Daughter was there with friends last year and got sick after eating, so did her friends. Had to wait 1 hour and 30 mins. Just to be seated. Waitress came another 15 mins. Later to take order, then waited at least another hour for food. Not clean at all. Bathrooms were cleaner than restaurant. Will not visit again or recommend to anyone!.

I ate there with a large party and the food was great, the service was great, atmosphere nice... one thing, though. The BIG problem was: after dinner, my son and his wife purchased 2 t-shirts with a gift card that had been received for their wedding. They wrote the correct amount into the bottom of the charge receipt, which was approx. $33. for both shirts. Later that evening, they tried to use the gift card again but it was rejected. When they called to see what was up with the gift card, they were told that Joe's Crab Shack had charged the $33. for the shirts and then given themselves a $7. tip! When they called the Crab Shack, the supervisor, Ms. Young, did nothing to help and gave them some song and dance about how, when you use a gift card, an automatic "hold" is put on it. NOT SO! My daughter in law then called the Regional Manager and he was appalled that she was treated so rudely and was basically robbed by Joe's Crab Shack and he had the District Manager call her. To date, this is almost a week later, my son and his wife have not received their $7. back, nor has Joe's Crab Shack done anything else to help them. I have a feeling that this is a common practice when you use a gift card in there (it is written right on the front of the card that it's a gift card - so there is NO monthly statement given and people are most likely gone away from the restaurant when they realize they have been robbed) so everyone BEWARE! Joe's Crab Shack waitress tipped herself an EXACT 20% tip for the cost of the shirts and she did NOTHING but ring them up! Our waitress for the meal was wonderful and did a great job and she made about $40. tips because they automatically add 18% to each check but at least, she did something for her money.

We have been at this location 3 times in the last 18 months..We live in Chas. SC, so going to this location is a mini vacation for us. Each time we order calamari, and the steam pots..We have yet to be disappointed. We are going again this week..The only thing is your noise level. We are in our 40's and background noise is hard for us...lower that, and you are a 10!!!!!

Tues, 3/24/09 We were a party of 5 "older" ladies from Massachusetts wanting to taste the seafood of Myrtle Beach. Well, we weren't disappointed. The Shrimp and Crab Enchiladas covered w cheese and served w black beans and rice were out of this world yummy! Crab cakes were exceptional. Sunset Salmon was very good but a little overcooked. This was just a fun place to eat. Brian, our waiter was outright friendly and accommodated a few special requests. The song and dance of the wait staff was also fun. Great family restaurant! Would love to come back again!

24 of us walked in at 2:30pm last Friday. The entire place had 6 other customers in it. Once we got our drinks we aksed to have the lunch specials which lasted until 3:00pm. We are told it's 3:00 now so we can't offer them. Needless to say we paid for our drinks and got up and walked out. In the off-season the lost a 300.00 lunch tab. When things are lsow you need to make it happen.

We eat at Joes every time we visit Myrtle Beach this year it was not that great we got this new Speial 5.00 Appetizers we were VERY hungry so we said what the heck lets get one to hold us over until our food came out well turned out not a good choice we had to wait 15 Min for them only to have our food come out 2 Min. later they were good but not worth it. My Steak was good and my Daughter liked her Mac and Cheese how ever my wife got the Fish and shrimp platter and the shrimp was good but the fish was GROSS it tasted like it had been around for quite some time. I must say we did mention it to our server and they took care of us but a disppointment when you are used to a quality meal from JOES. Hopfully this will not happen again we will give them another shot next year.

We found this restaurant to be a little noisy for a family dinner, but OK if you are looking for a little more of a party atmosphere. For the price, we found the food to be very good. My husband ordered the garlic mussels appetizer, and they were delicious (very garlicy!). All of the other entrees/appetizers were very good. We had a coupon for a free appetizer, which they told us either meant one of two pre-selected appetizers for free or $7.95 off any other appetizer. (Not a bad deal - got the coupon at the visitors kiosk at Broadway at the Beach.) I'd definitely go back to Joe's Crab Shack.

This has become a family favorite. The food is always good, but Steve the Balloon Guy is a must! The first time we came, the service was excellent. However, our most recent trip left us very disappointed in this area. Our drinks didn't arrive until well after our appetizer and weren't right when we got them. I'm sure we will be back because we love the food and fun atmosphere, but I hope the service will be better next time!

Something has happened at Joe's Crab Shack. We have eaten there for years whenever we go to Myrtle Beach but this time, it was so bad we said we would never go back. During our visit at Easter, we waited for almost an hour for a table and then over 40 minutes for our food. The kids were starving and we asked for a manager and she said something like, "The kitchen is backed up....what do you want me to do about it." When the food arrived, my steak was so overcooked I couldn't eat it and all of our food was cold. The server said she was new and her service looked as if she hadn't been trained....just put on the floor with a pen to take orders. We will never eat there again and suggest that you visit one of the many restaurants that Myrtle Beach offers.

