My wife and I dine out frequently and are not the type to complain. However, we were very disappointed with the dinners served to us at Driftwoods Friday October 19. We have eaten there many times have been pleased, but the meals served to us were below average. I ordered the steamed fisherman's catch,.and my wife ordered broiled shrimp and scallops. The meals were served in a timely manner, but were lukewarm. The fish and shrimp were served cold. After eating a few bites, I told our server that the meals were unacceptable and asked that my meal be reheated. It was taken back to the kitchen and brought back 20 minutes later. By this time, my wife had already eaten her lukewarm meal. My dinner came back the same, cold and inedible. I told our server and asked for an adjustment on our bill. He apologized and presented the tab without offering any discount. At that point, I should have asked to speak with the manager, but decided to pay the bill and leave. I feel like this was not properly addressed and the experience was very disappointing. As a result, we will not return to Driftwoods.

My husband and I just heard about Driftwood and went last night. We both had the scallop dinner and various sides-sweet potato, baked potato, and slaw., I sometimes hesitate to order scallops because they are no good if not cooked to perfection. Ours deserved a 10. Everything was just fine. We visit Garden City area every year and will go back to Driftwood before we go home this time and will return.. Prices are reasonable. We got the early bird.

A group of 10 of us dined there this evening. Service was excellent and the quality of the food was well above average. Our very friendly and efficient waiter tried several times to give us the correct (individual) checks, but the computer system did not cooperate. The manager on duty, Charles, after trying to correct the situation without success, graciously comped our entire party. A very nice gesture, and he was genuinely apologetic, too. We will return.

This was our first time at this Resturant, and we were very pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness and attentive staff! Obviously a locals paradise, but are very friendly to visitors. The shrimp cocktail is excellent, and the fresh hush puppies were cooked to perfection. Dinner was great! Came with dessert and the key lime pie rocks! Stay off Resturant Row! It's worth the trip!

We just visited this evening , the food was good however we were there for 2 hours total , it seemed that the orders were getting to the kitchen but nothing was coming out. Hard to turn tables on a busy Friday night. We have eaten here before and it wasn't like this . Don't think we will return , there's too many good seafood restaurants in the area.

We have eaten at Driftwood for a couple of years and have found each visit to be as excellent as the last one. The oysters and shrimp are fried just right and very tasty. The breading is not overwhelming. We always take friends and tonight we are taking the rest of our family!

If you are thinking of eating here I highly recommend that you give McDonalds serious consideration. Allow me to break down the check for you: $6 for the 6 slightly warm cheese sticks, $8 for the coyote burger with rubberband sliced peppers and homespun ranch that poored all over your clothes when you picked it up, $7 for the *signature Drift burger that is a patty on a bun and a packet of mayo ( NO, there was no lettuce, tomatoe, onion...NOTHING) along with a cold baked potatoe and packet of sour cream, $16 for a mess of fried foods thrown on a plate consisting of 1 peice of fish,4 shrimp,2 scallops, and 2 (or maybe it was 3 )clams, crab patty, soggy limp fries and about 1/8cup of grease, and don't look for the hushpuppies the menue claims is there cause they aren't. Oh and it comes with slaw though and that was cold and good. Combine all of this with the saltines your given as dinner bread to snack on for the hour long wait for food and you have $52.00 worth of regret.this visit was on a Wednesday night and the place was not very busy. The waitress was very slow to return with items and didn't return with any crackers after the 4 single serve packs were gone 45 minutes into the wait for our food. The waitress also was not considerate enough to step out of sight to talk rudely about her customers either. As a local less than a mile from this place I wish I had listened to my neighbors and avoided it.

My husband and I tried Driftwoods today and we were well pleased. We would have liked it better had there been more people eating, but we got there very late for lunch so it was our fault. Our server, LaToya was very pleasant and helpful. We felt the lunch prices were very reasonable. The pot roast was delicious as were the mashed potatoes. The fries were freshly cut. The baked beans were very good also. We will definitely go back, hoping this restaurant continues to offer other items than seafood...as my mother does not eat seafood. Looking forward to our next trip.

We go there very often and take friends and family. The last two times we were there, we had the same server, Latoya. If you want to eat your chocolate cake with dirty dishes all around you, have to get your own condiments, and wait forever to get your check, this is the waitress you want. We will go back, but will ask who the waitress is first.

Some reviews complain about value. They need to go to 'any other' restaurant in the area (besides an all you can eat buffet) and would find the value for the price was excellent. Never had a bad meal. Everyone is always pleasant. Staff is usually excellent. Noise is usually same as all restaurants in the myrtle beach area..

