We have been loyal customers for years. Went for dinner and had our 10 year old granddaughter with us. The blonde woman who was serving us informed me that "this is not a kid friendly restaurant" right from the start. For a plain cheeseburger with fries and iced tea, the charge was $10.50. The oysters were bad and made my daughter and husband sick. The hot dog came with some horrible looking chili, no slaw, and I sent it back. Marvin's used to have the best hot dogs in MB! Instead of cocktail sauce, they served salsa with the shrimp. The bartender with the shaved head was very nice and explained there had been a change in ownership. The server was the rudest I have EVER encountered at any restaurant. I did not tip her. I was a server/bartender for 19 years, so I expect good service if I am paying good money! She made a point to come back over to our table, look at me, and say in a totally sarcastic tone, "thank you so much honey"! I will NEVER go back again, and it just so happens I work for the largest hotel group in Myrtle Beach, so I will be warning our guests to steer clear of this "new Marvin's".

We were informed that Marvin's had a new owner by the front desk clerk at our hotel but we always go to Marvin's everytime we visit Myrtle Beach for their wings. We decided to go to Marvin's March 2012 and we had our little dog with us which was in a pet stroller, and we were going to sit outside. While walking down the boardwalk to Marvin's we saw that numerous people had their pets on leashes setting by them outside eating at the various restaurants so we thought it would be okay and felt better about it. We got to Marvin's only to have the owner or manager or whatever he was literally yell at us that we had to leave and we could not sit outside and have a meal with our dog in the pet stroller so we left and we do not plan to ever go back to Marvin's again!

Marvin's the THE BOMB! We love this place. The food, the service, the staff, the beer, the wonderful views, the music - it's all right here at Marvin's. Marvin's is our daily haunt when we are in MB because it just doesn't get any better than this. Marvin and Paula make sure everyone has a great time. Marcie cooks up some of the tastiest treats. Russell, Amanda and the bar staff are always smiling and happy to visit with guests and Rocky keeps the place spotless. They get to know you and remember you, it's very special. Honestly, it's our beach "home" and we love everything about it! We'll be there for our annual visit in October. Thank you everyone at Marvin's and we'll see you soon. Anyone visiting MB should NOT miss this!!!

I had never been here before, but was pleasently suprised at how good the food was! I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was great! You can't go wrong at $4.99. My son-in-law got a philly cheese steak and loved it. Prices good, not the cleanest bathrooms (I wouldn't sit down in there) but a good place to eat in MB. I will be back.

We have been going to Marvin's for the past 10 years in October. Only remember one bad experence with one bartender. He is no long there. For the most part the same people have been working there for as long as I can remember. That say's a lot about the place to me. They always seem to remeber me and my husdand every year. They always not want to cook us from the grill to take back to the room after we are finished for the night. I can't say enought about ther food it is great.

My husband and I were just down for the weekend and were looking for somewhere to eat after listening to the band at the St. Patrick's Day street party. We stumbled upon Marvin's. It was fantastic! The bartenders Russ and Candy were great! I kept hearing people order a pitch of a mixed drink called Oil Pan or Oil something. It looked really good. I was trying to find out what was in it. I had a Philly Cheesesteak and my husband had a burger. Both were delish! We will go back when we visit later in the summer.

" Candy" was her name very rude cussing and had no respect for her self or the customers.White trash should not be dealing with customers. VERY disrespectful calling the women "mamma" , will go back only if she is not around. She needs to know about Sountern Charm & respect for yourself!

We visited Marvin's on Tuesday, Sept. 7 for lunch. The restaurant had a few patrons. One young man immediately handed us 2 menus and asked us to come to the bar when we were ready to order. We decided on menu items and went back to the bar to order. The young man was taking a large order for someone else, but continued to "chat" with the customer rather than recognize us. The employee (woman) on the other end of the bar kept glancing our way while chatting with a female at the other end of the bar, only stopping her chat to answer the telephone. We left, and ended up at Peaches, which was much busier than Marvin's, but we were immediately recognized and told that we would be helped soon, with follow up reassurances. fyi, we spent over $20 at Peaches plus our customary 20% tip. We had looked forward to Marvin's, but left in a very unhappy mood because we continued to be ignored by the staff except for the young man at the very beginning. What a memory for a vacation!

