The prime rib was just as expected, cooked to perfection. The service was spectacular to say the least, the server knew menu and drink specials like she had been rehearsing for a starring role , and she was truly on top of everything, even though her section was packed. We will definitely be BACK for a true treat on the beach. We would highly recommend Damon's on the beach to everyone !!! Can hardly wait for our next beach escape and to dine with the fine folks at Damon's on the Beach.

We stopped in before hitting the ocean activities for lunch on a Sunday. it wasn't crowded at all with the exception of one larger party of 10 people eating lunch . Once we got seated our server was calling my husband "bro" and talking about us ordering prime rib at 12 in the afternoon. He was trying to upsell our order of two salads and I get it but he couldn't believe we just wanted salads. when we finally got our food (took 20 mins for salads-no joke) we barely seen our server after that. then we wanted to get our check and my husband said we were in a hurry bc we had a jet ski reservation to get to, his response was hey bro I have like ten people cashing out all at once. We looked around and there was at least three other servers not doing anything but gossiping about their tip amounts , why couldn't he have asked for help? Rude servers, bad service. NOT WORTH.GOING THERE!!!!

It was the first and last time at Damon's Grill. We were told 30 minute wait and that was ok. We came on the Labor day weekend and expected the wait. It was about 30 minutes. However, there is no microphone for the hostess to call out names. She would scream the family's name in front of you in the small waiting area. Then she would walk to the bar and scream the name again, then run to the front of the building and scream it out a third time. It is most annoying to have her scream on the top of her lungs but my goodness, the hostess is working her tail off trying to help people. The management should make her job a little bit easier and get a PA system, it is 2010 for goodness sake. Now to the service and food. We sat down and the male server had a puss on his face. My husband smiled and said " you had a tough night", the server said "you could tell"? He said it without a smile. He never explained by having the soup you don't get a potato with your meal. We didn't get bread, my mushrooms and onions had maybe one mushroom cut up into tiny pieces. The prime rib was good. Salad good, but again, no potato because we had the soup. The server took our plates and said "full"? I said, "yes". He said, "good I will get your check". He didn't ask us for dessert or coffee. I said "no we don't want a check, we want dessert". He knew I was annoyed. I went to check out why we didn't get a potato with dinner, the server saw me go ask the hostess panicked. He told me, "I took the apple pie and payed for it. There will be no charge". He knew he was horrible. My husband still gave him an $8 tip. If it was up to me $5 would of been best. I will never recommend this place to anyone. It is a shame. I worked with Public Relations for many years and Damon's didn't come close to being customer friendly at all.

The length of time to be seated was excellent simply because the place was empty on a friday night. That should tell you a lot about the quality of this restaurant. The prime rib was dry and tasteless, improved only by the watery horse radish that it was served with. The ribs were fatty and sparingly washed with a sweet bottled sauce that was probably Kraft or No-Name Brand. The mashed potatoes were tolerable, just. The waiter sounded (and behaved) like Boomhauer from King of the Hill. The meal started with a kind of "bloomin onion" style dish and some sweet bread rolls with a seasoned butter that were quite tasty, but that was about the best thing about the meal. Give this one a pass.

We like to dive at this restaurant as our Sunday afternoon treat. We usually sit in the bar area so we can smoke and we are used to the noise level is usually high. But the last time we dined in the main sitting area, just for a change. The food was still good (shrimp basket is my favorite), but we had to deal with large groups of rude, pushy, very loud tourists. I think from now on we will let them have at it, and we will simply wait until the off season. Although we are missing the house-made potato chips.

My boyfriend and I decided to go to Damon's for breakfast. We were seated promply and the waitress informed us that Damon's had a "new breakfast buffet" We decided to try it..BIG MISTAKE. Most people expect to get their plates, pick out their food and be back in your seat within 5 min at a buffet..not here. We waited in line for one chef (for the entire restaurant) to make us two omlettes. The chef not only was taking our orders, but he stoped midway to take an order from a waitress. So wether you ordered off the menu or the buffet, the same cook was making it. So we stood there starved waiting for our food to be cooked and he promplty handed off our eggs to a waitress to take to another table. After we explained the confusion to the run away eggs, he had to start over before another waitress appeared to give him her table order! The food that was premade looked like it had been in microwave for way too long. I went up for biscuits and gravy only to find very scary looking gravy and no biscuits. When the staff finally returned with the biscuits, they looked like I could have paved my driveway with them. The worst experience was about 3 minutes after we left, my boyfriend and I both got sick..what a way to spend our first day on vacation. We do not reccomend this restaurant

Just ate here june 2010, Sucks!!!!! Ribs were so horrible, and service was awful!!! Fat, fat and more fat Never had such terrible meat and drench in bbq sauce. Ask for better or less fatty ones, and they were no different. Waiter just kept saying of course, did nothing to make adjustment, or even compinsate something , after he was told still didnt like entree. Wont be going back, used to be great before they burned down, but now its not worth wasting your $$$$ so please dont go here!!!

