We chose to eat at this restaurant because of the amazing view....but unfortunately we were highly disappointed the food was quite average compared to others we had in the inlet. When we first walked in we were greated by the owner of the restaurant who proceeded to talk quite loudly and crudly through out the night he seemed to have no regard or respect for females or the rest of his staff for that matter. He treated his staff like they were personal eye candy and made comments that I would never dream of even saying to my employees. He continued to be loud and very inappropriate as he CHUGGED a glass of red wine in a race with one of his employees!! again the food was ok and the service was great but the owners actions were absolutely horrible!!!

We stayed in Myrtle Beach this past week. Thanks to all the other reviews of this restaurant, we decided to give it a try. Very friendly staff, fast service. We tried the conch fritters for an appetizer which were pretty good. They have a great frozen drink selection. I recommend the toasted almond. The fish tacos were great...Loved the atmosphere. We ate out on the deck and enjoyed the ocean view while we ate...all in all a great experience and we will be back..

This is THE BEST RESTAURANT on the strand! It is why I come to the beach. I enjoy eating outside in warm weather with the ocean in front of me and the cool breeze. The chowders( all of the varieties) are a wonderful start to your meal. I have tried many of the entrees and sandwiches and they are the best! The prices are VERY reasonable and the service is great. I'm ready for this spring/summer to BEGIN!

Had dinner at the restaraunt last evening. The atmosphere is and always has been terrific. The food however has declined over the years. We have lived in Surfside for twenty years and we have eaten at The Conch many times a year. The wait staff are always great. It can get loud at times but the noise on the deck is minimal since you have the ocean in the background and it has a relaxing effect. We had prime rib and ribeye steaks for the main course and the steaks had no seasoning and were not cooked to the desired wellness. The appetizers were good and on par in cost to other establishments. Overall if you want to pay a premium for atmosphere the The Conch is your place.

My wife and I had lunch on June 16, 2009 while sightseeing down the coast from Myrtle Beach. We wanted to eat on the water and arrived early enough (11:30) to get a table on the porch. The fish chowder was delicious (fresh shrimp, scallops, fish, vegetables with a nice tomato broth) as were the shrimp po-boy and grouper sandwich (lightly battered and fried). The waitress was friendly and efficient and recommended the fish chowder. The porch overlooks the beach so there was lots too look at. The restaurant was fairly busy on a Tuesday which suggests a popular spot.

Conch Cafe is my absolute favorite place to eat lunch in the Myrtle Beach area! We own a house here and everytime we visit, I make it a point to eat there at least once. During the warmer weather you can eat on the deck looking over the beach. The flounder sandwich is my favorite and is always fresh tasting and delicious. Everytime we have visitors, we always take them to CC to eat. Every entree on the menu is delicious. My only complaint is that they close down during the winter months!

This is one of my favorite places to eat and entertain compamy visiting from out of town. The staff are very nice and the food is great. I think its very cool they allow the wait staff to wear sun glasses while working on the deck out side facing the ocean. Some time the wait is long but worth waiting .

My wife and I love having lunch at waterfront places. I personally never expect much when it comes to the food at these places, I'm there for the waterfront easy atmosphere.

If the food is good and the price is ok, well that's just the icing on the cake.

Now that we've found it, I can say we found our icing on the cake. It's a fun place with decent food at a decent price. We've never been disappointed and when we bring our out of state friends down there, they love it...Highly recommend it!

What could be wrong with the conch? the view is to die for, the food is out of this world, the atmosphere and the service have never been lacking. We have been coming there for 16 years, and always bring/send our friends/relatives. We'll be staying in nmb this time(labor day week) but we'll still make a trip or two to the conch..

I wanted to have scallops but they weren't on the luch minue, but our waitress was able to get them for me. They were plentiful and fried to perfection. My wifes chicken salad sandwich was also weel prepared and very tasty. We have the feeling that we will be back agaib the next time we are in thge area.

We had gone online to see what reviews were on the Conch Cafe and everything seemed postive about the restaurant, so we went to try it. We have 3 children under the age of 12 and we all enjoyed it. The food was great. The only thing is they do not have a great selection for the children so we ended up having to buy our 10 year old an adult meal. The children's menu only had chicken tenders, shrimp , or flounder. Our food was delicious. We will definitely go back.

I've stayed in along the beach in the Conch Cafe' area for the past seven years and have eaten at the Conch Cafe' every time I've gone there. I always have a great meal that I thoroughly enjoy. I normally don't like scallops, but I tried them at the Conch this past weekend (7/07) and loved them!! The sampler appetizer had a DELICIOUS tri-colored pasta/shrimp salad. My steak was delicious and the atmospher and service is fun and casual and fun. Two thumbs up!

Ok, I'm going to try and be fair about this place. The pluses are it has a nice location in Garden City, right on the beach with a great porch dinning area that over looks the ocean, it has a very nice cafe apmosphere, and a really nice wait staff. I had the (much raved about) crab cakes, when they arrived they were flat as a pancake unlike any other crab cake I've ever had and the topper was that the crab was bad! It smelled like ammonia which is a classic sign the crab has turned. I informed our waitress and she promptly apologized and we re ordered the fried oysters. The oysters we good but were a little gritty. For desert they only had 3 selections which were all Sysco (food whole saler) boxed pies which which I turned down. The topper was when we were leaving the SAME waitress brought out two orders of crab cakes to other diners!! I watched the diner take a bite and make a face, they were still serving these rancid crab cakes!? For that I will never return. I was a chef years ago and I would NEVER intentionally serve a bad product as the Conch Cafe clearly did. This is a health hazard and just plain wrong. If the owner of this restaurant reads this he should really review safety and sanitation with his cooking staff.

