Our Maine group makes a point to go to Duffy's 2-3 times during the week. It is nice to see a seafood restaurant with such high quality in a tourist town. Review by M. D.

We had a wonderfully different evening here. Steamed shrimp were cooked just right - and a bountiful serving provided in one pound. Crab cake sandwich and shrimp po'boy exceeded expectations. This was really a fun place to dine. We look forward to coming back.

We planned to visit Duffy's this visit to MB after a very good experience last year. They did not disappoint. We went twice this year and I can not stop ordering the scallops, they are fantastic. My husband had the steamed clams and a crab cake sandwich, both of which he enjoyed. This place is a must visit for a good meal and very friendly service at a reasonable price.

On my first trip into Duffy St (the Original on Duffy St) I looked around and thought about leaving. But I stayed and discovered some of the best food on the beach. Then the Main St location came along with the same great food and friendly staff. After driving by the new location near restaurant row many times, I finally stopped and discovered the best happy hour on the beach! Great low country atmosphere, great food, good beer selection on tap, and low prices! Stacy does a good job keeping the customers happy. My quest for great oysters has ended here! Best oysters I have found anywhere- large and tasty.

We visited Duffy's for the first time after reading reviews and such. We sat immediately (no greeters) the place wasn't extremely busy but it was a late dinner for us. Our server greeted us promptly with a basket of peanuts and a review of the night's specials. Some of us had fried seafood, some had steamed shrimp and some chicken fingers. Everyone was thoroughly pleased with their food. Our drinks were refilled promptly, the atmosphere was great! Good blues music playing very relaxing. The manager Greg is the best!!! He was going to all the tables making sure everything was ok, he was an all around true working manager as he waited tables, worked the bar and spent time with the customers. If you want a laid back, fun and relaxing atmosphere with excellent seafood this IS the place to go!! If we ever come back to Myrtle Beach again this will be one of our first stops!!!

We own a vacation home in North Myrtle and the first place we go to eat when we arrive is Duffy's. We have always gone to the Ocean Drive location, and now also go to the new Restaurant Row location. They are both wonderful and have the best crab cakes on the beach. You can order them fried or sauteed and they are served with a special sauce, but I prefer tartar sauce. This is a laid back place with friendly servers. The Restaurant Row location has a nice open atmosphere, a large bar area and more seating. The food always arrives hot and fresh, and in a timely manner. In the south, we enjoy a more relaxed style of living, so have a drink, eat some peanuts and chill out y'all!

Yes I would go back .the service &food was so great .also love the blues and throw ur peanuts on the floor .yes it was a wait but if you want good food it's was worth waiting.. When we go I would like to get waitress Becki .she acted like she has known us for year. Never had ask for a refill, was very sweet young lady, told us she loved her job .There was no silverware on table but we know the table just turning over. My little girl wanted icecream ,she came back in few min with my daughter some icecream. The manager greg was nice too he asked us if everything was good. That made me feel at home. I will refer Duffy's to anybody..

Tried this place after a nightmare at Murrells Inlet, same story. What is going on in MB?? A 75 minute wait for a table, had to ask for a menu, took 20 minutes to get a soda. FINALLY got our order in, was told 20 minutes, we walked out after waiting almost an hour.

I finally had the pleasure of eating at Duffy's yesterday, and loved it! The service was wonderful, our server was very attentive. We chose to sit outside, and he came out every few minutes to make sure we didn't need anything. I loved the atmosphere, very relaxing and comfortable. The crab dip was absolutely wonderful! I had the Teriyaki Fish Chef Salad, the fish was just a tad dry, but it was still great. $11.00 pitcher of Rum Runners was awesome, worth the buck. Will definitely be back here on my next trip!

Watch your credit card statement! My wife and I always wanted to try this place after many years of going to the beach. We finally gave it a try, the food was very high priced for the poor quality. Our bill was about $40 for lunch and service wasn't very good. We left a $5 tip and noticed when we got home our statement showed that our waiter must have changed the bill and gave himself a $12 tip! I don't mind tipping well for good food and service but this place was neither. Never again will I eat at any of the 3 duffy's in town!.

Shrimp and sweet tea were good....Everything else about the restaurant was awful!!! Not worth the time or money. The service is the worst you can get...waitress was nice but not cut out to be a server. She messed up everyone's order and then made up an excuse for it. Also, no forks or spoons were brought to the table. We got them ourselves. They also messed up the bill in the end. ..