On february 27 2010, some of my friends and family decided to dine at Damons because my wife and I had eaten at the one in Columbia SC a week before and had a great experience. BIG MISTAKE!!!!! Took ten minutes to be seated in an empty restaruant which was ok. My brother in-law and I ordered two tall budlights and the mugs and beer were warm. Gave benefit of the doubt asked the waitress for another and enquired about warm mugs and she replied they were out of frozen mugs. Got the french onion soup and it was cold but good flavor. Wife and I got two 6 oz sirloins which were not seasoned at all. Mine was supposed to be medium well and it was rare. My wife's was supposed to be well and it was shoe leather. Prime rib looked rubbery. Bread was very cold. Very bad experience all together will never return.

This was recomended by the staff of the hotel we stayed at we are very sorry we listened to them. Waitress was excellent, view was great, and that is were the good stops.... I was under the impression thier ribs and pork were good, I was way wrong. The bbq sause was more ketchup then any thing and they were not shy with it on the pulled pork. Ribs were so dry and flaverless, i gave up on eating them. I took the leftovers and ended up giving them to the sea gulls. My daughter had the mac and cheese from the kids menu. It looked and tasted like BOXED grocey store type. My wifes crab cakes were not as advertised, (not large lump meat and somewhat small in size) and dry also. We eat out often and out all the resturants we ate at during our stay at M B, this was the worst food we had, and were sorry it cost us almost $50. We ate at many other resturants that were way better priced and quality of food.

We ate here during our vacation in Sept '09 and loved it. The location is awesome - right on the water, huge outdoor seating area. We waited about 20 minutes for a table and our waitress was really nice and checked on us just the right amount of times - not too much, not too little. The food was great and personally I think the prices are incredibly reasonable, especially for a beautiful restaurant with an amazing view. We are looking forward to eating at Damon's again on our next trip to MB!

I have never been treated so poorly in my life by a hostess. I spoke with one of the managers about how badly I was treated and she had no idea what was going on under her watch. It is apparent that they do not rely on repeat business. Other customers that I spoke with were in agreement with myself and my husband. We were not greeted in a way that would inspire us to visit another mediocre restaurant with such low standards. I would put it on par with Spuds in Murrells Inlet. Don't waste your time or money eating here. It is comparable to fast food. There are so many choices that are so much better. I recommend almost anything else...a bologna sandwich for example...

My daughter and son in law had their after wedding party at damons. We had a private room reserved weeks ahead. We got there at 8 15 the room was not ready the table not set, and other people in our private room. Food was missing off our menu we set up. Steaks bleading that was ordered well done. Rolls hard and cold. Crab cakes tasted like sand. Only prime rib was well done , when we had it on our menu they did not have any other but well done prime rib and our guest wanted other types of doneness. Hostess was very rude when guest arrived late by 15 minuets even though theu were called and told the wedding ran late.when my son in law asked for the manager he/she would not come out said they were on a confrence call at 9 30. Dont think so. They sent two glasses of wine out thinking that would shut them up not. We were there till 11 30 pm the manager never had the balls to come speak to us. We spent over a thousand dollars there but never again . Then the wedding cake we took down that morning , they brought it out and they had cracked it down the middle. This place sucks dont eat there take your bussines else where.

This is a typical chain restaurant , mediocre food and service but great location. The hostess was very rude and unfriendly. If she is that bitter, she is in the wrong job. Her attitude ruined our lunch and we will be in no hurry to return. There are far better beachfront places to eat if you are willing to drive a bit. Complained to the manager but only got lipservice. Complained to corporate and got comped free lunches. We will redeem our complimentary lunch and hope to find a civil hostess.

This is a good place to go for a burger and a beer. Do not make the same mistake I made which was paying 20 dollars for the worst piece a meat I have ever had. You could tell the meat had been freezer burned by the leather texture on the outside. The grilled shrimp was microwaved and cool to the touch when it arrived. Other people in my party had fries that came out cold and things of that nature. The service staff was friendly and fast but the food was aweful! I would not order anything more than a burger and fries here.

