Mako's restaurant was not too far from our hotel and they have EXCELLENT food! We were lucky enough to get there for Happy Hour, their staff was very kind and courteous. Prices were GREAT! We had the Pot for 2 which included 1lb shrimp, 1 lb crab legs, russet potatoes, corn on cobb, and sausage for 34.99. It was the BEST I have had in a VERY long time! I grew up near North Myrtle Beach and think that Mako's has just stolen favorite restaurant in my eyes! This is a MUST TRY place!

My husband and I were staying at The Reef over the Labor Day weekend. A server from the bar had been walking around the pool area taking orders for food and drinks. My husband and I placed an order for drinks with her. Later in the day I went up to the outside oceanfront bar to order another drink, the same one I had ordered previously. The man working at the bar told me very loudly and very rudly that the drink I had ordered was not one on their happy hour drink list, when I told him I had ordered earlier that day, he started asking me from who and asking me to point out what server had sold it to me for that and causing a huge scene. Needless to say, I was very embarrassed, the bar area was full, with it being a holiday weekend. But deternined not to be made a liar out of I pointed out the person who had took our order and quoted the exact price we had paid along with her tip for the two drinks, then I apologized to her. She told him she must have misunderstood which drinks were included and which were not. He went on and on about he had told her over and over which were included. He was a real ass. It really did not matter what the price of the drink was because I had the money to pay regardless, it was just the way he handled the entire situation. There was a hotel employee there who witnessed the scene who spoke to me and later told me he was trying to difuse the situation because the guy was being so rude about the whole thing. I paid for that drink, left him no tip and we did not visit there for the rest of out stay. All of the other employees there were very nice, but this guy needed a real attitude adjustment. I seriously doubt the money or the liquor was coming out of his pocket.

Best view in Myrtle Beach. Long cool drinks, good food (best barbeque and ribs to die for) , friendly atmosphere. Live entertainment when we were there. View of the ocean from the outdoor bar was really great. Laid back!

We were staying at the Grand Atlantic Resort and stopped over to their sister hotel to get a bite to eat at the restaurant this weekend. I went with my wife and three kids and everything was great. Kids had burgers and a hot dog and me and the wife ate pizza. One man show but we never noticed being that it's still a slower time of year.
