We've been coming to MB for a 6 years now and everyone in our group agreed that this is one of the best restaurants that we have been to . We had sled some locals for a recommendation and they had suggested this place. The food was SUPERB. There were 10 of us and we were able to make a reservation which was nice. Several people in the group ordered the special ( the par 4) which was a combination of a filet topped with a crab cake, shrimp and scallops. We could have split it as it was a large portion. It was cooked to perfection. The trigger fish was also excellent. If you still have room after dinner, the white chocolate cheesecake is wonderful. After dinner we went out to the deck and enjoyed the live music . Not sure about the people that wrote the poor reviews but we thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would definitely go back.

Having read other reviews (both good and bad) decided to try anyway, really wanted beef. Although the restaurant was busy, we were given our choice of seating options. Greeted by our server and offered beverage service right away. Food was excellent (both sushi and filets). Presentation of the sushi was lacking in imagination, but was fresh and tasty. We plan on returning and will recommend to others.

We have never been so offended and disgusted as we were when we visited Filet's. We got there around 9:15, and the fact that we were there late was obviously part of the reason for the bad experience. However, when charging $26-$39 a plate the time you come in should not reflect the quality of the food that you order. There were 6 of us, three couples. 5 of the 6 entrees we ordered were disasters, but the problems started long before we received our meals. The service was average at the beginning, the bread was good, and the salads weren't very cold but they were very tasty. We ordered the clams as an appetizer and attempted to order the sampler appetizer, which was a combo of 4 different things. The server told us that they were out of the wontons, in the sampler. We asked if we could just have extra of the tuna spring rolls, and she told us that they were actually out of those too and they would substitute "fish bites" for the wontons and spring rolls. We said no thank you to that (wondering what in the world is in a "fish bite"). We didn't (want) this much at the time really because it was 9:15 on a Saturday night, and assumed they must have had a busy day. We ordered our entrees then. Our table ordered the Seared Tuna, Surf and Turf, Stuffed Grouper, The Angus Delmonico Steak, Crab Cakes, and The Seafood Sampler Platter as out entrees. The choices of sides were mashed potatoes, collard greens, baked potatoes, rice, or a veggie medley. When trying to order the mashed potatoes we were told they were out. Ok, again, we thought it was because it was late. We thought it was odd that they were able to pop out fresh baked potatoes still, but didn't say anything. The Clams came out and were overcooked, but not so bad that we said anything. Once our food arrived everything changed. For starters, the vegetable medley was cinnamon glazed carrots (which tasted like pure cinnamon). Everyone who ordered that, couldn't eat them and agreed that had we known the "vegetable medley" was carrots that tasted like thanksgiving day we wouldn't have ordered them. The rice was old and dry, that was sent back too and replaced by a baked potato that was nowhere near fresh (which explained why they had baked potatoes and not mashed--- they were very old and shriveled and had obviously been kept in a warmer for far too long). Everything that I have mentioned thus far would have still been understandable to some extent had our meals not been disastrously awful. The tuna that was ordered rare to medium rare came out way overcooked. It was sent back. The lobster tail on the $39 Surf and Turf was RAW and not a fresh tail (obviously a frozen one). It was sent back, but the steak that came with it was not, it was edible at least. The Seafood Platter wasn't sent back but it was full of frozen then fried clam strips, and fried fish that had over a quarter of an inch of breading. It was not fresh, again, frozen, then straight into the fryer. At 25 dollars, it was offensive. The Angus Delmonico Steak was described on the menu as "The King of Steaks". It was ordered medium rare and came out almost medium well. It came back medium and tasted weird. I cut into several places in the steak and of all the steaks I have ever seen, this was as close to an Omaha frozen steak as you'll find. It was in no way the king of steaks. It was worse than something you would order at a Shoneys and an actual Shoney's steak would blow this one away. The Stuffed Grouper was the biggest FAIL of all. This restaurant should be ashamed of what was served on this plate. On the menu it was described as a BROILED filet stuffed with a homemade maryland crabmeat dressing. Firstly, the "broiled filet" looked like it was a "boiled filet". It was totally white. No color on it whatsoever, nor seasoning that any of us could see. I am not sure how you could accomplish broiling a filet without giving it any color or seasoning. AND it was undercooked, as in raw, and yet, mushy. It was so disgusting that even when presented with the offer to order something else, my stomach had been turned and I could not eat anything else. The "dressing" was a runny orange sauce that the filet was covered with and so much that it seemed they were trying to hide something under it...I now know what. DISGUSTING and OFFENSIVE that a restaurant with these prices could let food of this quality leave the kitchen. When the manager was told that the filet was undercooked and boiled, not broiled, his response was that it is "finished in a convection oven after it is stuffed with the 'dressing'". Obviously they need to update their description on the menu to an undercooked boiled filet of grouper that is then smothered in an orange crab sauce and stuck in an oven for a second or two before served. It would have been a laughable meal, had it not been dangerously disgusting and made you lose your appetite all together. Then after not wanting anything to replace this atrocity, the management asked if you would like a complimentary after dinner drink instead. After dinner? After WHAT dinner? We probably should have all had an after dinner dose of the strongest antibiotic they have to insure that we won't all have salmonella poisoning from this mess of a dinner. In the end, all we can figure after extensively talking about how offensive this place was on so many levels is as follows...This sorry excuse for fine dining is nothing more than very very low quality food at fine dining prices. Gordon Ramsey would have a field day in this restaurant, and this place should absolutely be on the show "Kitchen Nightmares." The owner has to be a narcissist, who has absolutely no problem screwing every single person that walks through the door. He knowingly orders, cooks, and sends out this crap food, and then expects you to pay full price for it. He is reliant on managers that come around and half way apologize when caught and called out...acting like it never happens, and you'll need someone in your party very special in order for them to give you 50% off the bill. READ THE OTHER BAD REVIEWS!!!! This place is a nightmare and in need of and could probably only be helped by Gordon Ramsey. Seriously one of the worst restaurants, in terms of the quality of food, most of us had ever eaten at... Good luck if you don't listen to our words and eat here. Hopefully you'll have a doctor in the crowd the night you go. If not, get a 12 pack of charmin and some baby wipes...you'll need it.