My parents & I have been to Damon's on the ocean numerous times. We especially frequent during the summer months when we have company in town. We traditionally have a great meal. This past Sunday we brought our out of town guests & received the worst service ever. From drink orders to bringing the check, it was the slowest & most unfriendly servers I've experienced in a long time. There were two younger gentleman that waited on us. I'm not sure if they weren't communicating between the two but at most times it felt like neither one of them was our server!! This also resulted in cold food. Hope it's better next time!! Yikes!!

In May of 2008, My husband and I and another couple traveled to Myrtle Beach for Bike week. Out hotel was approx 3-4 blocks away from Damon's. So we walked down and had a small wait, approx 30 minutes around 8pm. We chose the dining room overlooking the beach. The service was good, the food was great, the atmosphere was awesome. We each had different menu items ranging from appetizers to steak to sandwiches. It was all very good. Can't wait to return in Aug of 2010 when we bring our entire family down from Illinois to renew our wedding vows. This is one restaurant we will bring them to. The walk back to the hotel on the beach was magnificent. I had to write this review after reading all the crude one. People keep in mind that restaurants go through a lot of turnover with employees. So I hope that the people that said they would never return will give it another try. Our experience was great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also if you are dining in an outside dining on a breezy night, no your food is not going to stay hot. It's just as if you cook out at home. In Myrtle beach there is always a breeze.

We visited late afternoon for dinner and were very disapppointed. My husband got the half rack of ribs and they were tasteless and they tasted like they were cooked the day before. I had the BBQ pork sandwich which was substandard in portion size and taste. The side of onion straws was stone cold and the sandwich was not warm. It was our first visit to Damon's and we won't return. There was nothing outstanding and very little to write home about. Our server was friendly- that's about it

We liked this place in the past but were not happy with our most recent visit. The services was fine and the view is really spectacular but the food isn't worth it. The ribs and steak were dry. My family and I decided to try Damon's Grill on the ocean in Myrtle Beach for my birthday dinner. We were greeted by a rude hostess and said to sit outside would be a 2 hour wait. We were seated inside in about 5 minutes at a dirty booth right next to the kitchen that was too high for my 16 month old daughter to sit in a high chair. There were many other tables available. We asked for a booster seat at least 6 times, and finally got one after our meal came. I showed my birthday coupon of buy one entree' get one free to the server first thing. She said they could not take it because they are not affiliated with Damon's Grill, when their name clearly says "Damon's Grill" on everything. No explanation was given. Although I wanted to leave at this point, we stayed for what became a miserable birthday dinner. The children around us continually played drums on their seats so loud it was disturbing the whole restaurant. I ordered the grilled shrimp, which the tiny little things tasted like dirt. My husband ordered the prime rib sandwhich and it had NO flavor. It was so full of fat, he couldn't eat it. His fries were so soggy they were stuck together. We received our salads AFTER our dinners. We never had our drinks refilled or were offered any dessert. I was extremely dissappointed with my first and only experience at Damon's and am extremely reluctant to ever return to another. I definately will not return to the Damon's on Myrtle Beach.

What a shame...you have an ideal oceanfront dining experience just waiting for you...then it's fouled up by cold food and an indifferent staff. Our entire table of 8 was served cold food. My son's macroni and cheese was cold and pasty. My steak was seasoned well, but was room temperature at best. The trademark onion loaf was hot, but greasier than normal, and our first batch of rolls could have served as a guide for judging the hardness of diamonds. Upon asking our server for hot ones, we got a 'ok, those not hot enough?". The pinnacle of the evening was when finally chatting with the manager on the way out, we again got a 'we'll check into it'. I won't hold my breath. Eat there with caution!!!

We choose this restaurant because it was the only one we found with an ocean view, we were disappointed that there was not more of a seafood selection. We chose the ribs because our server (who was very nice) said they were the specialty of the restaurant. They were very good the salad was fresh, we were seated immediately. I would go back mainly because the view is wonderful.

3rd time at a Damon's. 2nd time at this one. NOT GOOD. Wife's prime rib was like rubber and seemed 3 days old. Crab cakes were O.K. Fish & chips are frozen over-sized fish sticks that were chewy, daughter's Penne was greasy. Will not eat there again. Super views of the Ocean and great service with a smile and atmosphere. The sweet tea was not. The salad was warm. The Crab Cakes were bland. The Kelbi Salmon was grilled.. that's about it. Nothing special. I guess it is because they specialize in ribs. Our waiter probably needs to find another line of work. I shouldn't have tipped, but I am a nice person. It's not his fault. It's management. See below.

The manager came out and only talked to the people at the booth between us and some other customers about their Key Lime Pie, which is made in-house. They were "older" and they are probably "regular" customers. But she commented when the manager left about not knowing the pie was made in-house. (That how close we were sitting to them.)