Had lunch here today (June 30, 2010) and the food was excellent. It was my first time going into this restaurant this year (since the new boardwalk was completed). I ate outside in a new designated area for customers. The atmosphere was great. There are umbrellas over the tables. The cheeseburger might be the best I've had in years. Awesome. Better than I remember. The foot-long hot dog also was outstanding, a perfect 10. I go here twice a year and have for ages. I won't eat inside because of the smoke, but it's one of those local, oceanfront bar/grills that's been around for ages and every single time it's quality. But this time, the burger in particular was better than I ever remember. Service was excellent, quick, and people are very friendly.

Once upon a time I loved to go to Marvin's!!! My husband and I would go in and drink a pitcher of Long Island ice tea and shoot pool, feed the juke box. We would always wait around until we could get the table in the corner so we could have a little "privacy" to drink, enjoy the music and play pool...the last time we went we were asked to move from our table so some "friends" of the owner could sit down....WTF is that???!!! I'll NEVER go back...they lost some loyal regulars that day!!!

I have eaten in Marvin's twice this year (only because the rest of my family wanted to do so). The first time I ordered a hot dog and fries. It took about 20 minutes to get our order. My hot dog was the worst I have ever had. It was cold and hard. The french fries didn't taste like they had even been cooked. It was a total waste of money. The next time I ordered hamburger steak. It was better than the hot dog but still only warm---not hot like it should be. It was a better deal than the hot dog becuase you got a salad, a roll, and a side with it. If you are a non-smoker you need to be prepared for all the cigarette smoke that seems to linger forever. And the noise level is extremely high. It isn't easy to hear them yell out your name when your order is ready (because they don't come to your table). It's an okay place to eat but not great.

We have been going to Marvin’s for over 25 years. Marvin's has great food. The House dog and wings are my favorites. But Marvin's is more than great food. It is a casual laid back experience. We go there to have a beverage, enjoy great food, do a little people watching and maybe shoot some pool. You will find a variety of rock and country on the digital jukebox. Marvin’s is a great bar, with tasty food and good people. The other reviewer is correct, there are no waiters and -yes- you have to order and pick up your food from the bar and Marvin’s is cash only, no credit cards, but it is well worth it. You will not find nicer people than Marvin & Paula. So if you are staying near the Boardwalk in Myrtle Beach, walk down to Marvin's Food & Games, play a few songs on the jukebox, order your favorite beverage, try the wings and relax. We hope you find the experience as enjoyable as we do.

I 'm from Toledo,Ohio and I come to Myrtle Beach every year and the first place I have to go is Marvin's, my brother turned me on to that place years ago and i make sure thats the first place i go as soon as I get to the beach. I love the food and the prices are great. I've had alot of your food and I was never dissapointed everybody should go there to eat and it doesn't matter what you wear.Your always welcome and its nice and cool inside.Check it out. And Marvin you are very handsome I like just to come in and talk to you,(cutie) keep up the good work . Sue

I really dont understand how this place gets such good reviews. The bar is hidden on ocean blvd and good luck trying to find a parking spot cause there is none. There are no waiters only bar tenders. I sat at a booth and the bartender would just call me up when my food was ready and i had to go get it. Pretty lazy. Someone told me its a redskins bar but i dont believe them place looks like all nascar. The food was way below average i got the hamburger it was really dried out. I would not recommend this place at all. Go to melons down the st from there on 17 it has parking and much better pool tables and quality of tv's.