Great Food, Great Prices, Great Atmosphere, Great People!!!! Such a great place to eat!! The fried seafood platters are absolutely delicious and the Monday night special is great! Buy one seafood platter and 2nd one is half off! Also, early bird specials from 4 PM - 6PM every night are very reasonable and come with drink and desert!!! Steaks are outstanding as well. We look forward to our visit to Driftwood every time we are at the beach!! All of the staff are so friendly (Linda, Elizabeth, Latoya, Mike, Bean and the rest of the staff!) Looking forward to our next trip~~~ You're missing out on some delicious food if you do not visit Driftwood!!!

The ultimate restaurant in Garden City/Murrells Inlet!!! We have been going to Driftwood Seafood and Steak Restaurant since November 2010 and it is the best seafood we have ever eaten-No exceptions! Great special on Monday nights and Early Bird Menu specials every day from 4-6 PM. Wonderful service and atmosphere - off the beaten path across from James Island High School on Hwy 707 approximately six miles from Garden City pier. Going to Driftwood is always a highlight of our visits to the beach! If you want great seafood, steaks or sandwiches, you will not be disappointed!!

During our visit to Garden City, we visited Driftwood's Steak and Seafood, based on reviews we read online. We must say it did not disappoint!!! The early bird specials 4p-6p are VERY reasonable. The fried 3 item combo I ordered, (choices were scallops, oysters, shrimp, deviled crab, flounder) came with 2 sides. It ALSO included the drink AND dessert (choice of key lime pie or chocolate cake) ALL for $12.95. The fries were hand cut, not 'bag' fries, and were very good, the cole slaw was excellent. Sweet tea was just right, not 'too' sweet like ya get at alot of places. Highly recommend this restaurant. We will revisit next time we are in town.

This was great place my brother-in-law took us to. It's in a small strip mall on Hwy 707 near the local high school (St. James High ???). We went on a Monday night and they have a buy one get the second entree1/2 off (excludes senior meals and crab legs). They offer a menu of various seafood entrees, steak, chicken, hamburgers and ribs. The portions are large and very tasty. Service was excellent (Latoya A.) in a clean typical beach atmosphere. I felt the prices were reasonable and typical for the Myrtle Beach area. We look forward to going back.

Although the wait to be seated was not bad for party of 8, once seated we waited for almost 2 hours to get our food. We seldomly saw our waitress. All glasses were empty and asked for crackers several times. Once we did receive our food we were very pleased with the flavor; however for the price we were dissappointed with the portion sizes. We will not go back again.

My wife and I dined here recently. Seated immediately, onna was our server, she was great. Very helpful, had drinks, to large of glass, mix diluted the taste of alcohol, had a bloody mary, why do these places insist on using ready mix when a good one is so easy to make, but I digress. Donna brought us hush puppies to munch on, but no appetizer plates at all, and no type of sauce to dip. Food arrived very hot exactly as ordered surf and turf was excellent per my wife, I got seafood platter, first bite was fried oyster and got a mouth full of shells, damn near broke my teeth, platter good but typical fried food. Overall very good, need some small improvements but would return and have broiled fish with crabmeat in addition to steaks only cause all that fried food tastes the same. This place is a winner, and i'm very picky.

Oct. 30 decided to see what they had to offer some 6 months after Ive seen them on Beach TV. So we came in around 430ish, 6 ppl in clear view, ordered a glass of wine each. Wine was excellent. Looked over menu, She ordered Stuffed Flounder, I ordered Ribeye & Chicken plate. Best breadstick I have had the pleasure of biting into the sad part was there was only ONE! Stuffed flounder was a little cool, not ice cold but not fresh out of the oven either. She wasn't to keen on the stuffing used for this dish. Now lets talk about the combo plate I got; Prime Rib, ordered med rare came out perfect, Grilled Chicken breast, frozen product, pre-cooked,w/grill marks but never did it hit a grill due to non smoky flavor also overly marinated to lock in all so called juices, no good. You can do better than that if you put your mind to it......local chef

We dined here a few nights ago with a friend. We ordered seafood platters and to our surprise, the flounder and crab cake was a frozen product. Either put into a deep fryer or microwaved. The tip off was the absolute picture perfect look of the food. The breading looked as if it had been sprayed or painted on. It was too perfect. Quality of the food was sacrificed because of the product used. Staff was fast and very friendly. We decided we would not return for another meal here.

This was our second meal here. Both were very good. We get there early,5PM. Sat right down, when we left it was full. Food was very good and $10.99 for everything you "need" to eat was very reasonable. Except for the buffets not many places just seat you and serve you in minutes from 6PM on. I have been to way more eaterys in the area then I care to think and have waited at all of them, except the buffets, one time or another. Our servers were young and very friendly.I have eaten at recomended places that were all I was told and some that were terrible and very expensive, within weeks of the recomendation. I'm just sayin', they all seem to have a bad day now and then and I think it sometimes has alot to do with the attitude you bring to the table and your servers. We'll be going back, early, and often.