During our first visit to Myrtle Beach in 2001, we stayed in Surfside (which is our favorite area) and came across the Conch Cafe by accident. We did not know the area well and this resturant on the beach front. Well, it was the best atmosphere & wonderful to be sitting on the outside deck eating while watching the fireworks on the beach. Now every year we come to Myrtle Beach this is first on our list to visit and eat. We wait all year to come and get the Conch Critters and your salad with the Raspberry Vinegerett is the best and have never found anything to beat it. We are coming in August and can not wait!!! We love it there!!!

My grown children and I were looking for our hotel, got hungry and saw this cafe. So, we stopped. We were seated immediately. Our server, Mary, was very attentive. She checked on us often and our food and drink was very good. When she found we were not sure of where we were staying she took the phone number of our hotel, called and gave us exact directions. She was a perfect example of customer service with compassion. Since she started our vacation with a great experience we decided to return when we were leaving. We were greated warmly by the hostess who remembered us. Mary stopped by our table to say hello and hoped we had a great stay. I wish more people took that much pride in what they do. We will be back to the Conch Cafe. Thank you.

Excellent food, excellent views from the deck and friendly and efficient service. Food was very reasonably priced for the high quality. I enjoyed everything I ordered, but my steak and scallop dinner was the best!!

I also live in the Garden City area and have been going to the Conch since the day it opened. I have lost count of how many guests I have taken there.

All I can say to the negative reviewers is that it is best they find it substandard and go elsewhere. Locals or not, nobody likes to listen to post-dinner whining.

My family and I were vacationing in Surfside and were riding about to find a place to eat when we came across the Conch Cafe. The food was excellent and the kids enjoyed their meal as well. The grilled shrimp and the prime rib was excellent and cooked to our liking. The kids ate shrimp and fish from the child's menu and it was a good size portion for the price. Our server was excellent and we never ran out of tea or water. The hostess even told us of the specials for the evening. I will recommend this place to my friends and family!

Just spent three days in Myrtle Beach. Went for a late lunch about 2:30pm on Saturday. We were a party of eight and were seated outside right away. At least three of us asked to have items on the menu changed a bit. No problem, fast service, and food was good. For a low key, non-chain place to eat outside this is a good one. Built up on stilts with a huge covered back porch that looks down at the beach and out at the ocean.

My husband and I live in the Myrtle Beach area and we go out of our way to support local businesses by avoiding the typical chain restaurants. We stumbled upon Conch Cafe and had a terrible experience. The server did not go over any specials, did not refill our drinks, and spent time talking with other employees outside of the kitchen rather than attending to what we needed. The food was very fattening and fried, there was nothing healthy on the menu. In fact, you had an extra $1.00 charge if you wanted anything grilled. The seafood did not seem local, nor did it seem very fresh (and we went on a Sat. night!). My husband and I will not return and we will not recommend this restaurant to any of our friends or out of town guests. The restaurant entrees were around $18 a each and they were all fried. The napkins were paper, the restaurant was rather dirty, bar was small, very limited wine menu and rather poor. There are many other restaurants in Myrtle Beach that are much better than this one, don't waste your money! I suggest going someplace in Murrell's Inlet for fresh seafood.

The Conch Cafe is always the first place we stop when we arrive in Garden City, and the last place we eat before heading home. We usually manage to go by for dinner at least once during the week as well. The Reuben is a personal favorite, and the seafood platter is excellent. Service is always good, and the oceanfront dining is always a treat. It can get a little loud on the outside deck at night, but that is a small complaint.

We "found" The Conch back in the 80's, when there was no roof over the outside deck, and you could walk up off the beach and get a frozen fruit bar at the window. 20+ years later we are still frequenting The Conch. No matter where we are in the area, we make sure we have at least 1 or 2 meals at The Conch. The food and service are great, and the atmosphere is the best! Nothing like sitting on the deck, wind blowing through your hair, and a drink in your hand! The best! Try the pitcher of "Conch Outs." Heaven!

Had visited many times before.. This time, September 2005, we were accompanied by a couple of seniors who wished to use the early bird menu, which we also did... not only was the food (fish) severely overcooked but when the bill came it did not add-up to the total. I question the hostess who could not ans the question but refered us back to our server.. she explained there was a $1.00 extra charge for grilling/broiling our fish vs. having it fried...she never mentioned this when odering.. she also could not explain why the dollar wasn't listed but only the total was increased by a $1.00... she was shown an ad indicating choices of how a meal could be prepared and there was NO mention of surcharges..our server failed to resolve this to anyone's satisfaction....as a result none of the four of us will return. ps, we lived practically across the street form them and would have used them numerous times were it not for this!!!

We discovered the Conch Cafe just by chance a few years ago and consider it a treasured find. The food is very good but the atmosphere is what makes the meal a real treat. There is nothing better than having a delightful dinner on a breezy porch over looking the Atlantic Ocean after a day of fun and sun. Makes one feel special and pampered.

This is our sixth year of family vacations to the Garden City/Surfside area. Conch Cafe is always a must for us, sometimes twice. As always the food, service and atmosphere is the best. Conch Cafe is a great place for the kids to enjoy also, since it sits right on the Atlantic. Try the steak oceanside for a wonderful treat or the seafood platter, the servings are plentiful. For an appetizer you must try the conch fritters. The only thing missing this trip was one of their past specials, soft shell crab. Great lunch specials too! See ya next year.

The Conch Cafe is the first and last place to eat on our vacation. The grilled shrimp and crab cake is the best I have ever had! The deck is just awesome with unobstructed views of the ocean. Seating is fast even with a party as large as our's (17+). Don't forget to try their strawberry daquiries they also are the best ever.

We absolutely love the Conch Cafe! The food has always been very good and our favorite part is eating outside on the deck overlooking the ocean. We have had both lunch and dinner here and both meals are great. Highly recommended!
