My experience, UGH, Yuck !
The worst food ever! Crap I wouldn’t even feed my dogs. My Cheeseburger, burnt and dried up. No seasoning no sauce. The cheese sticks we’re god awful I think they were cooked in the microwave. And the flounder looks like rubber. The only decent thing about this restaurant was the one-man band and the mixed drinks. My advice to anyone that goes there and don’t eat the food. I’m really surprised they’re still open. Worst experience ever….. when The receipt was brought to us it had items on it that we did not purchase thank you once the receipt returned and it was revised it came back more $101.00, ref: 28425

Went to dd for our last dinner before leaving myrtle beach!! We were so dissatisfied with our food. They were having a special on steamed crabs, 20 dollars a dozen! Sounded like a bargain, well when they served us twelve female crabs that was our first disappointment the crabs were so soggy cracking them open was like cracking an egg there was water and a disgusting juice every where the meat wasn't edible I have never tasted anything so disgusting. Then they brought us a plate of meat ribs chicken and pulled pork with a side of grits. This was the poorest presentation of poor tasting food, everything was piled on top of everything it was so disgusting we should have saved money and had good food by eating at the chick filet up the street!!! The manager at dd did take the awful crabs off our bill! The waitress acted annoyed because we only tipped 15%! It took me a couple of hours to stop feeling sick from those disgusting crabs, thank goodness I didn't bother eating any of that gross meat plate! Save time and money scratch dd off of your meal plans, eat someplace nice and enjoy your vacation!!! ref: 27054

Ate there 2 years ago, was a good time, good food.
Returned this year, felt like food was just "average " for a "premium" price. Fries were definitely like freezer burn grocery store variety, waitress was not knowledgeable with menu & only moderately interested in taking care of us. A lot of staff just sitting around .
Atmosphere is sort of cafeteria feeling. Won't be back. ref: 26812

Last year 2012 i took my family and friends to Dirty Dick in North Myrtle Beach and we all loved it. So this year we all could not wait to get back there.Well should i say that i should of went some where else because it was not like it was a year ago.Menu was not good at all. We had a 9 year old boy along that ordered from the kids menu and he got the steak that was on it and if i was the waitress that had to bring that out to a customer i would of felt real bad the steak was a round as a chicken nugget and thin like a french fry.POOR... The french fries are like the ones you get from the store in the frozen section.. Poor. Save you money and go down the street to Stickey Fingers ref: 26783

We dined at Dirty Dick's Crab House on 6-26-2013, and have to say that this was the worst serving of food that I have ever experienced! To start with , ordered a cup of shecrab soup, but recieved a knock off cup of fish cowder, with a heavy pour of sherry. Not good. Rest of the meals were served straight from box, bland, and barely room temp. We decided that this would be our second trip, our first and our last! Save your money, just go to Walmart frozen foods section and get the same meals for a quarter of the price. Complaining does no good, they will not take bad meals off your check. ref: 26771

Went to Dirty Dicks Crab house in Myrtle beach. I ordered mussels, half of the mussels were not open. My understanding of steamed mussels is...if they don't open they are bad... I told the waitress and the Owner Manager came to the table, he offered to "re steam" them! I said "no if they don't open they are not good". he counted the ones that didn't open and had 6 new ones sent to the table. I bit into one and it was obviously bad ,I had to spit it out! My friend smelled them and thought they smelled bad I told the waitress, she took them away and said the manager said they didn't smell bad. She brought the check and did not take them off the bill. I paid the bill and left with out leaving a tip. The manager chased us out the door and said " you didn't leave a tip" I told him the mussels were bad and should have been taken off the bill to my surprise he said "its not the waitresses fault the food was bad"..
I was very upset with the way he handled this! I will Never go there again! My advice is Do Not Eat There!! I went out of my way to go there and was more than disappointed. Thumbs down to Dirty Dicks....

Over priced average seafood. Poor customer service. We ordered crab soup thinking it would be red based. Was cream based. We declined it. Manager refused to remove from bill. Never experienced that poor level of service in my life. Waitress was sweet but had poor menu knowledge.
On a positive note, the stuffed mushroom was delicious. However I would not recommend this place to anyone. ref: 26654

Waited by the hostess sign for atleast 10 mins or longer and no one came to seat us. The bartender was too busy cleaning to notice us and no manager to be found...so finally we left...when I called back to speak to the manager he acted as if he could have given two sh#ts about what I was saying. He said he was sorry that happened and thanked me for the call...all in one breath...probably forgot about it 2 seconds after the call. He just wanted to get me off the phone...the restaurant name says it all... because he sure was Dirty!!! and was a D#ck!!!!! ref: 26621

Was in the mood for seafood found 'dirty dicks' and decided to give it a try. Sat at a table in the bar so little wait time. My lady ordered flounder 'fillet' and I tried crabmeat lasagna which was supposed to have lump crabmeat in it. The fillet was served with the skin on and there was not one solid piece of crabmeat in the lasagna dish instead it was stuffed with crab paste. When we complained to the manager he said they dont use paste and a filleted fish is supposed to have the skin on it or it was not fresh. Basically he asked us to leave, did not offer any discount on the bill of even a courtesey cup of coffee. The second manager got in my face and we kinda got into it. Won't go into detail but it was not pleasant. That took the entire dirty dicks chain off my list permanently. ref: 25737

I just returned from Afghanistan and my wife decided to treat me to a week vacation at the beach. Unfortunately, dirty dicks crab house was the first restaurant we ate at. The food was really good but the service was the worst I have seen yet. The server we had really left a bad taste with us. It started out with a very long wait to have our order for drinks/meals. Also, We had to ask other servers that walked by for things. I must say the other severs were very helpful. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. ref: 25532