We visited Driftwood's tonight for the first time. We have a second home in Surfside Beach and eat out frequently. The food is excellent and comparable with any restaurant we have visited in the area.

We have watched this restaurant grow from the beginning, taking the chance to be off the beaten path hoping to be able to offer affordable prices you can't get at the beach. What a great idea, the food is constantly compared to some of the best seafood restaurants in Myrtle Beach. We are an easy family, so we understand how things can be. We come to the beach to relax and not be in a rush, so Driftwoods is our favorite place. Yes, they have gotten much busier and yes, many people have found out about the beaches best kept secret but the consistency of the food, service and affordability keep us going back as a couple or with our guest. With the atmosphere they have achieved, you would never know you weren't at a restaurant at the beach, we will continue going back ! The new raw bar area is going to be very helpful and a added plus for those who may have to wait a minute or two !

Recently visited Driftwood's and was very impressed for how busy the restaurant was. Our party of six was seated faily quick for the many people that were waiting (thought it would take forever). Once sat, we were greeted immediately but it did take a minute to get our drinks. We placed our orders which took about 20-25 min. to be brought out but were perfectly cooked and exactly the way we ordered them. Overall our party was very happy with our visit, they were very busy and neither the service nor quality suffered!

Called several times before arrival to confirm available table for eleven. Still had to wait 15+ minutes. Ordered from "early bird" menu, chose three broiled items. Wait for food was excessive. Deviled crab should be called "deviled bread" as there was little evidence of crab in it. Four quarter size scallops that were sandy and gritty. Four maybe 36-41 count size shrimp that were overcooked and rubbery. Hush puppies that were greasy through and through. Bleech! Fellow diners left much on their plates and in their bowls. Take home in foam boxes was eventually thrown out. The key lime pie was actually pretty good. And wait staff was very perky. Will not be going back, though. Bon appetit!

We were seated very quickly. The menu had several choices and the prices were very reasonable. The food took a bit longer than I would have liked to come to the table. Our waitress seemed to have tables all over the room, so our service was slow. It also took us longer than normal to pay our check. The food was good and you get a good amount of food for the money. I hope our experience with the service was due to short-staffing and is not the "norm." We plan to return with our children at another time.

Last Friday night we, went to driftwood for our second time ,was trying to go somewhere on a friday night that we did not have to wait for hours, we got there at 6 p.m. the host sat us right away , the loble was full , but it was full a party of 14 that ended up setting in our part also, well the host sat us at a 4 top along the left wall, we sat there about 4 min. or so then they sat the 14 , the young man wait on them and got all their drinks , before even talking to us over his shoulded as he was handing out drinks,so we just got up and left . I one time we did eat there the food was great!!! we are from MB, work at the sea captains House and I no it takes a great team to run a reataurants I just think that the2 young people just did not talk about giving this young man a 2 top and a 14 top at the same time Maybe will try agian sometime

Driftwood's offers the best value for the large amount of delicious seafood you get! We have eaten at this restaurant three times during our week-long vacation here and each time it has been fantastic. The early bird special is also a terrific value--with drink and dessert included with your meal! We have vacationed at Myrtle Beach and surrounding beaches for over 35 years and this is one of the best values and best seafood we've had. This restaurant is a little off the beaten path on 707, but it's well worth the few minutes it takes to drive to it from the oceanfront.

Well it seems a little unbelievable to give Driftwood's all Excellent ratings but "Above Average" isn't good enough for any of the categories. I don't know if I can say that everything is perfect but if you like seafood and especially if you have a family, you NEED to go to Driftwood's. There was less than a 5 minute wait even at peak dinner time, it's off the beaten path for Myrtle Beach dining. I don't think you'll find food as good or better anywhere else without paying a LOT more, and even then it might not happen. Many locals could be seen at this somewhat small but modern restaurant just 20 minutes from Rt. 17 Business on 707 (within sight of McDowell Shortcut Rd.). I personally had the Mahi Mahi which was great, not dry and little or no detectable "fishiness", the hushpuppies are as good as any I've had, the fries are cut and cooked in house, and the green beans are flavored with prime rib bits and broth, all impressive preparation for a family-style restaurant. My parents got a beautiful stack of fried seafood (the Driftwood Platter for Two). I also saw the blackened salmon and fried catfish and all were well prepared. On Mondays there is a special deal, buy one entree and get second of equal or lesser value half off. We just happened to come on a Monday and for 5 people dinner (with two salads added on) cost just $61, average of $12 per person. Truly amazing, you must try it out.

I've lived in the Murrells Inlet/Myrtle Beach area my whole life and cannot find better seafood than at Driftwood's. The food was by far amazing and the service was exceptional. I always bring my family to this restaurant when they come in to town. You won't find better food or prices anwhere around!