WTF? Elite 8 basketball game happening and practically every outdated TV is showing a NASCAR race? Finally after asking 3 times to change to the NCAA game, management reluctanctly switched to the game but without sound. I asked again if we could have this one TV with sound but A$$ wipe and about 10 toothless buddies sitting at the bar wanted to hear the noise of race cars traversing in a circle. At least invest in some sort of sound system and play some music in that cash cow of a restrauant. Maybe the other 50 people sitting there don't want to hear continuous noise for 3 hours blarring from only 1 TV. This place pi$$ed me off, had to leave at the half to find a better place.

We love marvin and paula. We have been visiting them from the beginning of their restaurant. They are two of the finest people we have ever known. Because of health issues we are not able to visit nearly as much now but we most certainly recommend Marvin's to everyone. Their hot wings are the best found anywhere. They know me as "the pepper jelly lady" because I try to make and take them some whenever I visit..

I visited Marvin's under different circumstances than the normal, but the outcome was far better than ever expected. The employees, along with Marvin and Paula, were wonderful. They treat their employees as members of their family. In times of a crisis, they show genuine love for the people they care about. Thank you all very much!

We just returned from our trip and I highly recommend Marvin's. We ate there for lunch 2 days and for dinner 3 nights during our stay. The hot dogs, hamburgers, wings, cheese fries and philly's are the best around. The wait staff are courteous and friendly. Good place to meet up with friends to eat, play pool, listen to music and socialize. They make good drinks, especially Alabama Slammers and Long Island Ice Teas. Next time you visit Myrtle Beach be sure and stop by Marvin's.

I just returned from Myrtle Beach and Marvin's was def. the spot to go for me and my three best friends. No day was complete until we went to Marvin's. The staff at Marvin's was amazing. They were very friendly and made the time there enjoyable. We went during the day and we went at night and both times were enjoyable, we were there for hours. Kim, the bartender, AMAZING! The Irish Crew, Becky and Brian i believe we met, awesome people. Sean the cowboy, a good man. When i return to Myrtle Beach, I am def. returning to Marvin's! No trip is complete without a stop at Marvin's! The food is amazing, the prices are great, and Kim makes a great Hurricane!

My best friend and I just got home from MB yesterday. We discovered Marvin's during our stay, and I wound up going there at least 4 times in 2 days. We stopped by on our way home, and had a blast! The bartenders are all awesome and have wonderful personalities! Kim and Sean especially! I would have to say this would be my "Local hangout" if I lived at Myrtle Beach. Just wanted to say thank you for making us feel so welcomed and we will definately be back! Sooner than you think! Be on the lookout for the "Miller Girls!"- *wink*- that is for Kim! Thanks again for everything!

I started going ot Myrtle Beach every year as a young child w/my parents. My parents were actually the first customers when Marvins moved oceanside, now as an adult I still come to Myrtle Beach w/my husband, daughter and father and it brings back so many fond memories. Every year I can count on Marvins being there and having the best food and atmosphere on the strand. The wings and tacos are the best and you cant go there without getting their footlog chili dog w/cole slaw....

Marvin's in Myrtle Beach is the closest to Margaritaville as you can get. With Jimmy on the jukebox and the waves crashing behind, it is a paradise. When Jimmy is talking about a one particular harbor, he is talking about Marvin's. Be sure order a cheeseburger (in paradise) and a pitcher of cold draft beer. Marvin's is a true parrothead oasis, where you can be the people that your parents warned you about.

My husband and I travel annually to Myrtle Beach. A few years ago we discoverd Marvin's. This is the best kept secret on the Grand Strand.

It's the first place we go when we arrive and the last place we go before heading home with daily visits a must!!!

The foot longs are great, wonderful burgers and killer wings, the cold pitchers of beer are great, full bank of windows overlooking the beach and the local color makes it a MUST experience.

Paula's personality keeps things lively and Kim and Spanky provide excellent service. We're always sad to leave, but we know they will make us very welcome when we return. We're already planning our next visit!
