I must say I read all the reviews first. Didn't believe most until we actually tried it for ourselves. Everything you read about it is true. I had the Fish & Chips, not a cod fish eater but I still had to see if these could live up to the reputation. Absolutely did, great fish and the tarter sauce was the best I have had. My wife had the Guiness Stew and she couldn't believe there was a stew that was as close to her home coooked stew. If you are looking for great quality food without the expensive atmosphere, don't miss out on this hidden local place. I have been coming to MB for 30 years, and missed this one. Darn.

We just recently spent a week in Myrtle Beach. We were anxious to try this pub after many wonderful reviews. We were not disappointed. There were four in our party and we all loved our dishes. My husband raved about the "all you can eat" Monday special of roast beef. He especially loved the mashed potatoes seasoned with horseradish. We also had among us the fish and chips and Guiness stew. All fabulous. The owner was a wonderfully entertaining woman who sat and chatted with us, and who gave me a bottle of malt vinegar to take home with me when I explained that the restaurants at home never have this available for our fish and chips. We had such a great time we went back on our last night in town. Again, everything was perfect. We had a young waiter who was a doll. All in all, a great place. Especially on a Friday night with live music. (very crowded though, you might want to make reservations.) We strongly recommend Flynn's and look forward to returning next year. PS Save room for desserts!!!! Especially the pistachio and cream cheese on a shortbread crust.

We were staying at the Avista and the staff recommended Flynns as a great place to eat. Well...they were right. This pub was truly the greatest place to be at in the Myrtle Beach area. We ate there three different nights during our week long vacation. We tried other places but they couldn't compete with Flynns, so we spent our last two nights there. The food was amazing. Everything we ate was great. I couldn't get enough of the Fish and Chips. The corned beef and cabbage and the ruban's were great also. The servings were very generous and the prices were very inexpensive.

After we ate, we always ended up at the bar and had a few Guinness. I have never had Guinness that tasted so fresh. And the bartenders actually know how to pour it the right way. Thats something you don't find too often. We always ended the night trying some of their Irish Whiskeys. We tried Jameson, Tullamore Dew, and Middleton. They were all smooth especially the Middleton.

This is the place to be when visiting North Myrtle Beach. We love this place and we can't wait to come back.

My husband and I visited Flynn's for the first time in November. We were amazed at the food and drink quality. The Guinness was outstanding! They must sell alot because no other bar on the beach has Guinness that tasts so good. We split the chips with bleu cheese and bacon then later both ordered fish and chips. They were wonderful, but way too much food! We talked quite a bit with the bartender and a woman at the bar. The bartender told us about the wide selection of Irish Whiskeys, they carry over 20 Irish Whiskeys and the bartender knew about all of them. We then ordered an Irish Coffee, the woman at the bar recommended Tullamore Dew, her favorite. I have to agree, it was fantastic. My husband and I have now found our new favorite place!

I was not impressed at all and the service was awful. The old lady seemed to talk about everyone while chain smoking in the back!!!! That is rude and very unprofessional!!! I cannot beleive she is still working there or hasn't been fired yet. I felt like a number or just another tip for her. Although the draft was great and thats not saying much for my overall visit! I will never go back and I will tell everyone I know to never go either and I am a local.

As a local, everyone is always asking us where do the locals go? Well, I always say Flynn's is one of our favorites! We have kids and love the fact that the bar and restaurant and separated. The food is excellent and a great, family atmosphere. You can have anything from American fare to your Irish favorites. Gotta try the Bully Boy, the Irish Dip sandwich, or the fish & chips. Reaaly, there is nothing that anyone we have taken to Flynn's that they have not liked.

As for the bar, Marty serves it all! Get what you want with great service, friendly bartenders, and, on the weekends, great entertainment. If you hgave one night to go, make it Saturday and hear a couple sing that should be making records! Yes, they are that good.

I recently went to North Myrtle for vacation. I ate dinner at Flynn's 3 nights in a row. The Fish and Chips, Sheppard’s Pie and Bangers and Mash are the genuine article (I later found out the owner is from Ireland- I shouldn't have been suprised). My last night I went with the Prime Rib and was glad I did- outstanding. My only regret is that I didn't find Flynn's earlier in my vacation. A must visit if you like great food and cold Smithwicks.

We were just looking for a place to have a few after golf drinks - boy were we suprised! After several delicious appetizers for snacks we decided to make an evening of it. We called the wives to join us and everyone went home happy! From the awesome prime-rib, delicious grouper and an Irish stew that brought back childhood, everything was great! The price was right and the quality of food and service were outstanding! Just as we were about to leave to find a little night life this great group called Harlequin fired up in the corner - we were set for the night! Every one agreed, when choosing a place to stay for next year a new criteria has been added to the list- How close is it to Flynns!!

