Not suited for people without a healthy sense of humor.

If you have a good sense of humor, Dick's Last Resort is the perfect place to be. I love the smart-ass waitors, and the funny hats. I have been there twice, and I plan to go there again next time I go to Myrtle Beach. The food is average, but the atmosphere and service make up for it. Dick's is definitley worth going to. ref: 1559

My boyfriend and I were there over Labor Day weekend and we had a BLAST.. our waiters name was DAN and he rocked, even though he had to be rude he was pretty cool. We had fun with the people around us and his comments on our hats were priceless...we laughed the whole time we were there...and the food wasn't bad. The portions of the main course are small but the bucket of fries and the desserts are crazy HUGE!!! And if you have the VIP card your bill isn't much at all. It was like $35 and we both had meals, a dessert which was so big two of us didn't finish, and alcohol and I walked out of there with a glass... I highly recommend Dicks Last Resort!!!! ref: 1270

It was a startling thing to walk in and have the waitress announce on the PA system - Hey you, pick up some menus and find yourself a table to sit at". but that was just part of the atmosphere... and Carmen, our waitress, put on her best and most insulting side. The food was basic bar food.. but it was good. Not so funny when you have to use the restroom was the fake door, with a picture of john wayne behind it telling you that "You can't pee here pilgrim". When you gotta go, you gotta go. But all in all a great place for a good sense of humor. And we did get the funny condom hats, ref: 1123

It is true; if you have never been to Dick's, it's worth one trip, but why would anyone go back unless you were taking someone you didn't like! Of course, you have to buy into the rudeness and noise, that is part of the package, but the food isn't that great and you can't even get a burger, but you can expect to pay $12-14 per entree (which is served in a bucket) if I remember. Lots of other places to try in MB without putting yourself through this experience more than once. ref: 1094

Atmosphere: Although the attitude is part of the atmosphere - they've taken it too far. It's angry, not funny. There are no jokes, only insults. Never even got a Condom Hat - that's half the reason to go.
Food: Chickens wings were dangerously undercooked. Table and floor were beyond filthy. The Dept of Health would have a hayday here.
Service: Waiter never asked if we needed anything. He never checked in on us once. Do they have dessert? We'll never know - oh well. Our waiter pocketed the cash we gave for the bill. Did it ever make it into the register? After seeing the bill tossed on the floor, unlikely. I mentioned my observation to another employee, and the response was "it's his money anyway".
I will NEVER return to Dick's or recommend it to anyone. ref: 1027

Dicks Last Resort is the best place to go with your family if you are looking for a great place to have fun. You DEFINITELY need a good sense of humor because the wait staff can be pretty rude. Although that is what they are taught to be. It is a great place though my family and I really enjoyed it. Funny hats and great sense of humor throughout and all of the guests around us seemed to have an excellent time. I'd say they had decent prices, at least for their lunch menu. Also the kids seemed to have enjoyed it greatly. I must say you should really go to Dicks Last Resort in Myrtle Beach!!! It is a great place to have a great time!!!! ref: 885

Traveling with a big family this was the place to be and we had a lot of fun. I will go back again and again just to be in the atmosphere. The food was good and the prices aren't that bad considering the surrunding resturants. This is the best place to go in Myrtle Beach!!!!!!!!!! ref: 822

Nice place to experience but would much rather spend my money somewhere else. Food is uninteresting and very basic, although tasty enough. Good place to go for a change! ref: 800

As far as food and quality are concerned, this is not the place. With so many other places to eat on the Grand Strand I recommend that this one comes close to last. The service stinks (as intended), the portions are small, and the food isn't that good, being pre-cooked and prepped w/out that home-cooked feeling. Very chainy! A definite tourist attraction and worth maybe one visit, but that's all. ref: 625

This place is a favorite for our vacations. The kids really loved it! Bring your sense of humor and prepare to be insulted while you enjoy some of the best food around. Loved the atmosphere, and the hats were a special treat. We've actually saved ours from year to year, and last summer we walked in wearing our hats from a previous visit. The wait staff was blown away! Can't wait to go back to Dick's! ref: 507

I loved it!! I thought the service was great, the night we were there, every table seemed to have at least 2 waiters/waitresses. Of course, that meant double the insults. You definitely need a sense of humour and cannot be easily offended. Not for the faint of heart. Loved the condom shaped hats they put on your head... every one had their own personal insult to bring home. I loved the blackened chicken, very spicy. Band was excellent, next time I go I would plan to stay longer though. Definitely a must when visiting Myrtle Beach. ref: 433

You MUST have a good sense of humor to eat at Dick's Last Resort!!! Thankfully, we did think their antics were very very funny, but there were other groups at nearby tables that were offended by the the waiters and waitresses insults and rude comments. We thought they were hilarious, and tipped them anyway. :)
You just have to go there at least once to see what I mean. Very very funny indeed. ref: 73