I won't eat there on my next trip.

We called and made a reservation and were told 30 minutes. We walked over from next door about 25 minutes later and were handed a beeper and told it would be a 45 minute wait! When we were finally seated (about an hour later) the service started off OK. The salads were good. Within one minute of receiving our meals, we were asked if we needed anything and that was the last we heard of our waiter until we flagged him down for our checks (no drink refills). Those of us who had ordered steaks were not happy, they were tough, dry, and grainy. We had to ask to have a burger removed from the check because it was not evenly cooked or cooked through. He did remove it after arguing that she had ordered it that way (meduim). All around bad experience and a shame because it is right next to the hotel we stay in every year. We will NEVER go back!!

Better love pork if you come here! Non-pork items are limited. Had some chicken BBQ, not bad if you like a sauce loaded with sugar. View is FANTASTIC. This is a little corner of the beach is nice, just north of Springmaid pier. Will be your typical casual dining $10 lunch. Staff seemed indifferent toward their jobs.

We were staying at the Crown Reef next door and visited the Ocean Front Restaurant next door...Damon's. It was during the off season. Our waitress was very nice, the view was fantastic! The food was very good, not 5 star but very good. The atmosphere was romantic and very welcoming. We had a pleasant experience and we would visit again! However...it seemed that management input was somewhat...Non-existent!

While attending a conference in Myrtle Beach, during supper break (1 hour) a couple of other people and I went for supper. We were seated promptly and our order was taken (not written down). While others around us received their food, we continued to ask about ours (about every 15 minutes), was told it would be right out, but it still did not come. At the very last minute we could possibly stay, we stood and the waitress appeared with our hot food. Since we had to get back to the conference we asked for "to go" boxes. No explanation was offered. We were not charged for our drinks. No supervisor or manager approached us. During the conference we got a break later on and decided to try to "wolf" down our food, which to our surprise included n silverware. We were very disappointed. This is an annual meeting we attend and Damons is very convenient to the conference center, but I would discourage trying to eat there if you don't have several hours to wait for grilled shrimp.

Damon's in Myrtle Beach is exactly like Damon's in Dallas, TX. Granted, the one in Myrtle has a great view though! I'd say it's one of the very few ocean front dining establishments in Myrtle Beach. What a shame there aren't more.

I had my first Myrtle Beach experience this past summer and it was amazing. On one of our last nights there we went to Damon's Grill, and it was awesome! Both my cousin and I got steak and it was cooked to perfection. Our sides and salads were great as well. We sat outside in the back and it was beautiful and so nice. Not only was it beautiful, and good food, but it was a great value. Very good prices, especially for the atmosphere and quality.

We just came back from Damons tonight. Although not recently we had been to Damons in other cities and after reading reviews here decided to try it because of the oceanfront view and because I LOVE ribs. We arrived at 5:15 on a Monday and were promptly seated outside with a beautiful view of the ocean. Our waitress Lawson was spunky and very attentive to our needs throughout the entire meal. The poor reviews here plus the zillion calories were enough of a motivator not to order the onion loaf. We each had a salad which was good but not special. I ordered my favorite combination of babyback ribs, coleslaw and french fries. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband had ordered a 12oz Prime Rib. It was mediocre but c'mon this is teh place for RIBS! The only other thing to note was the salad came out within 5 minutes of ordering and the entrees as soon as she cleared our salads. We had 3 young children with us so it was okay but if you were kidless and wanting to eat leisurely that might be annoying. Overall, a very good experience with great ocean views. I would definately go back.

My family ate at Damon's on 7-29-07 during our stay at Myrtle Beach. The pork ribs are to die for!! Very tender and meaty. The only complaint was that our food came less than a minute after our salads were served.. (Didn't get to enjoy the salads or bread, because we wanted to eat the ribs that were brought too soon. Certain things should be eaten hot.) The ribs were so delicous however, we will definetly go back. Winston-Salem, NC

We visited Damon's on July 14 2007. What a beautiful Oceanfront setting. We have stayed at the Crown Reef Resort for years and never tried Damon's eventhough it is right next door. A little expensive but well worth the quality you receive. We all had either Beef or BBQ and all were good. The service was outstanding. We were seated immediately, but in all fairness for this review, we arrived around 4:30 pm, before the dinner rush, but the place is large enough to accomodate any size crowd. This is the place to go if you want to skip a buffet. We will return again! Thank you!

