As a local I frequently visit Flo's place. The atmosphere both inside and out are great. The food is delicious and the staff are so friendly and attentive. Why drive all the way through Inlet traffic when there is such a great place before all of that! You won't be disappointed!

Ordered black & blue hamburger rare - came well done. The basket it came in was filled with french fries. This was also true for everyone who ordered the shrimp basket. My third time there, won't return anytime soon. Those who had the mussells and crawfish and shrimp bowl were satisfied.

Great atmosphere with great views. Crab dip was just ok...chips with it were not tortilla chips as described but more of a sweet dessert chip. The Red Beans and Rice with Sausage was lacking any flavor at all. It seemed odd to be a New Orleans style restaurant with very bland food. We will try it out again, but probably order some fried seafood.

2/2011 Friendly hostess and waiter Ordered 3 item fried combo: Flounder had a strong fishy taste, oysters were tough, and scallops small. Could not finish. Sorry for the poor review but it was honestly not worth the money.

My family being local attends flos regulary. We love it! The servers are always so nice and we never had to wait that long to be seated. It has a new orleans feel and music to match. The fried seafood basket it great and you get so much food with it. Enough for two meals. Also the Poboys are amazing! Make sure you try the Flo's green sauce!!! We buy it and take it home! You have the choice to set inside, out on the higher roofed deck or an even lower uncovered deck. You overlook the marsh but remeber if you want to see water check the tide chart. If not you will look at mud but you still see alot of wild life and the waitstaff can tell you about what you are seeing! Its a great place and you really feel at ease.

The food was lousy and so was the service. The waitress also spilled a a gallon of tea in my lap. She did not even offer me a free meal. When I asked she said she would take off the tea. Thanks a lot a whole $2.00 I will never go back and advise anyone else reading this the same.

My wife and I always travel to Murrell's Inlet during the summer and on this trip we were told to try to go to Flo's place for some good seafood. We have never been there before so we thought we would give it a try, as soon as we walked into the restraunt we were surrounded by what seemed to be something right out of mardi gras party in New Orleans. There was so many friendly people there that we felt right at home, are servers name was Mike and he was really nice and funny. He explained the menu to us in great detail and suggested we get the crab stuffed flounder and wow were glad we did it was some of the best seafood we have ever had. My wife and I will always come back to Flo's place every time we come back and would recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Let's Just say THE BEST PLACE EVER!!! We decided to have dinner there on Sunday around sixish, it was a group of eight of us. We were all greeted at the door by this cute southern gal whith smiles & high fives, the host sat us in the dining area near the JAzz band that was playing, they were great!!! I got up and danced and earned MY MARDI GRAS BEADS :) We started off with the BEST GUMBO I have ever eaten which the server explained was made with a homeade rue (she was very informative about the whole menu!) We chowed down on aligator nuggets & fried pickles all were very yummy! For dinner I had the Bourban Street Bowl which was to die for!!!! It was a dish served with mussels, clams, & shrimp sautee with a wonderful wine, onion and tomato gravy on top rice, with a side of delicious garlic bread which I had to order more of to dip in the sauce!!! Flo's Place has a hundred thumbs up in my book, and I will be back every trip I make, it is fun, friendly, and layed back, I LOVE IT!!!

My boyfriend and I were vacationing in Myrtle beach and decided to go to Murrells Inlet for dinner with his brother and girlfriend. We were incredibly disappointed with our choice. We are from NY and never heard of a hushpuppy, and when we asked our waitress what it was she gave us quite a look and answered pretty rudely. Our waitress had an attitude all night and was extremely unpleasant. The food was nothing to talk about, none of us really enjoyed our meals. The only nice thing about this place was sitting out on the deck, but I would not recommend this place to anybody.

Our first restaurant to dine at on our Memorial Day weekend and unfortunately for us, put my husband out of commission for the rest of the weekend. We figured out it was the crab legs he had here, as I had everything else he had and wasn't deathly sick like he was. A word of caution to anyone who ventures here- be careful of what you order!