As in the past, they list winter specials on their website. This time, though, they say to call or ask your server for details. Not wanting to get there and be surprised by my server, I called. I was told I needed a coupon. I asked where to get the coupon and they said it was in the Sun. So I went and got a Sun, but there was no coupon. I called and asked to speak to the manager because I thought it was deceptive to say they had a special but then let you arrive and find out you need an unavailable a coupon, contrary to past procedures. He accused me of "having attitude" and suggested they "aren't the kind of restaurant" for me. I used to go there a lot. No more.

This is a great place for sitting on the deck and enjoying appetizers and drinks. The main dinner menu is a bit pricey. Menu items tend to be covered in sauces or spiced in some way. My meal was served barely warm . Not a place you will find a down home cooking style menu. I can't recommend it for dinner.

Cut out buy one get coupon from the paper. Waiter seated us and took our drink order. Ordered iced tea and water. Waiter returned and told us about specials. Told him we had the coupon and he said that throws the specials out the window and we had to order two drinks as he said we had to read the fine print. We ordered Ny strip dinner. He never came back after delivering the meals except to drop the check off that he added eighteen percent tip onto. The waitress for the table beside us was very nice to another couple that had the coupon. She explained their options with coupon and served them very well unlike our waiter who was just short of rude. The meal was good but the waiter didn't deserve a nickle with his attitude.

My husband and I saw an advertisement on TV for Happy Hour offered from 4-7pm. We decided to head out there because it looked good. When we inquired about the Happy Hour appetizer menu and drinks we were told it ended at 6, but TV 33 said it was till 7. While browsing the overpriced menu, we watched the waitresses shovel garbage into a trash can beside the bar and outdoor patio tables where people were eating and then serve food and drinks to customers. Where was the hand washing? I don't' know about you, but I don't want to look at a maggoty garbage can while I eat. We left after one drink. Save your gas, time, and money. Go to Angelo's if you want a good steak!

My wife and I and another couple,to whom I recommended this restaurant to went to Filets tonight for dinner. I had been there in the fall and the food was very good and persuaded my guests that this would be the a good place to go. Boy was I wrong. The food was terrible' I ordered the filet with a bacon mushroom cream sauce and my wife ordered broiled seafood our guest ordered Trigger fish (which they said was good) and a rib eye steak. The steaks (both of them were some of the toughest pieces of meat I had ever tried. I can only assume they are of a low grade. My wife's broiled seafood was served drowning in what I assume is butter to the point of it had no flavor. I wanted to tell the manager (later found out that he was the owner) but he looked like he was dressed to play golf and not run a restaurant. I was then told that the restaurant had recently been sold and that the current owner was not there in the fall when the food was good. I will not return one good meal out of four does not a good night make

I took my wife here for Valentines Day dinner. The place was packed so they seated us outside on the deck. We are so glad they did. They had a guy named Tim Hamilton playing music on the deck and he played all of our favorite songs. The food, the service, and the entertainment made for a memorable evening. We will be back!