Very bad experience,There were 4 of us and it was Fathers day. I had prime rib and ribs, all the rest had chicken. We had a onion loaf,it was very greasy. We sat outside, our salads were full of brown lettuce. When we got our food everything was cold except for our baked potato, which they served with no butter. We got butter 10 minutes later.Prime rib was overcooked. We spoke to the manager,he really didn't have a clue. It also took him 10 minutes to come and speak with us. Guess what we won't be back!! We stumbled upon Damons while at MB one year and have been going back ever since...It is right down the street from where our condo is. The kids love going to Damon's..It has a gorgeous view, any table that you sit at, you look out over the water. Damon's is willing to work with you if you are picky or on a specialized diet. The service is always above par and the food is delicious!! Can't wait to go eat in July...

We were up there during Black Bike Week. Wanted to get a nice meal by the ocean so we went into Damon's not really knowing anything about it. We didn't have to wait at all to be seated. We were there about 4:30pm. I had the rib eye and my boyfriend had the ribs. Everything was really good along with the service. Our server was very attentive and brought all the food out in a timely manner and nice and hot. The price for two entrees a corona and a pina colada with tip was about 45.00 dollars. Not bad at all, we really enjoyed the food and atmosphere there and will defenitely go back on our next trip to Myrtle Beach, Bon Appetit!

5/19/2007 the pork chops were not as thick and the sauce was not as good as usual. The waitress was not knowledgable of the menu. I did not get my appetizer that I ordered. When I ask about it she said she would bring some onions. They were cold but she brought them at the samr time she brought the meal. The only thing that was at all good was the sweet potato cassarole. This is the worst I have ever had there and I aalways enjoy the restaurant and sitting out side. When you pay the price to eat there and you get bad food and bad service it does not make you excited about going back. I usually visit myrtle beach 8 to 10 times a year and usually eat there, but I will think awhile before going back..

We visited the end of April (not during many school vacations) so we had no wait. We agree with other posts the "Damon's Famous Onion Loaf" is very very greasy and not worth trying! Other than that the food was excellent! I had the shrimp and ribs combo and my husband ordered the BBQ Brisket - both were great!

I used to love this restaurant, we would eat there at least once each time we came to Myrtle Beach. The last two times we went there it was terrible and we will never eat their again. To begin with, we didn't receive any bread until we asked for it. I had a mixed drink and the ice was already melting by the time I received the lime and stir stick that should have already been with it. We got our salads and had to wait for at least five minutes after that for silverware. Our food had began to get cold before my son received the ketcup we requested. I ordered the Bristow Filet Medallions (I think this is what it was called.I checked their online menu to make sure I was correct, but to no surprise the onine menu is not what they have in the restaurant.) and received the Filet Mignon. The Filet Medallions was to come with peppercorn gravy, sauteed mushroom and onion. The Filet Mignon did not and it was $7.00 more than what I ordered. The steak was overcooked and extremely dry. We also waited 30 minutes to be seated and when we were seated there were about 10-15 tables available and people were still waiting. In other words, this is probably the worst experience I have ever had at a resaurant.

Smokers are not welcomed at this resturant! Damon' does not provide any indoor dining for smokers. Smoking is permitted in the bar but only drinks and appatizers are provided. Smoking is permitted in the outdoor dining area but if it's raining or to cold the outdoor dining area is closed. Last night the temp. was in the mid 70's but the dining area was closed do to being to cold. I guess if the temp. goes below 80 they close the outdoor dining area. We will never go back. For you non-smokers this is the resturant for you.

What a great find. Just around the block from our motel, I had no idea that this is a chain. We went for lunch and seating outside was completely open. I had a really great salad with HOT buffalo tenders. Husband enjoyed one of the specialty sandwiches. The bar area looked really nice; I wish we were going back tonight.

This restaurant is a typical chain example. No matter what Damon's you go to in US, you're going to get a good meal. But it's also the restuarant's downfall. You can go to one almost anytime. The appealing factor is that it's ocean front. We sat outside where we could watch the ocean roll its waves on the beach below us. The food was on par with what I expected and the service was average. It was just a very chain like experience with the exception of ocean front dining which is kind of rare in a beach city.

Excellent location if you can get a table on the deck which is right on the beach. Service was typical of this type of eatery but I though the food was better prepared than any of the local Damon's I had visited. Just remember, if you are outside, you need to paper weight your napkins and such.

Our waitress (forgive me for not getting her name) made this an excellent review. Knew the menu with options, and sides up, down, backwards, and sideways. Very attentive to every need and question, but not in the way. Her section was full, where others weren't and she didn't miss a beat with anyone.

Food and service were great.

This Damon's is beachfront which makes for a great atmosphere. Dine inside or out on the deck. Went twice this trip.
