We went in and was seated outside July 22, 2007 between 6-8 p.m. The waitress and your manager was so incompetent that I just couldn't believe it. The waitress was hardly ever seen she only had our table and she couldn't even keep up with that. She kept letting our drinks get dry and took forever for us to get food. We maybe saw her five times since we were there. One of the members of our party ordered a medium steak and it came out almost well done. He could not eat it and told the waitress. She got the manager and she came out and apolygized and asked if there was anything she could do. He politely said no I just wanted to let you know. She said she would take if off the bill and went on. Our bill was split three ways. Seems simple enough right? Well apparently it wasn't for these two. Three of the people in our party payed their check and layed it on the table with a what seemed to me like to good of a tip for the waitress we had...but hey everyone has a bad night. It was over looked...until....we waited FIFTEEN MINUTES on YOUR manager AND the waitress to bring back the check of the person that has the steak tooken off. When the gentleman went in to speak with the manager and see what the problem was she was very rude and told him she would be there in a minute. While we sit there and sit there....we watched the time and started getting more unhappy and more unsatisfied. That was totally uncalled for and unprofessional. I have NEVER been treated the way we were treated. We were in your restaurant for a good two hours of our lives. That was completely wasted. Your prices are way to high for the service we get. The manager finally came back with some lame excuse as to the computer wouldn't take it off the right way and they had to start all over again. To be honest the excuse was pretty stupid and made no sense to any of us. When she was asked simply why she couldn't just take the difference off the check let us pay and then work with the computer after we left so that we wouldn't have to wait on her she said she couldn't do it. Obviously she has no sense to subtract which is what we learned how to do in middle school. We were so disappointed in your resturant and your staff. I have been in restaurants where my food was just sent back and cooked to my liking and came back fine and I ate it but they easily took it off the ticket and didn't take over fifteen minutes and give me a lame excuse as to why she can't do simple math and work a computer/calculator. The least she could have done was to politely come out apolygize that she needed more time to work with the computer and if she could give us some coffees, more to drink and a dessert while we wait on her and the waitress. It took two of them to work the computer and still took them way to long. Any other restaurant would want their customers to be happy so that they will tell all their friends to come to the restaurant and so they will come back. But I guess not in your place. To top it all off which to me is the biggest deal much worse then being treated like common dirt. Is...Dear Sir or Madame...your roach problem. I am not lying to try and get out of something or to make you angry. I am telling you this because you should be informed. As we were leaving I went into your bathroom and as I was sitting there I saw a roach as plain as the nose on my face laying there in the floor. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Surely that wasn't what that was. As I came out I got the attention of another member of my party to look at it. She agreed that it was in fact a roach. I just about lost my dinner right there all over your nice rustic floor. I had to calm myself down and try not to think about it. Another lady that was in the restroom looked down and saw it and said, "oh my god that is a roach that is disgusting. " Then she asked "have you ate yet." I said,"unfortunatly yes, have you." She said, "no thank goodness, glad I found this out." The lady I was with killed your little disease carrying bug and all three of us rushed out of there as fast as we could. We told everyone in our party and I know that the other tables overheard us. You are lucky that the health inspector didn't see it and for that matter that I wasn't a health inspector. I cannot believe I saw something like that in such a nice looking restaurant. I guess that goes to show you looks don't matter. I can only imagine how many little sick creatures you have that we can't see. I don't even want to think about it. I don't want to think about roaches crawling around on food and carrying diseases on them. I was so excited about going to your restaurant. It looks really awesome on the outside and inside. I loved the rustic look and the pond and fireplace out front. But...sadly I will NEVER be back to your restaurant. No one that I know will be back in your restaurant. Anyone I know that is going to the beach will not be in your restaurant. And I'm pretty sure the other ladies will do the same. That is very dangerous to have disease carring bugs in your restaurant. You could get someone really sick. You need to shut your doors, call the exterminator, get the bugs killed, clean your entire restaurant from top to bottom, throw out any food that might have been contaminated, and hope to God this don't ruin you. I have already went on other websites and put a review like this about your restaurant in fear that someone would get deathly sick. You need to do something about your fine restaurant. Get rid of the unprofessional, rude, incompetant manager and waitress. And especially get rid of the roach problem. I cannot believe this...I cannot believe if there was one just laying there in the open that NO ONE in that ENTIRE restaurant hasn't seen another one and said something or done something about it. I guess the kitchen staff is just as incompetant and don't know to tell the owner he has a roach problem and something needs to be done. I would hate to think what else goes on in that kitchen of yours. I would hate to think this information gets into the wrong hands and there would be a huge embarassing news story of it and your doors being shut by the health department and you lose so much more than just 20 dollars. I hope that you will do something constructive about this vital information you have received. That you won't over look it and take it as someone wanting a free ride. TAKE HEED!!

The best place for seafood. My boyfriend and I loved the alligator, crab cake and conch fritter appetizer. As for the main course EXCELLENT!!!! The fried oysters and shrimp were delicious and the grilled blackened grouper that I ate was the best that I have ever eaten. The atmoshpere at IFC was fantastic. The service was also great. I highly recommend IFC to anyone who enjoys great seafood. We will definately be back the next time we are on vacation in Myrtle Beach. LOVED IT!!!!! Four big thumbs up!!!!