We went on the buy one get one free night, so we splurged a little more and I got the surf and turf ( lobster & new York strip). Steak was very tough but lobster was yummy...a lot of food. Hubby liked his pecan chicken and friends enjoyed their trigger fish & salmon. Service was ok, but totally turned off by the servers appearance. Non professional! One girl even wore a unc sweatshirt!! For a $200 tab?? Id rather go to Ruth Chris! Also, the bathrooms were very outdated..,yuck! Another thing that surprised us was the included gratituty...it was only a party of 4! However, the server was honest enough to come tell us when my hubby failed to see it and added 20% more! (we promptly adjusted it) It was a decent night, but Don't think we will be back...

I took my wife there for her birthday and we both ordered filet minon and it was so tough we had to leave part of it because it was so tough, the ole fahioned drink I ordered he put a slice of orange, slice of lemon and a slice of lime and a crushed cherry and there was no whiskey it tasted like juice. no bitters and no sugar. After he cleaned up the table he said all week they have been having trouble with the steaks, why did he not tell us this when we ordered the steak, they had already added the gratuity of $13.00 + plus I gave him $8.oo tip and they did not tell us it was allready added in. Out last time of going there. It was a louzy birthday formy wife.

Both of our steaks were cooked wrong, my husbands delmonico was at least alittle pink,,,,,mine was well.... So we switched steaks when I tried to eat it. It was almost all fat.. I had ordered a surf and turf the lobster looked lovely but it had a tough underside which made it hard to remove the meat, I had to pull it apart and eat with my fingers. The manager was gracious and adjusted our bill. The beef was average, I have had better at a cheap steakhouse..

The quality of the food was over cooked I had the filet mignon and I asked for a med and I received a well done. My friends got the fish; salmon and what not, it was way overcooked and too much grease. Yes, I understand that salmon is a fatty fish but come on that was awful. Omg and the service was terrible it took our waitor 30 mins to get our drinks and he decided to attend the other table when we arrived there first. The refills took forever, and it took him almost an hour to get our bread and 55 mins to get out the appetizers. I thought that you were suppose to get our bread to keep us from constantly asking for our appetizers. The atmosphere was great and especially the view, but is it worth you money .. Most definitely not.

This is a great restaurant for the view. However, the food can be a hit or miss. The waitstaff and barstaff appear to be stressed out and overworked and carry it over to their attitudes. I live here and go to this restaurant off and on and each time it is the same. I have never had a "Oh this meal is fantastic" at Filets. Prices are way too high for the quality. But I do enjoy the view with friends and a drink or two.

We have a time share and get to the beach 4 times a year and always stop here and go to the pattio. You can sit and watch the drawbridge and boats but what brings us back is the best sushi anywhere, Sushi at the beach? Their lava roll is outstanding...all their sushi is! But from 4-7 they have half price appetisers which are pretty good and half price drinks which are watered down. We have had Jenna several times lately and she is fun and a great waitress. The food is ok, the sushi excellent and the ability to kick back and watch the water and boats wonderful....a really nice beach experience. Plus they have entertainment at 7.....not broadway but still fun. Hope Jenna reads this....great job thanks see you in 3 months!

We are locals and love going out to the tiki bar during happy hour. Atmosphere and half price apps are great, servers are not. Don't ever sit inside. The bartender (who I think is either the owner or partner) is a real jerk. I think he believes he's always dealing with tourists and will never see again. Unless you go for the atmosphere and the outside tiki bar, I don't normally refer my clients to this establishment.

We gave this restaurant a chance, just by looks and location, and were glad we did. We had a great meal. There were three couples, and they happily gave each of us the free crab dip appetizer for which you can find a coupon in most of the beach books. From the bar, the cosmo was excellent, and the frozen margaritas were good, too. Entrees: we ordered a couple of specials (seafood neptune) which was good, fish in pecan sauce (fabulous), and the rest steaks. All were cooked as ordered and tasted good. The salads all came with dressing on the side, which is good because you got a ton of dressing. I also had a California roll from the sushi bar and it was good, though they can be pretty hard to mess up. Our waiter was good (male...don't remember his name), but extremely busy. Our drinks came right out, but it took a while to get our order placed because he kept taking smaller tables first. However, we weren't in a hurry, and he was running around quickly trying to get it all done. We had a round table inside (only A/C for us in this heat!) but with a view of the water. The atmosphere was great. We saw when leaving that they have live music later in the week, nightly. Sounded fun, but now that I read some other reviews, I might rethink that for a group of six to have dinner and actually be able to hear... We're looking forward to going back to Filet's on our next trip here and yes, we'd recommend to others based on our experience.