Four of us had lunch today. Only 3 employees working, said they didn't expect a large lunch crowd. Memorial Day weekend....duh?? Waiter was also cooking. Gumbo was mostly rice, with little meat. Fried flounder was old tasting. Extremely small cup of cole slaw. Blackened hamburger was good. Only ate 1/2 because it was so big. Fr. fries were plentiful and hot. Waiter replenished our sweet with unsweet tea, I think he was frazzled. He asked if everything was all right. When told about the flounder, he laughed a nervous laugh, but did not offer any compensation or even an apology. Would not go again.

One half hour after we were seated all we had to show for it was a cup of coffee. Noone had taken our food order. We left without ordering. The front desk was very nice and did not charge us for the coffee,

This was during the off season and the place was not crowded, so there was no excuse for this kind of service.

BAD, BAD, BAD!!! We live 1 mile from Flo's and will NEVER go back. We were completely ignored for 15 minutes- while the waitress helped tables around us. No acknowlgement of us at all. WE LEFT! The two Bimbos at the front never said anything. With so many restaurants in the area, how can you not even care about your customers?? We are long time residents and can find good restaurants along the Grand Strand everyday. Good Bye forever Flo's!!

Shrimp, scallops, and oyster basket was great! Seafood done right, and a nice hardy portion. Children's menu was perfect as well, with lot's of the kiddie's favorites. Service, and ambience of the inlet were just what we look for when we are in the area. Went twice during our week in July, and will definitely go again next summer. Left with a bottle of Flo's famous green sauce...just to get us through the year until our next visit.

Went to Murrells Inlet to eat and should have realized when all of the other restaurants were packed with a mile long wait outside their doors and Flo's parking lot was not even half full. Were greeted by a friendly gal and seated outside. Our server Todd was a real ass and acted like he would rather have a lobotomy then deal with us. We were not told specials (as we heard another server tell a nearby table) He was rude the entire time and scolded my husband like a child when he asked to substitue a salad for a vegetable. Food was mediocre at best. Never asked us about desserts. Very poor experience. Next year we will wait in line at Bovine's or Drunken Jack's with everyone else....

We've never had to wait for a table, which I just can't understand because the food is MUCH better than the places we've gone and waited 2+ hours. Things have changed since Flo left but we are never disappointerd with the Po-Boys, and they have the abosolute best Onion straws in the Inlet. Always look forward to going to Flo's. Well the five of us (2 adults & 3 chilren) had dinner and no alcohol-total bill $$$. My wife's cod was ok, my chicken tasted like it had been microwaved, our son's chicken and fries were microwaved, the other two's pizza was different. The only thing good was the crab dip but for $$$ it should have been. Service was lousy. It took forever for the check after asking.Family thought I had ordered a dessert. The environment was nice except a lady taking photos and how about music from Louisiana! Like all of the decor. We will not return or recommend.

We waited to be seated for about half an hour, but the hostess was very pleasent, and entertaining. The atmosphere was very entertaining; we waited for our food for a good amount of time, but we hardly noticed because we were taking in the atmosphere. Our waitress was very apologetic about the wait. The food wasn't bad, the fried green tomatoes weren't bad, but were plain, and nothing special. The clam strips were good, and so were the hushpuppies, but the beans, rice and sausage was less than enjoyable. I wouldn't mind returning, but would be sure to be careful about the food selections to make.

