Family owned, mother and son in the kitchen, father is maitre de. Waitstaff has been with the restaurant for a long time. Many excellent Italian restaurants in the area, Carrabbas right next door, but if you want special treatment and food, Old World Italian Restaurant is terrific. ref: 361

We're from New York, and we're Italian, so when we go on vacation we are extremely picky about our Italian food. When we walked into Old World (we just refer to it as "George's place") it was like we were home. Great food all the way around, authentic NY Italian, and I recommend the Chicken Marsala... Oh yeah, order the Peroni beer. My husband drank that when he was stationed in Sardinia while he served in the Navy. I like it better than Heineken! ref: 279

We had reservations, but still had to wait to be seated for 45 min. Others walked in after us and were seated right away. Seems in order to get seated you have to know the owner. ref: 201