We are locals and had never been, but heard great reviews about Islamorada! My boyfriend and I went for happy hour. We were immediately seated at the sushi bar and watched them prepare our food. The only bad thing was that when we walked in, the heel of my shoe got stuck in the floor and when we walked out, we noticed a dead fish in the fish tank. Anyway, enough about the bad. The food and prices were great! We used a coupon for a free alligator tail appitizer which tasted like chicken. We also ordered sushi for half price and it was excellent. We will definately go back!

I've lived in Myrtle Beach for 10 years and have been coming here on vacation for 10 before that... This was the worst food I have ever had in this area... Pricey and the grouper I had had a very frozen taste and texture... I will never return nor will anybody I know if I have anything to do with it!!! TERRIBLE.

The food was pitiful. My wife ordered the salmon and I had skewered shrimp. Both came out cold and tasteless. The baked potatoes were under baked and served cold. All of that and only $60.00... Could not get out of the place quick enough. Will not go back. Would not recommend this place to anybody.

I just have to say I came in on December 30th and it was soooooo good. I had the best flounder here that I have ever had in my life. All my food was excellent. I will definitely make this a place I have to visit when I return to Myrle Beach which is usually several times a year.

We are locals who live on the south end of the Grand Strand so venturing to North Myrtle Beach doesn't happen very often. However, we'd heard so many wonderful things about IFC that we made the trek for a Saturday Lunch.

Upon arriving at 2pm on a Saturday, we found the place about 10% full. We were immediately seated. BTW, there are NO bad seats in this restaurant! Our 12 year old son was highly entertained by the decor as well as the amazing fish tank.

I must say the waitress we had (Jess M) was an absolute dream! Our beverages never got to a halfway point without having a refill waiting. Our bread (which is AMAZING!!) basket seemed to be endless! She was one of the best servers we've ever had!

Our order consisted of Grouper Sandwich plates. I was rather disappointed in them. They were thin slices of, what is supposed to be one of the best eating fish ever, that had been WAY overcooked leaving them hard at the edges as well as dry. I've never resorted to putting any sort of sauce on my Grouper on any other occasion, but found myself doing so this time.

I'm rating the food as average at this point because the bread along with the sides that came with our sandwich plates were superb. We will go back again when tourist season lets up a bit to enjoy the experience so many others seem to have!

Loved Loved Loved this restaurant! I was on vacation in Myrtle Beach and found it so lovely that we ate there three times, you just couldn't keep us away. I love sushi and found the Crunch Roll and JB roll delightful! Others in my group had the grilled Grouper sandwich original style and it was also just as delicious! The alligator tail appetizer and the coconut shrimp were very satisfying. The green sauce that comes with the alligator tails is delicious and highly recommended. The orange marmalade tasting dip with the shrimp was also delicious. The fish fingers were also a hit and just enough to eat for a small lunch with the geat side salads that they serve!! Attention any parents out there: appetizers make great kids meals when ordered with a side of fries. I am not a parent but did see many scouring the menu. I would highly recommend the fish finger appetizers as kids meals. Overall, the experience was great. Our server was a local named Ashley and she was outstanding!!

My only complaint was that the hostesses were very rude and uninterested when we walked in. We practically had to smack them to get their attention and even then they just stared at us. We practically had to beg for seats and then seat ourselves. The restaurant is rather large and when the other two from our group tried to find us, the hostess said "in there" and pointed through the door... not very helpful! These girls need to take more pride in service rather than themselves!

Don't let the hostesses deter you. This is a great restaurant with a great wait and bus staff!!! A+++++++

While I have enjoyed Islamorada several times, I have noticed that the quality of the food is uneven. Some items we have ordered were terrific and well prepared; we ordered two orders of mussels this time, that came out cold, not once, but twice! My son had wonderful ribs, but my husband's fish was in a most unappetizing looking sauce with overcooked edges on it. Good, but not the best on the beach by far...

The Restuarenat was beautiful, nice a clean. Service was terrible. Maybe i was there on a bad day but i was harassed,

And it was with a medium size crowd. The management made some poor decisions. Prices were slightly high. I've been a local my whole life. I would never waste another dollar there again.

We used to live in Calabash and work in Conway. We loved to stop and have a couple of beers and eat.

The crab cake sandwich and the grouper are our favorites.

We have since moved to Winston Salem and still come back every 2-3 months for a long weekend.

IFC is the "Must Visit" every time.

We enjoyed a trip to the beach for Thanksgiving and happened upon this restaurant after shopping at the Bass Pro Shops. I am familiar with the original in Isamorada and was interested in the food they prepared. We found the meals well prepared and presented. I would especially recommend the grits and shrimp! The level of service was great and the live music added atmosphere. Don't pass this place up!

We dined for lunch at the Islamorada Restaurant. The service was excellent; however, we found the food unacceptable for the price. We were very disappointed and will not return. The quality of the clam crowder was not even up to grocery store variety. All the sandwiches were overpriced and the potato salad was bland. We had a grouper sandwich which was small and tasteless. We dine out every day and decided to try this quaint looking restaurant. What a mistake!