With reading other reviews I somehow can't believe we ate at the same place. Have to agree with the review from 6/15/09 we apparently were at Flo's around the same time and both weren't happy with it. The food wasn't good in my opinion. The service was horrible, three peoples orders weren't complete and we mentioned it to two people and they both forgot to bring us the rest of our meal. On top of that, the crab legs even came out cold. I asked they take a meal off of our bill that someone with us couldn't even eat since his burger was smothered with Mayo which he didn't want and they would not do it, they offered to get us a free round of drinks, we agreed at first but then thought that might not be a wise idea! . So we went to the bar to "watch" them make our drinks and they were rattled there also. In my opinion it wasn't even busy??? I overheard a few of the staff arguing about them sitting people too fast and she couldn't keep up.. then another customer was annoyed with how slow they were also. I wanted to tell this young couple waiting to get seated to not waste their time but my cousin told me not to!! I ended up telling her to forget our "free" drinks and I just wanted to get out of there. We're use to being fast paced but by Wed in the South we are use to the slower service which is fine but put that on top of 10 other things that went wrong and that was just the icing on the cake. Would never eat their again.. sorry to say..

My husband and I treat ourselves to this restaurant 2-3 times a year. Prices are high, but we found THE DISH that makes this restaurant one of our favorites because of it: Parmesan Grouper. Once we found this dish, this is our usual every time we go. We also love their hush puppies, finding them the BEST IN THE AREA (inlcuding Myrtle Beach) and the price can't be beat (you can order them as an appetizer, and you get quite alot). We've had a few other entrees but can not rave anything else. Since we are locals, we try to go when tourist season is at a low, therefore we have never had to wait for seating and have always had great service each time there, the wait staff is very competent here.

We've been coming to Flo's on our annnual trip to the beach for about 15 years. In past years, we've eaten there as many as 4-5 times during the week. Like many, we're on a budget and typically go for lunch during the week. Starting this visit, Flo's lunch menu is no more. Paid nearly 70 bucks for non-alcoholic drinks, a couple of sandwiches, a big salad, and a bowl of gumbo. Thumbs down on this new pricing. Unfortunately, we won't be going back. Just can't afford it.

This is one of our favorites, just wish it was closer! if you like bloody marys, you have to get one - they are the best! all the appetizers are terrific, i've had several. The sandwiches are great, fries, cole slaw etc...i've only tried three of the entrees and didn't like one of them but the other two were ok. I would suggest an appetizer and a sandwich, with a bloody mary of course!.

We were seated as soon as we walked in the door and was given a great seat by the window. The atmosphere was really great and interesting, and the service was the best! We ordered a cup of red beans and rice and was told to add a touch of flos famous green sauce, it was the great! For dinner I had the Bayou Crabcakes which were to die for! Flos place is excellent for a good meal. If you like the laid back atmosphere, eat out on the deck overlooking the inlet. It is in such a charming location. The staff is super friendly. The food is to die for. THE ONLY DOWN SIDE... if you are a tourist be prepared to have cravings for this place when you go back home.

This one our first and last time eating at FLO'S we will never go back there, we wanted to have steamed oysters and boy did we get them they had shells in them and full of dirt, and ever over priced for the amount you got, then we got the seafood platter, it was more like a potatoe platter, guess if you can't have good food then you eat potatoes, we paid 20 bucks for a plate of potatoes that was the only thing that was any good, we would not tell anyone to go here, this was during the fall bike week and you would think that they would have done better with the food, so that you would come back during the sping rally but NO....we were not please with the food at all, will not go back, very bad food good service tho, the waiterss was very nice.

The food is so good! The crabcakes are are hands down the best I have ever had! The atmosphere was so fun and laid back. We sat out on the deck over looking the water and it was so beautiful. I loved the beads they gave my little boy and they had a great kids menu. We will go back every year when we go to the beach. It is so worth the trip!

This was my family's first trip to the Myrtle Beach area so I did a lot of research before we went. After reading the reviews for Flo's Place I knew that it was some place that we wanted to eat at and we were not disappointed. Although the parking lot was full we walked in and were seated immediately. I asked that we be seated outside and we were taken right to our table by the water. I knew that I wanted to try the crab cakes and was surprised to find them offered as an appitizer and as a dinner. I decided to get the crab cake appetizer and my husband choose the "Gotta have it shrimp dip". We shared each and while both were good I loved the crab cakes. I wish that I had gotten the dinner instead of just the appetizer. For my main course I chose the parmesan encrusted cod and it was wonderful too. My husband chose the steak and he was very pleased with it too. Unfortunately we didn't leave any room for dessert. You can't go wrong with dinner at Flo's Place. I would skip the appetizers though and go straight for the crab cake dinner if I was to go back. I am already looking forward to our next trip.

