I had talked my husband into trying the food here as i have been to Germany and always wanted to find some good weiner schnitel. I also wanted some real german cheesecake which they did not have. Well the food was terrible and my husband has never let me forget dragging him to this place!

I dont know why anyone would go here --we have tried it twice since we like German food and hoped it would get better. It didnt. There are far better places to get a meal.

The food is great...the entertainment is fun. If you are a fuddy duddy...then stay at home you probably wouldn't like it or anything else... I love this place! We eat there everytime we go to the beach. The service is great and the people are so friendly.

We saw this restaurant advertised last year after we had visited Germany the previous year and decided to give it a try. It is a very authentic German restaurant in every detail down to the marked beer glasses and German bier. We have now made it a regular stop on our visits to the beach, something that is rare for us to do with restaurants there.

This was our third trip to Myrtle Beach and our third trip to Horst Gasthaus. It will be a tradition from here out. The food is authentic and delicious. Our children love the atmosphere. Don't come expecting a quiet experience but expect to be entertained. German John rules the sqeeze box. The Black Forest cake is fabulous.

My golf group eats at Horst Gasthaus twice a year (our spring and fall trips). The food is always excellent and a great value. The sausage platters are excellent; we really like their red cabbage too. "German John" is a hoot- always lively and fun. If you want to go to a restaurant for quiet conversation this is not the place to go. The atmosphere is lively and can be noisy. But we always leave completely satisfied and have eaten there for 8 straight years. Many restaurants have come off our list over the years, but not Horst Gasthaus. Enjoy!

My family and I went to Horst Gasthaus September 2004, and absolutely loved it!! The food was excellent and it was really a fun place to go. My 5 year old daughter danced and had a wonderful time. We are going back to MB June 2005 and are going back to Horst Gasthaus!! Thanks for the great restaurant!!! God Bless..

Awesome place if you know what an authentic German restaurant is like! Unlike the other people who thought they were going for a quiet boring dinner. They also have a great selection of German beers, I wish they had the liter mugs because there is nothing like a very big beer!!!

This restaurant is as close to Germany as you can get without actually going there. The authentic food, German beverages and staff are A+. Live entertainment, something that is rare for a restaurant in the Myrtle Beach Area but a really nice touch. A must for vacationers and locals alike!!

I have to agree with the above review. Our first experience there was novel as the 'entertainer' WAS funny but very loud. Table conversation was minimal at best because we couldn't hear each other & the place was pretty empty. The food was authenticly German. Our second trip (6 months later) we opted for bar seating as we didn't want to be 'loudly entertained' but needed a schnitzel fix. The restaurant was very busy and the dishes we had were thoroughly overcooked. There won't be a third trip for awhile.

It is impossible to eat and talk at this restaurant. There is only one man singing and making music, but he sounds like a big brass band and it is not at all pleasant. We had eaten here in the past, but this last year vowed never to go again. Our guests were very dissappointed after we had told them how much fun it was. The noise was much too much and the food was mediocre.
