This was our first visit to the Great American Steak & Buffet restaurant, but it will definatley not be our last. We have visited Myrtle Beach for the past 3 yrs. over the Christmas holidays and there are so many places to eat that it's hard to choose where to go. There is now one place that is at the top of the list and that's here. All of the food was excellent and we even got to try some new dishes that we had never had before. The only thing I'd change would be the suggestion of placing name cards above the items to identify what the dish is, other than that there is nothing to improve on....what an awesome place to eat!!! ref: 9575

I came upon this place by mistake and it was like hitting the lottery. The food was delicious and my children loved it. We were looking for a good seafood place which was in our price range but every other place was too expensive. The food here is good and I loved the steaks. I could have eaten until I exploded. Cooked to order steak, delicious. Buffet had lots of variety and everything I tried was excellent. Went back when out of town family visited and they all were impressed as well. Wish there was one of these restaurants in Charleston. Its closer ref: 9236

This was our first trip here. My parents had been before on their last vacation, and said it was really good. They were right. They have a bit of everything. Our 3 year old loved it, she had so many choices that she didn't know what to get. The waiter was a little slow in getting us drink refills and etc, plus the day we where there, the air conditioner was out, so it was really HOT! Of course, that is nothing that they can really control. The food was great, the people were nice, plus we used a coupon and got an even bigger discount. This place is really a great place, I would visit again and again. Highly recommended!!! ref: 7136

Great American Steak and Buffet is by far the best buffet mainly because it has such a large variety of food but what's even better is everything is full of flavor like Grandma’s cooking, especially the country dishes and meats, even the fish taste good. I live within 25 miles so I visit regularly and always take my guests to dine there. The restaurant is usually busy however, the atmosphere is always very nice and the people are very friendly. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a tasty, very satisfying, yet reasonably priced dinner or lunch especially if you have a sweet tooth because they have a fabulous dessert bar with all the homemade favorites. Three of us vacationed in Myrtle Beach in Feb. 2006 and are returning the same time this year. This restaurant is our favourite choice. The "grilled to order" steaks are awesome!! Many wonderful country style side dishes to choose from the buffet. Great desserts! Friendly, courteous staff. We will definitely keep returning to this restaurant. ref: 4769

As far as value goes, there's nothing on the Grand Strand that touches this place. For the food and service the customer gets every pennys worth. A very diverse buffet that includes cooked to order steaks (that are very good) and seafood, not mention a GREAT salad and dessert bar. Very economical with an early bird special. ref: 624

Each year when we are on vacation, we always eat at least one of our dinners there. With 3 teenagers who all have different tastes there is something for everyone. My husband and I love it too. We are looking forward to eating there again this year when we go to Myrtle Beach this summer. ref: 226

It is basically a buffet with steak, similiar to Ryans. Excellent choices of food, good price and plenty of "bars". Salad bar, dessert bar, steak bar, country bar, etc. ref: 113