Really DISAPPOINTING. Been there 3 x's giving it "just one more chance" in the hopes that maybe they were just having another bad manager. Everyone in our family is in the retail, restaurant or Hotel business. We all send a lot of tourists and locals alike out to dinner. In all good conscience, we cannot send anyone to Flo's.

We had been to Flo's before and like what we had ordered, but on our last visit in early July of 2008, we were extremely disappointed. I ordered the scallops along with fish a shrimp and was shocked that such a place with the reputation it had would serve FAKE SCALLOPS! They didn't even taste like scallops and their only similarity was that they were round. I complained to the waiter after waiting through most of our meal to ask that the portion of the meal I would not eat be taken off the check and he returned a few minutes later to say the kitchen was sorry that my food wasn't cooked the way I liked and left me a small plate of fried shrimp. I then asked to see the manager (which I think was just another waiter) and explained I didn't ask for more shrimp and wanted a portion of the bill deducted and that I couldn't believe that they were serving fake scallops. She stated they would not edit the bill and was sorry I didn't like the food. I should have just walked out with out paying, but I didn't. I think Flo's is more worried about their money per head count rather than a satisfied customer. I'll never eat their again.

The food was excellent and plentiful My Hubby is not a sea food lover, but ordered the seafood platter, which I also ordered. You can pick and choose 3 items from a list of about 10...everything was very good, shrimp, mahi mahi, flounder, scallops, grouper and the deviled crab was out of this world. Had a great time at Flo's!

Since our first trip to Flo's 10 years ago it had become our custom to eat at Flo's. several times while in the area. Never been disappointed in any of their dishes or their raw oysters on the half shell. The Parmesan encrusted baked grouper is delightful. Another new dish, to me, is flounder topped with fried tomato's in a cheese sauce. I had that yesterday and was beyond pleased. It was nice enough to eat outdoors. Their Po'Boys, fried green maters hit the spot, too. The staff is always courteous and prompt. Casual dining. I'd give them a 10 stars and my mardi gras beads.

I have eaten at Flo's twice in the last six months, a lunch and a dinner, each time with a party of five so I got to taste a lot of their different entrees. Their service is more than friendly - it's a family atmosphere. I loved all of their food except for their red beans and rice which was served room temperature, the sauce was too tomatoey and overly thick, and the rice was undercooked. We loved their garlic bread and other appetizers. We would definitely eat there again. Also, saw a flying fish in the marsh!!!

Flo's is just plain fun, the food and service is excellent. We have dined here several times over the years at different times (both lunch and dinner hours) and have always had excellent service and a good time.

The steamed mussels in wine sauce are wonderful, the oysters are fresh.

We have tried "The Dunkin Pot" for two and it is awesome, but too much to eat, even for two people.

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fun, laid back, relaxing atmosphere with great food and service.

Enjoy their fresh oysters on the half shell and add dinner or lunch if you like. Pleasant spot, good food. Enjoyable, upbeat atmosphere, inside and out.

Flo's is my husband's favorite place to eat while we're in the area. We visit every time we're in town. I went down to Murrell's Inlet with a friend in late June but didn't go to Flo's. I noticed they had remodeled. Looks nice. We'll check it out in August. It is a very unique menu and atmosphere. We love it.

If you go to the beach, you ain't lived til you go to Flo's. We discovered this place 5 years ago and we've never missed at least one meal while we're in paradise. And we plan another couple of visits beginning July 10, 2005

What a fun place. It was my birthday and they did this big Mardi Gras parade thing...it was so much fun. The food is to die for. I am on a low carb diet and the cauliflower souffle is scrumptious.. I'm a local and this is my favorite restaurant in Murrells Inlet.