Decent food, not above or below average. I had fish and chips and was happy with my meal. I have had better fish and chips at other resturants. The service was good. The cost of the meal was a little higher than I would expect for what I ordered but wasn't out of line. If you are staying near Main St in North Myrtle Beach, give it a try. If you aren't staying near the resturant, don't make a special trip to eat here.

A true diamond in the rough! During my last visit to MB, I was in the mood for something a little different than just a seafood restaurant. This place was not too far from where we were staying and after reading the reviews, we decided to give it a try. Flynn’s is a half pub half restaurant kind of place so don't go in expecting anything fancy but the food and the prices are outstanding! I had the bangers and mash and my wife had a Reuben sandwich, both of which were very good. We followed up dinner with a serving of the Irish bread pudding, which was also very good and seemed to have been homemade. All of the food was made fresh (except for the sausages of course) and was very, very good. I would recommend this place too anyone seeking high quality Irish style fare at a very reasonable price. PS- did I fail to mention the draft that is served at the perfect temperature? CHEERS!

North Myrtle Beach best kept secret. We were looking for a local place that had great food. Well we found it. Not knowing what to expect, this little place was great. When we arrived, there was no waiting. In fact, there were only 4 other people seated in the place. There were a few in the pub, but I was wondering "where is the crowd?" This place has great food, and great service. This is a must on your North Myrtle Beach trip.

We decided to try the all you can eat roast beef on a Monday night. We arrived early and we seated immediately. It was not busy. Only a few members of our party tried the roast beef, which was excellent. Someone had a reuben, which was great. Someone else in the party had the irish stew, which was very good. The other person in the party had the chicken fingers, which were overdone. The fries were great. The biggest complaint was the server who waited on us. Once the food was dropped off, he was out of sight. One member of the party finally got up and went to find him so the other members of the party could get more roast beef. No refills on the drinks either. It was very disappointing to our group since we had looked forward to dinner there.

We ate at Flynn's three times in 2005 and look forward to returning at Easter Break 2007. If you are looking for ambiance, Irish style, this is the place to be. Check out the Guinness poster with the mice. Try everything Irish on the menu! Finally lift a Guinness or a Harp they are both chilled just right. What a find.

We drove from Orlando to be in Myrtle Beach a day early for our family vacation so we could be at Flynn's on St. Patrick's Day. It was AWESOME!!!!!! We had to wait a little bit but Jane was great and the corned beef and cabbage was unbelievable. The portions were HUGE.... We went back later in the week with my parents and I had Bangers and Mash and could not finish it all. The onion soup is delicious and so is the she-crab soup. We discovered the great place a couple of years ago and it is now a must when we come to Myrtle Beach. We plan on retiring here in a few years and this will definitely be a favorite spot of ours.

We called during the day and were told to come early, which we did. We were greeted by a hostess that frantically told us we'd have to wait until 8:30, it was about 4:30 then. She was expecting 63 people that weren't all expected, seemed it was the committee for St. Patricks Day. Then, she said we could sit in the bar, which we did, but no one came to wait on us. My husband went up to the lady bartender, who was wonderful, we had great draft beer and terrific corned beef and cabbage. We knew we were going to order the corned beef and cabbage because that is their Wednesday night special so it was easy to order without seeing a menu. We raved about it all through dinner. It was far exceeding a corned beef dinner we had in Little River last St. Patrick's season. Portions was generous, taste was outstanding. When we got back, we realized that we never got the Irish Soda Bread that was supposed to come with it but it didn't matter. The experience proved to be excellent after the first impression. We will be there several times before we head back North!

For a evening of fun and reasonably priced food, visit the tavern on Friday or Saturday night. The live entertainment is good and so is the food and atmosphere. Mostly an age of 40 plus crowd. It is a good place to visit. Only negative is the cigarette smoke. A quieter atmosphere exist on the other nights.

Flynn's is a wonderful Irish tavern that must delight tourists as well as locals. The pub is filled with great Irish, baseball and boxing memorabilia. I noted the tables have recently been upgraded to a shammrock embedded design, which certainly adds to the Irish flavor of the pub. They also added seating on the front porch, with uniquely designed tables reminding guests of Emerald Isle. Another nice touch is that the proprietors greet you and engage you in a few minutes of conversation. This enchanting ambiance combined with traditional Irish fare and spirits provides an great dining experience.. whether on vacation or just enjoying a night out.

Flynn's is actually a pub, and a restaurant, having two separate areas side by side. The pub serves typical Irish pub fare and has live music. I had the Ploughman's lunch, a pickled assortment that goes well with strong brews. The restaurant offers haute cusine, a much more refined menu, and is worth a visit when spending a few days in North Myrtle Beach. We always make Flynn's a two-fer, once at the pub and again in the dining room.