From reading other reviews it appears the level of service depends on your service. Obviously we had the worst server imaginable. He appeared not too thrilled we had a coupon for a free appetizer, to the point where he totally forgot about it and only when we asked where it was (much later after we ordered it and after salads were served). The appetizer itself had a poor presentation anyway. Drinks were not replenished without asking. The 'signature filet' was ordered medium and served well done. The server never came back to ask if everything was okay and actually disappeared from the dining room for an extended period of time. After clearing off the dishes, he again disappeared and reappeared to drop off our check. He never asked if we wanted coffee and/or dessert. When at a tourist trap area like Myrtle Beach a smart person should not expect 4-star dining experiences without major disappointment. But a bad server can make a huge difference and he totally ruined what could have been a decent meal.

Absolutely terrible! Travel and dine out extensively and have rarely experienced such a poor effort in so many important areas - - with service being the worst, followed by the food, level of noise (inside dining, not outside) and watered-down drinks from the inside bar. Odd how a place that looks to have great potential fails to deliver at even the most basic level. The place felt chaotic and the older waitress we had was surley and inattentive. Many, many better dining choices elsewhere. Outside bar however looks great.

This is a fun place. Dined in regular dining room this time. Hubby had flounder filets with cream sauce. Excellent. I had grouper stuffed w crab meat. Wonderful. Service excellent. Had a table by the window so watched all the yatchtes coming and going. A little on the pricey side but worth it. Thanks Pam, our server, for a nice dinner.

this place is far more about the fun than the food. The food is OK, but the atmosphere, especially outback by the waterway, is a party. Despite their name, I wouldn't reccommend steaks, but easier fare is better and the sushi is good. Fun for the 30ish to 50ish crowd, and a blast on Thur-Sun night when they have music.

We ate on the deck as we couldn't get a table inside. Atomosphere was good with a decent band. Service was terrible. Our server was very pleasant, but we ordered sushi and it took forever! They ran out of rice. We were served one item at a time and 2.5 hours later, we were done. Quality of the food was average. Thumbs up to our server who brought us a free hors douvres because we were waiting so long.

We just returned from Filets and we were totally disappointed. My signature filet ordered "rare" was medium at best. My wife's filet, ordered "medium rare" was well done without a trace of pink. They would have been sent back but we had guests who already had their meal and we did not see the server until we were more than half finished. When we addressed the problem, the server agreed and said he spoke to the manager who had no explaination of what happened. We never did see the manager. They did lower our bill by 30% when they found we had "No coupons". The server also said another patron had an overcooked meal and that the cook was having a bad day. Sorry to say that the badly overcooked steaks total ruined what should have been a great dinner. The salads were adequate if small as was the baked potato. Overall I would not recommend this restaurant.

We tried this restaurant in December when it was just my husband and I. We ate inside and felt it was way better than average. When my son came with us to the beach for his Spring Break, I wanted to take him here for dinner. We got there around 5:45pm and was told that there was no where to sit in the restaurant but we were welcome to sit on the patio where the bar was located. We decided to give it a try. Oh my, I wish we had not done so!!! It was noisy, crowded and the waitress was downright awful! It took forever to get our food and when we did, my filet was so so , my husbands was bad, bad really bad. He did not get his potato or his vegetables and tried his best to find the waitress to tell her. We could not find her or when we did find her she was too busy, and ignored us when we asked her to come to us. My son did not get his Sushi until we had finished our meal. When she brought my sons' sushi, my husband told our waitress that he did not get his potato or vegetables and she said...oh? And left. We did not get a refill on any drink at any time. We were very unhappy with the service, the food, how it was brought out and the missing items. It was not fun eating and our son sitting there and then we sat there while he ate. Timing is important! When we got home, my son got sick from his sushi and threw up all night long. How about that? Sick and we paid for it. I am going to assume that it sat was not kept cold. You could not see where it was made, so who knows! Don't go!

I recently went to filets. Passing by it from a bridge made me want to stop by. I am a very particular about sushi, but i happened to get there for some kind of special. The Volcano roll was amazing, Everyone should try!! Drinks were good, dinner was good. Sitting outside in the middle of Nov in an enclosed bar with a fire pit was the best part. Being able to watch the bridge open and boats goes by. Will go there again whenever i have a chance.

Try the sushi....it's really good, in good quantity, and best priced during Happy Hour (but not all sushi is on special at that time...you have to ask which). And the Tiki Bar outside is the funnest place for Happy Hour (4-6PM) that I know of in the Myrtle Beach area for the over 40 crowd. I have read so many bad reviews regarding their food that I have not even tried it (and likely won't). But it is surely a fine and FUN place in the summertime!!! Older crowd and lots of ladies hanging around, guys. Don't miss out on this place....VERY highly recommended.