Hate leaving a bad review , But feel I need to do so .The grouper which is supposed to be fresh was dry and very bland for being lightly blackend. When asking the waitress if it was really fresh she laughed and said "everything comes frozen", that they very rarely have fresh catch of the day. Very high priced , The female bartender is rude.

The only ony good thing at this place is the coconut shrimp , The fry cook there needs a raise .We were seated right away at noon humm?? No one was there . Now I know why .. will not go back...

We have been here 4 times. On they day they opened we had the grilled grouper reuben, which was excellent. With our experiences on the 3 following visits, I can only assume the chef from the original Islamorada was there that first day. The best I can say about the food is that is bland, and I do not recommend the sushi. All of the sushi seems to be soaked in the same brown sweetish glaze (supposedly unagi glaze). The service was, each time with different servers, shall we say, lacking. The bartender was quite rude and not very knowledgeable. I really don't like to badmouth anyone and rarely take the time to write a bad review, but I felt compelled to send a warning.

As a resident of the Connecticut shoreline, it was a pleasure to have dinner in such a well decorated and well staffed restaurant. Where we come from the seafood is "fresh caught" that day and the quality and freshness of yours was outstanding. Waiter "Barry" was fast, friendly, humorous and attentive. Being an outdoorsman I felt like I was in a log cabin with a huge fieldstone fireplace and a virtual museum of fish and wildlife. It was an outstanding dinner experience with my family and we will surely return again!

My family eats here every week and when we have guests in town, this is where we come. This is the BEST place BY FAR to get sushi. The rolls are HUGE and if you go for happy hour they're only $3-4 per roll and you get like 10 pieces per roll!!! It takes a lot of sushi to fill us and we get out of there for less than $20 WITH having a bar beverage EACH! It's AWESOME.

My husband and I ate here when we were in Myrtle Beach for Bike Week. We have eaten at your Islamorada location dozens of times and we love it. When we saw there was a fish company in Myrtle Beach we were overjoyed! The food was excellent as always, although the atmosphere is not as great as the Keys (no sunsets!), we enjoyed it just the same. Now if only we could get a Fish Company at the Harrisburg Bass Pro Shop...

I first stopped in for a bite with my twin nine year olds a few months ago. We have been regulars ever since! I have never had better tasting seafood, excellent, friendly hosts, waiters and waitresses anywhere...ever!! I haven't been in the kitchen, but, I wonder...who cooks this delicious food and where are they from?? They are true artists preparing each tasty bite to absolute perfection! My children ask me weekly if we can eat here. I've taken a few friends to lunch there too, and they are always well satisfied. I have read some of the other reviews, some folks actually complain about the price of the food being too high...in my opinion, it's MORE than fair! I actually expected it to be substancially higher due to the quality of the food and service...I always have plenty of money left after paying the bill to leave a nice tip to the well deserving waiter/waitress. Our waitress last night was a darling girl named Brooke, she tended to our every need in a prompt, friendly way that made the whole meal even more enjoyable.I could go on and on, but, I'll end by saying...if you have yet to eat there, then do yourself a favor...GO AND GRAB A BITE!!! You won't be sorry. You'll become a regular!!

This was our second visit to this restaurant. Both visits have been in the early evening so there is no sound problem. We were seated by the fireplace and it was very inviting. One entree was shared and this was done with no problem. One of our party had a pasta dish and found it to be quite bland. It would be nice to perhaps offer some simple broiled fish items. Our servers were very pleasant as was the front desk staff as we entered and left. Of course the Key Lime Pie, which we shared, was wonderful.

My husband and I celebrated our 44th wedding anniversary with you and found it to be a maaaaarvelous experience. The wait staff couldn't have been more amenable and their cheerie attitudes really helped us to celebrate a momentous occasion. The atmosphere and cleanliness were really superb. Thank you for coming to Myrtle Beach. I've already taken several friends there and recommended your facility to many more. Keep up the good work.

A pleasant surprise for both myself and my wife. Waitress was helpful beyond the call. My wife with a walking handicap was well cared for.The watress asked if we had a shopping slip from pro bass next door as then we would be given a free dessert. Seeing we ate before we shopped we were told to come back with a receipt and they would give us credit for our keylime pie dessert. We did just that to complete a fine lunchen and shopping experience.

My husband and I went here for dinner with friends, and the band was so loud that we had to practically shout at one another. Service was Below average. Food was good, but it was overpriced. However, the first time I went here was when I went for lunch with a friend, and it was a totally positive expereince. The atmosphere was quiet, prices were reasonable, and service and food were very good. Final concensus: Great lunch spot, avoid at dinnertime

My husband and I had lunch there today. The food was great. The service was very good, and the atmosphere was quiet and lovely. We were going to go to the movies but we walked around the restaurant and the Bass Shop instead. There was so much to see. I would love to have the people in all the photographs identified underneath the pictures. I did recognize Ernest Hemingway and I think there were pictures of Zane Grey also. We had a great time and we will be back!