I don't know why we didn't walk out of here after waiting almost an hour and a half for our food. The food here is completely over-priced for what you get. We come to myrtle beach every year to enjoy the laid back and smooth aura of the natives, so we thought this would be a good place to eat. We were wrong in ever aspect. Just not a good place to eat and very unfriendly management

I have never walked into a place so pleased only to walk out almost angry with my experience. We are a pretty laid back family and loved the beach shack no frills feel of the place. But after paying $100 for 3 bad entrees and 2 kids meals that showed up cold after a 45 minute wait- I was not happy. Take my advice, only go here if you want a beer and an appetizer- but do not take the family here for dinner.

My sister and I recently visited this place and I have to say, we had the worst restaurant experience yet during our annual vacation to Myrtle beach. Our server was new, but did a wonderful job. We ordered crabcakes and something called a pirates something. I don't know, but they were awful! We tried to get a manager, but when the server went to find them they obviously insulted the young girl because she came back shaken and almost in tears. I'm not sure what was going on in this restaurant, but i'm sure their employees are mistreated and demeaned. I feel sorry for anyone that is employed under whoever owns this place, but it is awful that our server came back to us in tears. The food was dry, tasteless and overpriced.

Our servergave us the most terrible service we've ever had. She forgot to put in my wife's order & our appetizer came with our food. She filled our water glasses with tap water from their sinks It was quite apparent that other servers were upset with this woman and the managers. When we got our food it was barely warm and when she handed us our plates her thumb was smooshing an 18 dollar crabcake, which, might i add, was overpriced, dry and tasted can-quality.

Never again! Three of us went to Duffy Street in North Myrtle Beach on 5/2/09. We were seated and served drinks immediately and our orders taken. We received our food 1.5 hours later. By then it was 9:00 p.m. and we were tired and no longer hungry, so we wound up taking the food home. Not good warmed over the next day, either. The server came over twice to tell us the order got mixed up and the manager says to apologize. AND - "Would we like to order anything else while we are waiting?" I DON'T THINK SO! At the very least, the manager should have come out HIMSELF and offered our whole meal to us on the house.

Wonderful experience it couldnt get any better. The service was the best I have ever had in the Myrtle Beach area, maybe the best I have ever had period! The food was great, portions where very resonable and the atmosphere was just what I was looking for. This place is laid back, throw peanut shells on the floor eat some raw oysters, drink an Ice Cold Beer, and have the lunch or dinner special, We liked it so good we ate there for lunch and dinner, we had a party of 4 my wife and my two kids. By the way we tried both locations lunch at the Cherry Grove location and Dinner on Main Street. Keep up the good work guys. I will make sure the resort that sent me here to keep on sending.

Great beachy place to relax with friends over drinks and great seafood. This is like the islands, so slow down and relax. If you are in a hurry, go to McDonalds or cook for yourself and stop griping about everything. If you are friendly to the waitresses, they will be nice to you. The best fried oysters and other seafood on the 60 mile long Grand Strand !

Unbelievable bad service at 6pm Monday 3-9-09. Our group of 4 sat and waited for a full 25 minutes, with the only welcome from one young lady who caught my eye contact and said someone would be with us "soon." An older gray bearded manager type occasionally shuffled around, but did nothing. We left. I will make sure that the NMB Visitor Center knows they were DEAD WRONG in recommending this place.

We had two seafood platters and an appitizer. Most of the food was excellant, however, the broiled flounder was rancid. Everthing was great until we checked out and the waitress cheated us out of $10. We gave her $80 cash, she returned change for $70 and was adamant she was correct. Spoiled our whole good feeling for the place.

I have been going to Duffy's on Sea Mountain Hwy for about 7 years and enjoy it more and more everytime I go. The people working there are very friendly and the food is excellent. Emily is the best bartender in the area. I have read some bad reviews so my advise to you is dont go back which leaves more room for my family and friends. Will be back at the end of the month and will definitly visit....several times

Duffy's is my favorite Myrtle Beach restaurant. I make it a point to go there at least once every time I'm in the area. The food and service are outstanding. The atmosphere could be improved. Some new fixtures, decorations and furniture would provide a better atmosphere, but the food MORE than makes up for it. Definitely try it!

Our party of friends that travel together visited Duffy's this past MAY of 2008. All we could do is rave about the place. We have been coming to Myrtle Beach together for 6 years now and have had many meals at various restuarants there. I must say that Duffy"s has won my heart as one of my favorties there. Yes we will be back and yes we will tell everyone we know that is going to be in the area to give it a try. Great job guys!!!!!!

I really don't know what the quality of food is here because an hour after ordering we still hadn't seen our food. My husband and I actually wanted something to eat so we had to get up and leave. Our waitress had told us our food would be out in five to seven minutes but an hour later and several more empty promises we had to give up. We even asked several times for a refill of our drink and that never came either. Not good when you are sitting there eating handfulls of peanuts. The sad part is - all I ordered was a bowl of soup and a salad. My husband ordered shrimp. I can't imagine that it takes an hour to pour a bowl of soup! I thought this was going to be a great time sitting at an outdoor restaurant on a warm summer night. Boy was I wrong. I guess you can't always judge a restaurant by how full the dining room is. I would NEVER go back to this restaurant again.