We are locals and are very picky about where we eat here in town, as too often service and quality suffer so that table turnover can be maximized. This was definately the case here. We made reservations and were seated at once, we ordered an appetizer that was so bland and boring that I cant for the life of me remember what it was. Based on this, we decided to play it safe and order the restaurant's namesake, filets. Our house salads were small and obviously just thrown together, the dressings straight from some plastic jug in the back. The steaks were a little over cooked from the medium rare that we ordered them. I had the filet marsala, which offered three small shrimp and three small scallops. Without the marsala sauce, there would have been no taste at all to the steak, which was $27 - way overpriced. My sides were green beans (thank you green giant) from a can, served at room temperature, and a baked potato that was about the size of a roll of quarters, served also room temp, but yet somehow over cooked. My wife had what is called on the menu "something bleu" which was another over cooked tasteless filet with runny bleu cheese-ish sauce all over it - none of the homeade chunkiness that you would expect for $29....her sides were greens (again, thanks green giant) and a veggie medley that was typical. Our bottle of red wine was priced at about $35 for the same thing one can buy at your local kroger for about $8. The only highlight of the experience was the outside bar, which was packed and fun, and our server, bobby, who was wonderfully attentive. We chose not to complain to him, but to just write it off as a place to not return to. Caveat emptor..

Do not waste your time on trying this restaurant. Facts: Telephone reservations were not checked and taken as the machine indicated. We were seated immediately (which should tell you something on a Saturday night on Labor Day week-end. Then promptly forgotten. Four menus for five people. No water. No drinks. No service. We got our own water from the bar. Excuses were made for absences on the staff which were apparently so wide spread there must have been a staff walk-out. Poor food. Huge prices. Extra charge for baked potatoes and toppings. Sushi bar worked non stop and at times had 9 platters waiting to be delivered 3 feet away.

We went up after a day at the vineyard. Robin was our server and she was great. She was friendly, courteous and went above and beyond to make us enjoy our experience. The view was really nice off the back deck. We were given a choice and took that option to enjoy the beautiful weather. We were seated right away too. The food was excellent. I had the Filet Oscar and it was tasty and the crab and vegetables were done perfectly and in a nice sauce. I actually got a perfectly done steak and my husbands Prime Rib was done just as he asked too.

We are so glad we went there and ignored the bad reviews here. It is a not miss and we plan on going again very soon.

Went to Filets on Thursday, Aug 20, 2009 at about 8:30 pm. Sat outside. Wonderful setting on the Intercoastal Waterway. Good service from obviously busy staff although the crowd seemed to subside after 9:00 PM. Food is unimpressive and FULLY priced. We each ordered meat. My wife's small steak was OK, but my prime rib was smaller than advertised, tough and overcooked. By the way, Thursday was Karaoke night. If you do not need to have really awful people make fools of themselves while you eat, you may want to try another night!

We had the pleasure to dine at Filet's on our last visit to Myrtle Beach in early August. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was pleasurable. However, the highlight of the evening was the entertainment. The night that we were there a band called "Gabbie Rae and The Wow Factory" performed love - INCREDIBLE, AWESOME, I have never seen such a talent. This young girl "Gabbie Rae" fronted this great band and covered Pop, Rock, Country and wonderful classics. I expect to see this young girl across billboards very soon - she is destined for fame. She had a 6 octave range and the voice of an angel. Thank you Filet's for supporting local talent and not only giving Gabbie Rae the chance to perform but "Us" the opportunity to enjoy her.

My Husband and I took his mother to Filets for her birthday, our expectations were way to high. Our server, MJ, was nothing but rude and annoying from the very start of the meal. We had dinner on a Monday night and it was not very busy. My wine glass was coated in old lipstick 15 minutes later when MJ showed back up he said that it was the third time that night. My wine was warm when he finally got around to picking it up. When I received my "new glass" it happened to be warm as well. The old wine was transferred to a new glass. It took an hour and 15 minutes to get our food, a filet, stuffed grouper, fried grouper, and an assortment of sushi. Sushi came out 30 minutes before the rest of the food. Our bill was $116 for four of us to have dinner, which was terrible, and we had to suffer through terrible service. Bad experience all around.

My husband's Mom and sister were in town visiting us. It was my Mother-in-laws birthday and we wanted to take her somewhere nice. We had always wanted to try Filets but being in the restaurant business ourselves we don't get many evenings out. What a dissappointing experience. Our waiter, MJ, as he was approaching our table was complaining to another server about how everyone was giving their tables away and he was having to take all of them. When he finally reach our table he told a few corney jokes and told us about the specials. When he brought our drinks out my wine glass was still coated in lipstick. It was 10 minutes before he came back to take our order. I mentioned the lipstick and said "oh man that is the third time tonight" he came back with a new glass but the wine was warm so it was obvious he just poured my wine into a new glass. My husbands sister attempted to order sushi, the server just kept saying "I hope the chef is in a good mood, he might do that" Her sushi came out about 30 min later. Our food came out an hour and 15 min later. The stuffed grouper was terrible, my husband's filet came with "veggies" straight out the freezer. My MIL ordered grouper that was supposed to come with sweet potato fries, it came w/ regular fries. When she asked about it he said she had to specify which kind she wanted. On the way out I looked at the menu and it clearly said served with sweet potato fries. Wow, just an all around bad experience. With our four dinners, 2 teas, and a glass of wine = $116.00 I won't be making that mistake ever again!

