Reviews were on the side of misleading. Overpriced food which some came cold and uncooked (grilled tuna), bland rice and green beans, yellow cheese in the Cheese steak vs the Provolone that was stated on the menu and waited awhile for the food to come out. Rude to customers by saying coffee refill would happen only if they have any half and half left. Since we used a restaurant.com coupon they already added the 18% gratuity even though they didn't deserve it. No dolphins, romantic atmosphere, or kid friendly. Great deal of cigaret smoke smell everywhere.

Everything about this experience was memorable! We saw pelicans, dolphins and surfers all while having a delicious breakfast on Saturday Morning. Toni was very helpful with local attractions and Jackie's service was great. We had a Mariner breakfast meal and a Eggs Benedict Platter. The portions were plentiful and well worth the affordable prices. We enjoyed the meal so much, we returned for the Coconut Shrimp Dinner Special- and we were NOT DISAPPOINTED... the evening staff was equally as pleasant - although the bartender was a bit loud as were the bar patrons- I highly recommend this establishment for breakfast or dinner- maybe next time we'll sit further from the lounge entrance to avoids background noise.

Beautiful views and overall atmosphere. Ordered bruchetta and shared scallops as an appetizer. Main courses were stuffed flounder with she-crab sauce, which was average, and chicken cordon bleu, which was above average. Both were served with roasted red potatoes and green beans, which were tasty. The only criticism noted was slow drink orders, which we finally cancelled after approximately 20 minute wait. Price was extremely reasonable. Would dine there again.

Thanksgiving dinner and another time we ate there it was FANTASTIC food. The chef is superb and the turkey dinner was such an amazing experience we returned to try the stuffed flounder and chicken cordon-bleu the very next night! I wish we lived closer & could visit more often.

I went to the Ocean Forest Bistro with a party of six last night and had a great time. The service was perfect. Everything was on time and the server, Shawn, was hilarious. If you decide to go here for a meal defiantely request to sit at his table. He had us playing games and laughing histerically. The food was above average. The portions were large and the prices were reasonable with the average entree being $14-$15 with a salad. When I go back I'll defiantely order either the shrimp alfredo, the seafood fra diavolo, or the chicken parm. I had the chicken marsala and the marsala sauce was not a cream sauce and they used full sized portabella mushrooms instead of smaller mushrooms, while it was tasty, it was not what I was expecting. Other than that this is definately a place we look forward to visiting again and again. I had heard from two people in our party that the retuarant that was here prior to the recent change in management was not nearly as good. Hence the title of my review. Parking on the street is highly recommended.

You might never find The Ocean Forest Bistro unless you go looking for it, but like a buried treasure, it is more than worth it when you do. The restaurant and adjacent bar have been newly remodeled and the atmosphere is calm and inviting, with light music playing in the background all the time. You won't have much time to admire it before being seated, however, because the friendly staff is quick and attentive, and will have you seated in no time. The food. Oh, the food. This is what matters most, of course, and it also happens to be what will keep you coming back for more. I've gone with my family a handful of times, and no matter what anyone gets, we are always delighted with our meals. My personal favorite is the salmon, which is always delicious and never dry or bland. Unlike anyplace else I've eaten, the chef himself has occasionally crept out of the kitchen to make sure everyone is happy with their food. You can really tell the people here care about what they're doing. I can't recommend this place enough. Just go try it and you'll be sure to return again and again... IF you like eating great food, that is.

Having relocated from New York to Conway, South Carolina, I've eaten at Ocean Forest Bistro several times in as many months. Aside from totally enjoying the fabulous high-rise ocean view (which was the initial attraction to the restaurant), never once have I been dissatisfied with the first class meals, the attentive staff, or the inviting and intimate atmosphere. In fact, I find myself looking forward to the next dining experience to sample more of the appealing (and affordable) dishes prepared there and to gather at the bar at sunset with my family and guests. I've discovered the pearl in the oyster!

This restaurant has excellent food. Amanda was a great server and Shawn kept things going in Papa Joe's Bar & Lounge after our meal. They made the evening memorable. The hostess, Toni, made us feel right at home and Chef JP joined us after our meal was complete. This was a very special evening. The portions were healthy and price was right. Dessert (cherry cheesecake for me and Red Velvet for my company) was fresh and delicious. I have to mention the panoramic view of the ocean and the charming, candle-lit, jazzy setting. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an all around great dining experience.
