Horrible food, dirty carpeting, stains everywhere, Rude staff and horrible smells. I am from the South and this is not Southern Cuisine. Expensive to boot! Ate with my wife and four children, ages 2, 2, 5 and 6. FULL PRICE plus mandatory 18% gratuity for parties of 6 or more! For Buffett!! Are you kidding? Would have gladly given 20% for descent service and food in a full service restaurant but not for this disgusting swill! Never again! Gives Myrtle Beach a bad name.!

My family was at the arcade on Sunday 5/5/13 so I asked the taxi driver to take me to a good Southern restaurant. I could tell the chicken was dried out, and some of the salads on the salad bar was questionable, but for 9 bucks you couldn't really beat it. The waitress kept the place very lively with her smile and attitude, she was so nice and friendly I would have felt bad complaining. It looked like she was running the place by herself, and she cant be any older than 22. May come again for the atmosphere, might try the menu next time though.

Disgusting isn't a strong enough word. How can you mess up breakfast? Horrible sanitary conditions. Rubbery bacon, watery eggs, everything else looked like some sort of "glop." Coffee tasted like dishwater and although you receive a bottomless cup, you wouldn't want to drink it, (but you are charged $2.50 for it). All food seems to have been sitting for a VERY long time. Not sure how this place hasn't been shut down by the health department. Grandma's kitchen makes the Waffle House seem like fine dining. I am so fortunate to not have gotten violently ill.

Please do not waste you time or $$$$! It cost me, my husband, 6 yr old and 1 yr old $35 to eat the breakfast buffet. They charged 18 % gratuity because we dined with my parents. A party of 6 (which included my 1 yr old). The food was nasty. The place was dirty. My 6 year old kept saying it smells like dirty basement in this place!

My husband and I stopped here when we visited the beach, our intentions were to stop at Mammy's a restaurant up the road but being me I was soo hungry and begged my husband to stop at Grandmas instead... Horrible Idea!!!! For starters we came in and there was not a lot of customers in the restaurant yet we waited anywhere from 15-20 min to be seated. We asked a waitress how much the buffet was she said $9 for each! If I am paying that much the food should be at least edible. The buffet from our table looked ok, smelled ok, it was hot you could see the steam coming off of it, but when you went to eat it, it was another story! Now I don't know about yalls Grandmas but mine has never f***ed up Mac N Cheese but somehow they figured it out! My husband is a big guy when we go to buffets he has like three or four plates. He got a plate full and only ended up eating two hushpuppies. I attempted my plate and was so disgusted by the food I wanted to turn it away. Then I look up and saw a sign this restaurant has on the buffet. We have the right to charge for wasted foods. So I sit there miserably trying to scarf my food down because I had a full plate. I dare them to charge anyone for wasted foods maybe if they would fix something edible nobody would waste your foods! Anyway we both left there stomachs rumbling and -$25.

Caution! we go to myrtle beach alot each year, but will never eat at grandmas again. The old man never greeted us and the staff was slow as grandmaw.two tables got up and left after waiting twenty minutes for something to drink. The little waitress is his grand daughter and is very rude, dirty, nasty, and as we say here in the south, looked like a garden tool. When my wife asked for some tea she slammed it down and walked away. So I corrected her problem for her and she ran to grandpaw. I told him not to be talking about us behind our backs, then told him I was reporting them to the bbb .his reaction was to go ahead. So grandpaw ,i did ! the food was cold and old looking. A smoked possum would have tasted better. All the other restaurants are great and very nice owners. I promise you won't get food poisoning in other restaurants.i hope and pray that they would be closed down by the health departmet soon.we are trying our best here in eastover,s.c with dehec to make this happen. Oh, if you do to go there anyway, update you're health insurance and go by the bank first.it took us three weeks to get that nasty taste out of our mouths. Where is grandmaw ???? the truths hurt .

This place draws you in with the name and country-style decor. Bad all around. Ordered four adult buffets and one childrens buffet. The five of us ate about one plates worth. Food was just bad. Over salted and undercooked. Waitress and staff were not suprised by our complaints.