My wife and I found this restaurant several years ago while in MB. It has become our most favorate restaurant ANYWHERE. The biggest and best raw oysters you'll find. We eat there several times a week wnen were in MB. We always bring many friends with us and no one has ever have a bad meal or experiance at Duffy Street. It's a guarnteed good time with GREAT food. During bike week this year we brought 9 friends with us and everyone LOVED the food. Several made a second & third visit in the 7 days. The food is really that good.

We were a party of 16 and were seated immediately and the food was serviced much faster than any other restaurant we had eaten at all week. The fried shrimp, scallops, etc were excellent. The shrimp and grits were unique - it is something you have to like - but members of our party thought they were great. We will return later in the week for the food, value and service

We had an overall good experience at Duffy Street Seafood Shack and I would definitely go back again. The food was great and reasonably priced. I wanted to find a place that had a great shrimp & grits meal, and this was it. I am a big guy and it was more than I could eat! My wife had the chicken fingers and there were 8 or 9 of them on the plate. We definitely didn't leave hungry. The atmosphere was fun and the drinks were good. My only knock was the service. Our waitress was this bone-skinny girl who looked like a meth addict. She kept forgetting to bring simple things we asked for to the table, like honey mustard. I had to wait 30 minutes to get a bottled Corona...she just kept forgetting. Our kids enjoyed their food - they had fried potatoes shaped like smiley faces, which was cool. They also enjoyed eating the peanuts and throwing shells on the floor. Our meal was an early dinner, so there were not a lot of people there at that time. Overall, I would recommend this place. The shrimp and grits were wonderful.

When my brother told me we would be dining at a shack, I was a little worried. But I convinced myself that looks aren't everything and I became determined to make the experience excellent. The peanut shells which are thrown onto the floor provide an atmosphere that is appalling. The tiny, dark shack was filled with loud music and a smoky atmosphere that made me sick. Their was a wide variety of food and I chose the crab cakes. They were good crab cakes even though they lacked proper seasoning, (they were quite bland) and the fried pickles were very interesting. I thought the food was overpriced considering the quality of it all and I would not return. There were many waiters but I had to ask to have my friends drink refilled after we waited nearly 15 min (while he was chatting at the bar) and when the waiter asked if we needed anything we reminded him that forks are somewhat necessary for dining! If you enjoy places that are a little more casual and you don't mind spending more than you would at Margaritaville (yes by about $40) for a party of 5, then this is your place. But if you are like me and enjoy places with a clean atmosphere and helpful service then I would look elsewhere.

My daughter and her family took me with them to duffy's for dinner one night in april of 2007. I enjoyed some of the best seafood i've ever eaten in the grand strand area, and having lived here 9 years, that includes a lot of seafood. It was tasty and fresh, and was not at all greasy though I had fried scallops and oysters. I would recommend this very informal restaurant to anyone for the food itself. However, be prepared. Thank goodness the food makes up for the absolutely horrible service if you happen to be served by the young lady who served us on the one occasion i've eaten there. We had to keep asking her for things we were supposed to have that she continuously forgot, and unfortunately her behavior was downright rude. I would eat there again, but I would look first to make sure I had a different server.

The place always seems crowded in summer so we thought it would be a good time to go. We walked in and sat down seeing that not many people were there it would be no problem. I realized that all the other people were smoking and I just couldnt HACK IT! Since no one had greeted us, anyway, we left. Maybe when the no smoking laws get here, we can enjoy the taste of some food there.

My girlfriend and I were at bike week last year and on our last night went to Duffy's for dinner. Let me say how pleasantly surprised we were with the food. We were a bit apprehensive when we walked in to find peanut shells on the floor. But, as it turned out, that's just part of the atmosphere. The food was fantastic and the service was top notch. Definitely will be going back again for this years Bike Week.

My family went here twice, and we were not impressed either time. The first time we came, they dragged garbage in the dining area and made it reek for a long time. The second time we came we were seated outside downstairs. So we waited, and waited for 15 min. without a word. Nobody came, and the waitress who seated us had two other tables, TWO! So we dumped the peanuts and left. Although with how messy the place was I don't think they noticed.

We visited Duffy's during 4th of July week. We were very pleased with the food and the atmosphere and the service we received. The food was outstanding. Our waitier was great. I would recommend Duffy's to anyone that stayed in North Myrtle Beach. We ordered a variety of things since we had 5 in our party. We had from Steak to lobster and Crab legs and chicken. I would go back again. I loved how the restaurant was setup and LOVED the saying on the bathroom doors. The only thing was I wanted a T-shirt and they were all sold out.

