soup is available - get it! The 14 layer caramel cake can't be beat. Chef is at the top of his game and the staff moves right along with him.

Review: Six of us had dinners there late one evening, just prior to closing time...the staff was wonderfully accommodating and friendly; and across the board, we all had excellent dinners...from crab cakes to gumbo. Highly recommended. Carole & Dave Mills, Monument, CO

Review: We found this restaurant to be one of the best in Myrtle Beach. Chef Orobosa's sauces are perfect and the corn appetizers and desserts are excellent. Hope to return many times next year 2007. Keep up the fabulous job.

Review: I wish you had SIX stars to award!! Simply wonderful. The beef tenderloin Waga Waga was the best beef entree I've ever had. My dining companions all had the crab cakes and were equally impressed. If you think I'm exaggerating, you're wrong.

Review: The best, most surprising restaurant in South Carolina--
unreal-- like eating in Manhattan without any expensive swank...cooked by a professional chef at the top of his game... What a discovery-- in an a old ice cream shack...4 Star Cuisine...
I mean it seriously and absolutely-- just a delight.
Look for a mention in an upcoming issue of Golf Digest.