First let me say I wish I read here first, but unfortunately I was there and just came across it! it was a toss up between there and the buffet at the hotel, you would figure it would be better there, right? wrong! first the prices were not reasonable at all. $2.50 for a side of toast????? me and my wife ordered the breakfast buffet and ordered our small children 2,5,6 year olds a couple sides and decided to split it. Because we all know they don't eat much and 4.99 for a child's buffet was way too high! so we began with getting up and getting our plates and walking the buffet line. Everything looked very low end and cheap. I started with one plate of an assortment of items ate two or three bites and ended up pushing the nearly full plate to the side. On my second attempt I got some gravy and biscuits the biscuits were hard as a rock and the gravy tasted like nothing but flour. I push that full plate to the side as well. I ended up getting my third and final plate of fruit and it was bland and just plain nasty. My wife had the same problem as well with her food. Her last plate she tried some bananas in a strawberry syrup. She said it was nasty and pushed it to the side. My 6 year old son said he would like to try a bite. So she let him try a bite. Then after that horrid experience. We got our ticket. $50.55 for two adults and three small children for breakfast??????? I examined the ticket after the waitress threw it on the table and ran. We were charged for a child's buffet???? well our waitress was no where to be found, so we grabbed the nearest one. The manager! we questioned her, she said the our waitress saw us feeding our kids off the buffet. One bite of a banana and your feeding them off the buffet. Lmbo. Well needles to say I was mad. I will never ever even look at this place again and would stop people I see walking to this place and tell them they would have a better experience at the burger king down the street. The only thing that keeps this place alive are the unsuspecting people on vacation that come in. But they will not get me again! just plain nasty!.

To start this place was just disgusting! When we came in we didn't receive menus so we decided to go with the lunch buffet. The food was terrible! Much of the food wasn't labeled and I was scared to eat it. The food that was labeled wasn't much better, it was just plain gross! The service was also very bad, and they charged us extra because we were not locals. I would not ever recommend eating at Grandma's Kitchen to anyone! It was by far the worst place I have ever gone to eat!

This restaurant is horrible. The service is almost nonexistent. Everyone in my party had the buffet at breakfast and it was disgusting. I had a slice of bacon and 1 bite of eggs and was charged 7.25. My 2 kids were charged 4.25 each and ate like 3 bites of food. I was told if you got anything off the bar you had to pay. I try to go to local places and not chains when I vacation but I will never visit this place again The waitress only came to our table once and I was charged 18% tip. The woman(manager?) at the register was extremely rude. I will be warning all my friends and family to stay away from here.

We were looking for a place to eat breakfast in Myrtle Beach on Aug, 14th, 2010. We chose Granny's Kitchen becuase of the Breakfast Buffet. We had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated, but there were dirty tables that just needed to be cleaned off, but they made us wait. We were finally seated and looked at the menu and it was $4.99 for a Child's Buffet. My grandbaby is almost 2 and she might eat a saucer full if that much. We asked the waitress about this when she took our order. She said, "she has to have her own plate and can not share." There was a note on the bottom of the menu that said 'parties of 6 or more will be charged an 18% gratuity. There was 6 adults and 1 baby. My mom went up and looked at the buffet and it was GROSS! She went and sat in the van so that we would be 1 less for the gratuitous tip. The sandwiches on the menu were $5.00 but if you wanted tomato it was another $1.50. My son, my son-in-law, grandbaby, and I ordered the buffet. The food was so disgusting, we couldnt eat it. When my son-in-law got the bill, they had charged $2.50 for a child's cup of milk!! When I went to the register the cashier didnt ask how everything was because she knew not to ask. When my son in law got up there to pay for his, he asked if milk was expensive in Myrtle Beach? The lady rudely said, what are you talking about? He said, you all charged $2.50 for a baby's milk! She said, I dont set the prices and I am not going to listen to your smart mouth!! Oh and did I mention the roof is falling in from mold and leaking. Please avoid this restaraunt like the plague when you are looking for a place to eat in Myrtle Beach!!