My husband and I had dinner at Filet's on a Saturday night. The entrees are way overpriced for the quality. I had the broiled seafood entree. The scallops and shrimp were bland as were the vegetables.

My husband ordered the stuffed grouper ($26). The fish was not done. When he spoke to the waitress, she said the stuffed grouper was the most popular item and people usually loved it. She took it back and my husband requested the blackened grouper. It was better but still not cooked through.

We paid cash and that was also a problem. The waitress shorted us $10 (intentionally??). Luckily my husband caught it.

We have been coming to Myrtle Beach for over 20 years. With all the wonderful seafood restaurants in the Myrtle Beach area, this was a big waste of our money and will never return. If you like an outdoor bar with music, it's OK but do not waste your money on the food.

I loved Filets. The food was great and they offerd a coupon the night I visited that gave us a free meal. A gratuity was added to the check because we used the coupon .....but we left more because the service was excellent, and after all we did get a free meal,,,We sat outside as the inside was full with reservations.....understandably as this resturant seems to be the most popular at the beach. My party did not mind because we got to hear the band and the scenery on the waterway let us relax and feel grateful we were on vacation....next time i will make aa reservation and try the inside...Overall......A very good time

It wa very loud and we were around people who were smoking. Our food was not very good. My dad's prime rib was over cooked, my mom's pasta dish had very little bit of shrimp and scallops in it. My steak was overcooked. Our waitress never came back and asked how things were and on top of it, we were charged an automatic 18% gratuity to our bill. We were very disappointed.

I arrived at Filet's 15 min. before serving time. The inside bartender never even smiled. I went out on the deck and asked the bartender if I could eat out there. I was told they were not serving yet, but, yes, i could eat out there. I picked table and waited. Others at the bar were drinking, but I was never asked if I wanted a drink. After 10 min., I got up and left feeling like I was an unwanted guest. I had planned on getting a steak for dinner and my bill would have been over $50 with drinks and dinner. I not only would never go back to see if the food was any good or not, but would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. the only nice thing that i saw about it, was the view, which was just OK.

Whenever I go to the beach I am always on the quest for some good, fresh seafood. My girlfriend and I happened to pass by Filets one afternoon when we were exploring North Myrtle Beach and I thought it might be worth trying. We decided to sit outside and were seated pretty much immediately. Throughout the evening our service was pretty good, although our server was a bit too "chipper" for my tastes. Overall, we had a very good evening but I was a bit disappointed with my entree. I had ordered the Seafood Platter and the food quality was just so-so. The scallops were very tough, the steamed oysters were room temperature, the snap peas were soggy, while the fish was actually pretty good. On the other hand I thought my girlfriend's entree was pretty good. It was steak with Seafood Alfredo (scallops and shrimp). I would definitely go back but it would most likely be for drinks and appetizers only or perhaps I would give the sushi a whirl.

A most enjoyable experience! the portions were ample, the price was fair for what you received, and the food quality justified the pricing. In all our party of four looks forward to a return dinner experience at filet's. Outgoing waitress who added to our experience..

The food was superb and the service was fantastic. I left with a full tummy and a smile on my face. The crab legs were very fairly priced and the coors lights were as well (hence the smile on my face). I would reccomend this fine dining experience to anyone looking for good food, service, and an excellent atmosphere overlooking the water.

Being from NY, both my wife and I are spoiled when it comes to good tasting and well prepared food. I went to the Filets 3 times and was pleased with the food each time. Pecan Encrusted Chicken was excellent. Service was average, but atmosphere and fine food made up for any minor table service.

We are locals who have wanted to try this restaurant for a while! We decided to do so with the buy one get one coupon from the local newspaper. We were immediately seated but we waited at least 5 minutes before being greeted by a server. It does have excellent views of the waterway but can be very noisy with a mainly retiree crowd ! We were definitely disappointed with our calamari app. and the overpriced entrees. The low point of the evening was when a bug crawled across the window sill and then across our table. My wife lost her appetite and we ended our night on that note. The money they charge for entrees should be invested in pest control. I work at a local restaurant myself and that would not fly! We definitely will not return!