Food was okay, not great but not bad either. Service was what you would expect on a busy 4th of July week. However what is totally UNACCEPTABLE is upon arriving home today we find that someone at Duffy's added a tip to our debit payment. we left a tip on the table and paid with our debit card, someone went and added another tip onto our bill!!!! We did not approve this charge and are disputing it with our credit card company. BE WARNED someone at Duffy's likes to STEAL your money!!!!! Check your credit card statement or bank statement (we checked online so caught it quickly) after visiting this restarurant...

How can you not love Duffy Street? Our kids love the place. Everyone is always so good to us, and a vacation wouldn't be complete without Fried Pickles, PigSkin Shrimp, and a $6.95 order of crab legs. Add a cold beer, some good beach music, and throw some peanuts on the floor... OUR idea of a great evening. LOVE Duffy Street.

My family and I visited Duffy's on Main Street at North Myrtle Beach on Saturday 7/29/05. We saw an advertisement in a book at Peppertree Ocean Club and thought this would be a great place to eat. I do not know what happened but my family and I did not have a good experience. First, when we walked in there was know one to tell you if you could seat yourself or wait for someone to seat you. There was no friendly hello or even an adknowledgement that we walked in the door. I guess that was a sign they maybe we should have gone elsewhere, but we knew the restaurant was busy and we were hungry so we sat down to eat some peanuts and have a good time. We even got up and moved from our table (after we had ordered)that would seat 6-8, because there was only 4 of us and we wanted to let people that were waiting for a table to be seated and not have to wait. The waitress was nice and took our order and brought our drinks. This was at approximately 6:30. The restaurant was full and we knew there would be a wait, but we didn't mind (so we thought). Thirty minutes went by, no food, know one to tell us when we would get our food. We noticed some workers coming out of the kitchen, but they were not bringing food out, they were walking around or walking outside. Fourty-five mintues or so goes by, we get our waiters attention and she assures us our order is on the way, but there are 2 others before us. One hour goes by, no food, but our waitress did bring us drinks, (thank goodness). The people ahead of us got their food, but we still waited and no food. We asked our waitress again and she really didn't say much. Then we sat some more while we watched three families that came in after us, with parties bigger than ours, get there food. By this time it is 8:15. We did now want to cause a scene, so we flagged down our waitress AGAIN, and asked her about our food. This was totally rediculous. She apologized and went to the kitchen. In about a minute or two at the most, a man comes out with our food. He ask us how are we doing, I told him we were upset because we had been waiting almost 2 hours to get our food while people that came in after us were seated and recieved there food before us. He did nothing but shrug his shoulders and walk away. No apology, no coming back to the table. The food my two sons ate was okay, but my husband and I ordered a fried shrimp basket. The shrimp were battered but not fully cooked. The batter was coming off of the shrimp and they were slimmy. You could tell they were not cooked thouroughly. My husband and I were very upset that no one cared, they didn't try to correct the problem or even cared that we were there. Both my husband and I are professionals and we know how the customer is supposed to be treated. Instead of asking to speak to a manager, or getting upset any more than we were, we asked for the bill, paid almost $60.00 for food that we could not eat. This was food only, no alcoholic beverages included. My husband and I feel like we should not have had to pay for this meal. If this is how your restaurants are run, I promised you we will never by back and we will let our friends and others know about your restaurant, as we plan on visiting the area a lot in the near future. My family thought that whoever owns this restaurant should know of the service and hopefully correct it,or you might be losing a lot of customers in the near future. We were not the only customers who were dissatisfied. There were others in there who were upset also. I wish you the best, but please know that a great night out in which we were going to eat and have a family outing turned out to be a disappointment for us. Thanks, Lynwood and Elaine Dowdy Fayetteville, NC

Duffy Street has the best crab legs in all of Myrtle Beach. It is a favorite place of ours and the first place we eat at when we get to Cherry Grove. This year we went twice! Our wait for a table was not too bad, 10-15 minutes and the first time there were 15 of us. We always feel most comfortable eating at Duffy's with the casual atmosphere and love the open balcony. For the price of a meal and the freshness of the seafood, Duffy's cannot be beat! Our vacation just ended but we will definitely be back next year.

Duffy's is really not a bad place, but not great either. I suspect the service may suffer from transient help, as we decided to leave after sitting around and no one asked to help or serve us. Other times, sitting at the bar, or outside, we had great service. The food is about what you'd expect: good quality, fresh, messy, and a good menu. Cold beer, good happy hour shrimp, oysters, and brews. Great place to go right off the beach and close to our hotel. You probably won't be dissapointed in Duffy's. We'll be going back.