We ended up at Joe's because we had to evacuate Margaritaville due to the sprinkler system going off. We didn't have a Plan B for dinner so on the recommendation of some friends, we went to Joe's. We waited about 20-25 min for a table which was not too bad compared to the wait at some of the other Broadway at the Beach places. Most of that time was spent at the bar (very small!) enjoying some of their good ( but expensive) signature "trash can" drinks. This is technically a seafood restaurant but the menu offerings are more on the casual side...nothing too fancy. I ordered a fried cod sandwich/fries which was a huge plate of food and was very delicious. I don't remember what the rest of my party ordered but they were all very happy with their food. Our server was not as attentive as we would have liked but then again it was crowded and a little crazy in there. This is one of those casual and loud chain restaurants that you either like or you don't like. We enjoyed it very much and will probably "Eat At Joe's" again.

I have been to this restaurant once and it will be only once. I was there Aug. 15, 2007. The staff were the rudest people that I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. Empty tables were EVERYWHERE while we waited an hour for food that was horrible. We had no silverware to eat with and had to wait another 10 minutes to get this while our food got cold. (Not that it made much difference in the taste) I don't know how you stay in business - everyone that I have talked to has had the same experience. It seemed that no one wanted to wait on anybody. We heard nothing but negative remarks the entire time that we were there. I will tell everyone that I know not to make the same mistake that we did.

Went with the family, had a blast. The waiter we had was great, kept our drinks full and continually made sure we were happy. I had the crabmeat stuffed shrimp. Excellent!, only setback is they give you (8), could have eaten a few more. My sister had the fish and chips and I finished hers because it was a huge portion. The fish was golden deep fried and very tasty. Would definately recommend to a friend.

On our last day in Myrtle Beach, we decided to try a Broadway at the Beach restaurant. We were so disappointed in the entire experience. After waiting for a table, we were given the menus which had basically little to no seafood on it. There were very few crab dishes!! The name is Joe's CRAB shack right???? The food we ordered was cold and very sub par. The noise level in the restaurant was very loud. It was not enjoyable or worth the amount of money we paid. Sorry but we will not return to this "tourist trap" restaurant. There are to many other excellant places to eat in Myrtle Beach.

Although the food ordered was good, it wasn't anything to write home about. And seeing how we're here on vacation, you can take that to heart. We were amused to find that this is another restaurant, here, that appears to hire only "Russian" girls for the wait staff. Our Russian waitress was nice, however forgot one of the drinks and we had to ask the manager (we assumed he was a manager as he wasn't doing anything other than walking around and had a name tag) to bring the drink. The food was delivered promptly, however since one of our party ordered the Crab Combo, we thought that he would be instructed by the staff how to break and properly eat the crab as he had never eaten such a crustacean before. Nobody ever came over so he did his best to eat the crab, however kept getting parts of the shell stuck in his teeth. After drinking a few Coronas, he felt that the crab shell tasted better than the meat inside. On a positive note, the kids macaroni and cheese and pizza went over really well. All in all we'll probably come back but next time we'll ask first how to properly crack and eat the crab.

After waitting for over an 1 1/2 hours and question why others who came after we did was getting seated ahead of us. Then once we got seated it was about another 20 minutes before a watitress came over to get us something to drink.

Our food was brought to us by one of the cooks and I did not get my salad until after I got my food and then I has to ask for it. We only got the one glass of drinks with our meal which was the first drink we got when she first came over. We got nor were asked if we wanted any refills.

We never saw the watitress again until my wife went to the manger and asked for out check and then the manger did not seem to be concerened about the type of service we had just recieved. And the meal I could not finish for it had gotten cold waitting on someone to come by so I could get what I needed to go along with my meal.

We had a horrible experience at this location last week. I was so annoyed, that I was hoping to find the corporate website to send them an email, and I found this instead. I figured at the very least I'd warn other people about the type of service to expect from this location. We were seated right away which was good. But, then we waited for 10 minutes and were never acknowledged by any staff members or wait persons. Finally, my husband flagged down someone who ended up being a manager and asked her to take our drink order. She gave a lukewarm apology (I say this as a very reasonable and exceedingly patient person) and then we asked her if we could go ahead and order our food. We waited another 20 minutes or so without anyone coming by to check on us, refill our drinks or anything. When the waitress finally came by ALL of our drinks had been empty for awhile, and while she was friendly enough, she offered neither an apology nor an explanation for our wait. I had plenty of time to observe the surroundings, and noticed that the restaurant was only about half full, and there were at the very least 15 people working. Most of them appeared to be waitstaff. And judging from the fact that most of them were standing around and chatting I don't think they were short handed. None of our orders were complicated, (we ordered two salads, two burgers, and cheese quesadillas) yet we didn't receive our food until almost an hour after we arrived. During our wait, we only spoke to a member of the staff twice, one of which we had to flag down. While the food was good and the restaurant clean and inviting, the service was so bad I will NOT be returning and I certainly wouldn't recommend it to a friend until they have a serious change in management.

Had to wait 20 minutes for a table. Once inside, there were at least 6 clean and empty tables ready for diners to use. Why the wait???? Didn't see much seafood on the menu. I certainly didn't see much crab. But there were certainly enough T-Shirts for sale. Considering I didn't go there for clothing but instead for food, my family will not eat here again.

I guess I just don't appreciate the noisy "family style" restaurant. The entire time we were there someone was shouting out something about a child's birthday or running around the restaurant clapping. The worst was that they must not know how to operate the AC because it was HOT - we could hardly eat for wanting to get out of there. On a positive note the food was good and the service was excellent. Atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired - unless of course that's what you like.