One of our very favorites. Great location on the intercoastal and always clean and well run place with great wait staff. Friday night fish special is worth the trip and the happy hour is one of the best anywhere. Be sure to get there early for happy hour because the bar fills up fast. Not a young crowd but great for us retirees who winter in NMB.

As locals we go to restaurants all year. I don't like being treated like a tourist. You know the usual " where ya'll from" and " are you having fun" routine. As a paying customer I expect to pay my check and receive ALL of my change. The owner keeps all loose change whether it be one cent or ninety nine cents. Sorry servers get your tip from the owner. Will not be back.

I just returned from our annual beach vacation at Ocean Isle Beach. We love to try different restaurants each year when we are in the area. One of my dear friends suggested Filets! I am so glad she did...our food was amazing! I had the filet oscar and my husband had the special, the par four. The filets were so tender and tasty. As an appetizer, we tried the crab dip which was awesome! I know we will definitely return for another fantastic and delicious meal!

My wife and I went to Filet's for a dinner recently for the first time. Not impressive at all... prawns and mussels are not so fresh, fish is overcooked and steak is so firm that I couldn't even finish it. Garlic mash and sweet peace are straight from the frozen bag, as well. You must be very hungry to finish your meal. Cheap meal for not so cheap price. Will not come again even as we live 5 mins. away.

We tried to eat at this restaurant while on vacation. Upon arrival, the hostess simply stared at us. She never asked if she could help. We inquired about seating and she asked if we has a reservation. We asked if we need them and she said they had several coming in at 8:00. It was 6:15 at the time. We inquired as to how long we would have to wait for a table and again she hesitated. She then offered to try to seat us outside, but seemed more interested in the people who arrived after us. At that point, a member of our party suggested we try a restaurant that wanted our business. I would like to point out that we were dressed nicely and could find no reason for her behavior. We found many lovely restaurants in NMB, however, this wasn't one of them.

This was our first trip to this restaurant and we will certainly be back soon. The filet and and seafood platter were both excellent. Service was fine too. We were not rushed and enjoyed being able look out over the harbor. After a busy day it was relaxing and just what we were after. I would suggest making a reservation as even during the shoulder season it was very busy....look for coupons in the local paper.

Arrived at 4:30pm for an early dinner. Hostess seemed busy with lots of things besides hostess. Seated after a 5 minute wait(dining room basically empty). Waitress was pretty nice. We were seated next to the Bar area, and it was extremely noisy! If you are looking for "relaxation"......I guess you could ask for a table farther from the bar.

Wife ordered 10oz sirloin well, and was satisfied. I oredered the 12oz prime rib, and I must say, it may have been the "worst" prime rib I ever ate!

It appeared to me, that they sliced the prime rib fresh, froze it, thawed it in a microwave, and served it! The color of the meat was not good, and the taste was even worse! The waitress did offer to replace it, but my wife and I shared her Sirloin, so I declined. If I had been the waitress, I would have at least sent the manager over, but I guess that is reserved for higher class restaurants!

I would go back for the alcohol and scenery, but I would probably pass on the food!

We heard about Filet's from a friend and decided to give it a try on one of our trips to Myrtle and I have to say, the food in unequaled. We were seated immediately and got to enjoy the grouper bites and the Capt. Dilligaf's shrimp. Our server was very sweet but seemed to like to talk more than serve. We waited for drink refills and our bill. On the upside, we did enjoy the music provided, the singer was very good, though at times the combination of music and crown noise was a bit high for a restaurant.

We went to dinner here as our "big night". With a family of eight with two four year olds we were apprehensive after reading the reviews. I called an got a reservation (Donna was very nice and helpful with directions) and was told the bar and dining room were seprate. They are not and the smoking smell hit us as soon as we walked in. The waitress broke a glass pouring our water, resulting in a whole new table cloth and settings. She took our order and then asked if we wanted anything for the kids, when we had already given her orders for the kids. We had to ask her to check on the kids meals-she didn't think to get their meals out first. The food was o.k. but not a $24 meal by far. If you are looking to drink and play, I think this is a good place. If you have a family, forget it, they aren't "family friendly".

The service was very good. We came in about 15 minutes until 7pm which is when happy hour ended. Our server let us know and went ahead and put in our order for a couple drinks and an appetizer so that we could get the discounted price. We highly recommend Filet's and we will go back.

We have been to this restaurant several times and the food was always good, this time it happen to be valentines and we went with another couple we couldn't even hear ourselves talk the music was so loud we were actually screeming at each other. The setting is really nice, on the waterway, but if you go there to have a nice dinner and conversation, I will say you will have a nice dinner, but absolutely no conversation. We will probably not go back because of that.