I am a local...and if I was forced to eat this food more than once, I would move away faster than anything you have ever seen move in your life! I went to this place on the suggestion of a dear friend, and to my dismay it was disgusting. Just the skeevy look of the interior turned my stomach. I felt like I was not only seated at, but eating at a pigs trough in some rural country farm! My Grandma would not even serve this food to starving Ethiopians, let alone people paying good money to eat in this low quality establishment of dumpster food left overs from other restaurants! Not to mention the treatment of us by the staff was appalling, no manger would talk to us as one was not on premisses, and they said after we paid, they would send us a refund! HA! We were told when we called the next day that we had to speak to Earl, and after waiting 20 minutes, we were then told Earl left the building...I guess the Dixie Chicks were right...he realy did enjoy those black eyed peas!!! DISGUSTING! I needed a stomach pump and a shower when I left this place.

Or is Grandma dead rest her sole poor dear she must have eaten the food!!! I used to come here all the time with many friends that came to visit from out of state and always found the food at lunch to be fresh and the fried chicken to be just like grandma made at home BUT NO MORE the service was terrible the waitress was nasty and the Chicken never appeared nor did the roast pork or were there steaks left and the potatoe salad was SOUR and when asked to speak to a manager or the owner I was told I would have to wait while the restaurant was serviced when asked could I just have a phone number I again was told by the RUDE waitress that I would have to wait! Are you freaking kidding me DEHEC needs to be calle dto pay a visit! And I will do that after sending this e-mail.Have you just stopped caring?? I will be sure to review this in the local paper and let all know not to patronize your place. This was the worst place my husband and I have ever eaten. When we got to the restaurant there were two tables with people eating. Had to wait 20 minutes before someone came to the front to seat us. The food on the bar tasted like it had been there all day. The fish had no meat left in it from being dried out. The only good thing was a new waitress who was very friendly she did keep our tea full to help swallow the food, finally just left and went to Mcdonalds.

I'm not a very picky person when it comes to dining out, but this place was absolutely disgusting. I'm not sure who managed to get the dinner buffet for 4 for $35, but ours was $65 for four people even with a coupon. DO NOT GET THE BUFFET. I'm not sure about their regular food, however. I'm not at all a health nut, but this food was swimming in grease. My aunt oversalts everything and loves extra salty food, but this was too salty for HER! Everything was cold and appeared to have been sitting there since early that morning. The place was empty at 6pm on a Saturday nite. When I talked to the elderly male cashier about the horrible quality of the food, and I was polite, he told me that I was full of it and that everyone else that day had said it was good. He was very rude and insisted on talking to a friend of his while we were trying to check out. He was not at all apologetic about the extremely poor quality of the food. They even had soup on the buffet with NO BOWLS anywhere in site. The "home baked" pies looked like they were baked 10 years ago. I have a feeling that "grandma" would be rolling over in her grave.

Absolutely terrible. I worst experience ever. The bill was over $60 and there was nothing good to eat. Even the mashed potatoes tasted horrible. The entire family was dissappointed. We went back to the room and ordered pizza. The length of time to be seated and noise was above average because there was hardly anyone there...should have been a clue.

Worst restaurant in Myrtle Beach. The buffet was dirty, the food was tasteless, unrecognizable, and looked old. Our waitress refilled our drinks by bringing over a large cup of soda and splashing it in each of our glasses. YUK!!!! We did make a friend - a fly that just would not leave us alone (or our food). Wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We paid over $60 for the dinner buffet for my family of 4, and the food was not at all good, alot of stuff you didnt know what it was, and they dont have labels or anything to tell you. The selection was horrible on the buffet...my entire family was disappointed, will not ever return there, would not recommend to anyone!

Definitely not worth the money, and its not even expensive. Got the Lunch Buffet- not much to choose from and what there was looked like it had been there since the morning before. Went to get a good home cooked-like meal, but was VERY dissappointed, worst dining experience in Myrtle Beach.

Their food was terrible. It was filthy. I refused to eat anymore after I saw the waitress wipe food off the floor when she was cleaning the table. I had to kick food out of the way to sit down. Some of the food I couldn't tell what it was.
