I've been eating at the Farmhouse since it opened (1968 I think) when I was just a little boy living there & now I live in Oklahoma & still drive almost 1400 miles yearly to vacation & eat there. It is typically the first place I go upon arriving at the beach (sometimes before I even check into where I'm staying) & if things work out I will eat there a second & third time during my one week stay. It is family owned & by far the best restaurant for country cooking you can eat at. The food is always excellent from all the fresh veggies to the salt cured ham & wonderful fried chicken!! The wait staff is very friendly & attentive & always make you feel right at home. Be prepared to wait as they are only open for dinner & ALWAYS PACKED!! I just wish they were open year round so I could get my fix in the fall also. Heading there in just a couple of weeks & very much looking forward to eating there a few times. Even booked my hotel close to there this time so I can walk there.

Loved the food and the atmosphere! The staff was great and very friendly. It's a must eat place when in Myrtle Beach! We loved the decor it reminded us of our grandma's Sunday dinners. If you want fast food or hot dogs and hamburgers this is not for you. So if your hungry then it's Well Worth the wait! We have been eating here fo over 10 years! We love it!

Everytime we would come down to the Beach, My Mothr always had to go to the FarmHouse one year we ate there 2 times during our week stay cause she loved it so much. She has since gone to be with the Lord but everytime we come to the Beach still we come to the FarmHouse. The food is wonderful and the price is awesome too. the atmosphere is wonderful. This year we are coming down and My Sister and friend of mine has never eaten there and we are gonna take them there also my Daddys finace is coming and she is gonna eat there for the first time this year too. I am so excited cause i love to see people when they eat the food for the first time. I know they will love it just as we do and just as My Mother did everytime she eat there. That is when she would eat the most that i have ever seen her eat.I would like to thank you for having a restuarant at the Beach cause that was her best place to eat while we were down there.

An hour wait for bad church potluck food! My wife summed it up best, "the ketchup was delicious" Too much effort was put into the atmosphere leaving none for the menu. We waisted our last dinner in Myrtle Beach on this place! Very disappointed!

This is a must go to spot every year that we come to Myrtle Beach! The family looks forward to it every year! We purposely eat very little on the day of our visit there because the food is so amazing, you are stuffed by the time you leave. All of the food is cooked like your grandmother prepared it and is amazingly good! The decor is also wonderful with all the antiques! The wait can be a little long if you don't come when they first open. This is due to it's popularity and the limited dining space. We generally get there by 4:00. Even while waiting, it is pleasant due to the rocking chairs provided and the outdoor games to play.

I rated everything excellent except for the wait time simply because there is limited seating and it may take a while to get in. However, the food and atmosphere is definitely worth the wait. The Farm House is described as over 75 years old and a lot of the antiques and pictures inside belonged to the original family. Food is served buffet style in pots and pans, there are actual dishes (not those plastic buffet plates), and everything tastes as if your southern great grandma made it. The people are friendly, there is awesome attention to detail in cozy surroundings, and relaxing on the front porch until dinner makes it more like home! I'm from NC and a southern cook myself. The Farm House is excellent!

I am so excited to see that the Farm House is still in business. My husband and I would visit every year from 1986 to 1998. We are finally taking out children to Myrtle Beach this year to show them all the neat places we visited. We will see you in August 2011. :)

The Farmhouse is the absolute best restaurant in the Myrtle Beach area. We discovered this place in 2005 and have been going back since every year. The food is always fresh, prepared the southern way, and always plenty to choose from. Seating is very limited, so be prepared to wait. Other than the wait, there is nothing that can compare to this place. Thank you Farmhouse for such a great establishment and a such great service and food. Look forward to seeing you again this July!!!

I can't imagine a trip to the beach without eating at the Farm House. The food, service, atmosphere is always great. I have eaten here every year since I can remember. I love the player piano and the antiques and country furnishings. There is a wait but it is well worth the time. I will continue to eat here as long as it remains open. It is the BEST food at the beach!!!

I have eaten at this resturant at least once a year for 25 years. There is most always a wait but it is worth it. the cooking is "REAL" country cooking at its finest. They have a limited that never changes snd offer no soft drinks, that's ok. Everthing that they do serve is wonderful.

Our family loved the restaurant,we have been there several times during our visit to myrtle beach.the service is great and the food is just like your granmother would cook on sunday. We also have sunday lunch at our house with our family and grandchildren and it makes you feel like you are at home but someone else has done the cooking. I would rate this place a grade.

We go to Myrtle Beach every year and we always make it a point to eat there one night during our vacation. Although you have to wait to be seated for a considerable amount of time, the good country cooking is worth the wait. If you are looking for a cheap meal, however, you probably would not want to come here but for those of you who have been there knowv that it is worth the high cost and long wait.

I just returned from myrtle beach and i was overly pleased with the Farm House Restaurant. I'm from a sleepy little town on the eastern shore of maryland and dining there was just like sitting in my grandmothers kitchen. This was my first trip to the south and all i was looking for was some good southern cooking and some good southern sweet tea i found both at the Farm House.. The staff was just like family and welcomed me warmly.

The Farm House was amazing! My husband & I were married on the beach in Myrtle Beach and my in-laws treated us to dinner here one night and it was so much fun. The food was delicious and the atmosephere is like stepping back in time. I live in Minnesota and cannot wait to go back some day. You really must experience dinner at The Farm House.

First time visit and we enjoyed it. Fried chicken was good as were mashed potatoes. The homade biscuits, bread and butter pickles and apple butter were good. The player piano was unique and added to the "old time" feeling. Be advised there isn't much room so there could be long waits. We got there 20 minutes prior to opening and signed up. Would have liked to have fried okra, fresh peas, creamed corn as choices. Only one desert, but cool and tasty strawberry shortcake.

The Farm House is one of the BEST places to eat while on vacation!! I have been going to the Myrtle Beach area since I was a baby and every year we eat here. The cooking is a great taste of country and the children have plenty to do outside while waiting to eat. There is a hammock, swing, checkers, and a beanbag game for children of all ages. Once you walk inside the country home it feels like you are sitting at your own kitchen table with very friendly people waiting on you. After your buffet style dinner there is a desert of strawberry shortcake. I recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting an AWESOME home cooked country dinner!!!

Our family visited the Farm House on three different occasions during the summer of 2004. Twice in June and once in July. Everyone was great! Very down to earth. The inside of the restaurant was like stepping back in time. Kind of like your grandma's house. And being from the mountains of western North Carolina, and knowing what real down home country cooking tastes like, I left there completely satisfied. The food was delicious ( I love buffet style), the staff made you feel like you were one of the family, and my 12 year old son (who by the way is the world's most pickiest eater) was even impressed. So, if you have the chance to stop by, please don't hesitate. It's worth the wait. (Just a note: they charge children by their age. So if you have small children, it's the best deal around. I think it was like .95 cents per year.