We have eaten at Filets multiple times and love it! We have taken friends and they also had great meals. We have eaten both inside with a great view of the marina and ouside at the Tiki bar during happy hour. Both have been excellent! There is nothing better than enjoying cocktails and appetizers at Happy Hour prices on the deck as the sun sets. The appetizers are great - including the grouper bites, calamari and the crab dip. Yes, the crab dip is served on a styrofoam plate with pre-packaged crackers but we were able to overlook that to enjoy the taste!! The presentation of the crab dip does not do it justice and quite frankly was in sharp contrast to the rest of the meal presentation. We have had steak, ceasar and house salad, lobster and several pasta dishes which were all good! The only negative that I can convey is that the service has sometimes been a little slow when there were larger parties inside. We will return!

This was absolutely the worst food that I have ever been served. Since we came down early October being seated in a timely fashion was not an issue. In November 2006 we had heard this was a great place to go for a great steak. I brought my children and grand-children for what we thought was going to be a great steak dinner. I ordered TWO filet mignon dinners for my 3 grandchildren (ages 3, 4 and 6) to share, (**Not the kid's menu items**) that were served with green beans, mashed potatoes and collard greens. Both the mashed potatoes and collard green were so sweet that they could not be eaten. The green beans were awful, I did not know you could mess up green beans. My 8 year old grandson ordered a seafood platter of fried shrimp, oysters and fish which seemed to be OK. We also had 3 adults who ordered the filet mignon, one who ordered the prime rib and one who ordered the Filet Neptune. The steaks were flavorless and had more fat than I have ever seen on a filet mignon. The prime rib was to tough to even eat. The alfredo sauce on the Filet Neptune plate was also flavorless. We told our waitress and she informed the owners, who were sitting at the bar, and they chose to do nothing and did not seem to care at all. We then informed our waitress that we would not be back and would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone. This was a total waste of not only our money but also our time which could have been spent elsewhere being served much better food.

When they first opened they served good food, good size portions, and the best was the bone in rib eye; although a bit on the pricy side it WAS worth it. But it has been a year or so since my wife and I have the opportunity to actually go out for dinner. I’m a restaurant owner here on the beach.

They have turned into the typical tourist trap: "Give them some atmosphere but serve them cheap because you won't see them again."

To start with we ordered two JUMBO shrimp cocktail’s @ $9.95. Now I expected the OLD Filets where you would be served five 6 to 10 count shrimp (a count is how many shrimp there are to a pound), shrimp served in a glass with cocktail sauce; and we were served four small shrimp (20 to 25 count) and they were butterfly’ed to make them look larger, plus they were served on a plastic plate with some dried-up lettuce and a 1 oz. cup of ketchup.

I did order the bone in rib eye, as my wife did, @$29.95, but as soon as I saw the quality the shrimp cocktail, I canceled my order from the kitchen. ***I figured that if the appetizer that was served was an indication of the main course, it was not worth it. ***which caused a big stir with the wait staff, but not with the owner, who sat at his bar drinking. He had a customer complaint and could not care less.

In short, the owner should get his act together before he turns into a "locals bar" and goes out of business like the past lessee's .

Administrator's note: The past lessee, The Marker (not to be confused with Marker 350), did not go out of business because locals loved it, as implied in this review. The restaurant was very successful. The owner, due to failing health and hospitalizations, closed the business.

The view was great (marina & intercostal), but the quality of the food was poor for the price. The grouper special was so overcooked that we couldn't eat it. The house salads were swimming in dressing (more dressing than iceberg lettuce), the vegetables were straight out of the frozen bag and the garlic potatoes were sticky. We had better food at the Duffy Street Seafood Shack.

Happy hour is a great time to go to this restaurant. The atmosphere is nice and you can eat outside overlooking the waterway. Make sure you ask the server which items on the menu have happy hour prices; this was confusing and a little deceptive. The dinner menu is pricey for this type of restaurant and the food is average. The live music is a little too loud and conversation can be difficult, but it is a nice place to hang out with friends.

I am a Little River local and this past weekend took my in laws to dinner at Filet's. This was my first visit. The weather was chilly so we had a table inside by the window. There was a band playing that was WAY TOO LOUD for the restaurant. We could not talk to each other or hear each other for the majority of our meal. I thought that the menu was pretty basic and a little on the pricey side. My husband and father in law ordered the filet and they were both overcooked. THE SUSHI WAS EXCELLENT! I will be back for the sushi and to sit outside when the weather is nice!

Although the food was fine, the service and attitude of the staff were unacceptable. On two occasions in one week we were asked to leave our table to make room for someone else. When we questioned that, we were told "you've been here over an hour!" Needless to say, it doesn't matter how the food is- we are not going back. It was also very smoky and noisy inside.