We went here expecting the typical restaurant fair for a beach town, but were very pleasantly surprised to find a great staff, excellently prepared food and wonderful atmosphere. We highly recommend it. It was our favorite place to eat at the beach this trip.Our waitress was terrific and the seasoning used on the vegetables, seafood, etc. was very unique. We visited Dirty dicks crabhouseat 1101 st. rt 17, n. myrtle Tuesday evening for the first time to celebrate our 52 anniversary. We loved the restaurant, the grouper we ate, but most of all we loved our server, Keven. What a delightful young man! He had a sense of humor, was extremely helpful, and seemed to know after talking a few minutes with us exactly what to suggest that we would like or not like. Loved that boy, and the food was sooo good and huge portions which we couldn't even finish! what a wonderful 53nd anniversary we had. ref: 23908

My wife and I dined at Dirty Dicks MB on 8/21/11 and we both got sick shortly after. I really don't think it was food poisoning but I'm not ruling it out. I think it was more related to the heavy grease in the breading for the scallops. I used to love this restaurant and I have written many positive reviews in the past but this experience was horrible and, when I spoke to the manager the next morning, he was very rude. He didn't care at all and simply blamed it on something else I must have eaten. We are positive the sickness originated at his restaurant. This restaurant is not what it used to be. This is the second time I posted this comment on this website today. The first one was removed. Not sure why but I will continue to spread the word on several other MB websites. ref: 23785

I have written many positive reviews for Dirty Dicks in the past but our experience on 8/21/11 was awful. My wife and I both got sick shortly after leaving and this continued through the night. I don't necessarily think it was food poisoning, but I'm not ruling that out. It may have been due to over-saturated grease. Maybe from breaded scallops. When I spoke to mgr. Dale Green the next morning, he was plain rude and attributed it to something I must have eaten someplace else. My wife and I were both sick and we actually didn't eat the same thing for lunch or breakfast that day. After speaking to Dale, I contacted the owner and he was very nice but he didn't call me back like he said he would. I am very disappointed because I used to love this place. Party of 11, sat at a table for eight, Uncomfortable!! We sat for 10 minutes before our server took our drink and appetizer order...20 minutes later we were served our appetizers before our drinks when we did get them all of the beers were warm and the bottles were sweating, The service went on and on like this, food was so so, for the money horrible...my crab cakes were still doughy, my husbands red snapper was awefully dry....then the manager made excuses for the server
then we were forced to tip him top percent...the worst 115 dollars spent on two dinners!! ref: 23589

The food was terrible and burnt. The waitress named Norma Jean doesnt need to be waiting tables. She probably only had a third grade education and this was the only job that someone as stupid as her could get. It took us over an hour to just get our food and they were not busy. I refused to pay for the burnt food. The food I did pay for took the waitress 15 minutes to check us out and bring back out change. As you can guessed, she got no tip. The only tip I could give her was get another job. This one is not for you. Beware of this restaurant. ref: 23490

Omg.......for one our waiter (who"s name is kyle) was very intuitive and personable and was right on the money with taking care of us. The she crabcrab soup was amazing! There was more crab in the soup then ordering an order of crab legs! Also their hush puppies were the best we've ever had. My family and I recommend this place hands down. Great food, clean restaurant a little expensive especially the kids meals and appetizers. Huge portions. Great location if you are staying in N. Myrtle/cherry grove. Food was decent, but selection limited. My wife asked for hot tea, but they don't carry it?!?!
Definitely overpriced for the value of what you get. Almost impossible to avoid everything deep fried.
Much better when it was Calico Jack's. We ate there twice-the first time and the last time. ref: 23101

I should have ordered the crab legs since a couple of people said they were good. I ordered the flounder. It had more batter than flounder, had no taste and I couldn't get enough salt out of the shaker to give it taste. The fish were lying on a bed of french fries referred to as Dicks fried potatoes. They were the precut, ridged frozen fries. The creamy slaw was not creamy, kind of dry with no taste. The hush puppies were greasy and probably fried in the grease used all day. My husband ordered the shrimp and oyster combo. More batter than shrimp or oysters. We pulled apart a couple of the oysters to find little hint of oyster. He said his had no taste either, same fries and same uncreamy coleslaw. We paid $53 plus for the no good food and left half of it on the plate. Never again will I go to a Dirty Dicks. ref: 22107

1st off, i'm a local..
bad, bad, bad.. wife's food had a 4 inch brown hair wrapped around scallop. instead of apologizing the manager just stated "we only have guys cooking the food." dont know what that has to do with a 4 inch brown hair. by the way, my head is close to shaved, and my wife is blonde. i had the crab pot, which gives 1/2 the food you get from a crab pot from "joe's crab shack". my advise, dont go to dirty dick's, especally since joe's crab shack is only a couple/few miles away in barefoot landing. ref: 20971

We had the geaux geaux shrimp and the she crab soup as appetizer's, both of which were exceptional. I had the stuffed shrimp, which did not wow me, but was good. My husband had one of the skewers, which he enjoyed. But one appetizer, one soup and two entrees with no alcholic beverages and our bill was over $100. Good food, prices a little much. ref: 20853

Having been a fan of Santa Fe Station, decided to try Dirty Dick's which is in the same spot the Station was. We went early and were quickly seated and waitress was attentive. If you want a drink like a Pina Colada or Daiquiri, you have to buy the $9.95 souvenir glass, waitress said no option to get it without the glass. Also, strict policy of no substitutions without a $1.50 additional charge. So if you want potatoes instead of beans, it will cost you. Food was average, some of the side were quite unusual. Waitress told us they are going to remodel since the place is set up all wrong, but with all the other choices in Grand Strand area, we won't be back to see it. ref: 20679
