The salads we ordered never came. When we pointed it out to our waiter, he said that it wasn't his fault and then added that we couldn't have eaten it all anyway. My Mamas lasagne, which was touted as baked in a brick oven, was cold in the center. Service was very slow, drink refills took forever. Food was mediocre at best. Save your time and money and go to Umbertos.

My wife and I were part of a group of 10. We were seated promptly. My wife had ordered crab cakes as an appetizer. We are from Maryland and for the life of me why do chefs ruin crab meat by putting green and red peppers in them. Another in our party ordered them as an entre and could barely eat the. Another member ordered "the fish of the day". Only in her case the boat forgot to come in. She ordered some type of ravioli swimming in some type of white sauce. I don't think she was thrilled with it. I ordered capreese salad which was very good. I had also ordered chicken Parmesan. I've had better at Olive Garden. Two in our party ordered filets. One person got his, the other more than 20 minutes later. The steaks looked good but the kitchen was having a bad day. The prices were high. Everything was alacart and nothing was reasonable for a pasta meal. I do not think anyone in our party was overly impressed.

Went to Myrtle Beach last year in September and had planned to go to Umberto's next door for dinner. The music was started 1/2 hr early so we would stay at Castano's. Food was great and the owner was there very nice time. Going again in July 2015 will be back!

The owner & his wife patronized my computer store (The Cheap Geek) and invited me to try their restaurant. I finally found myself in North Myrtle Beach with the time to dine last Tuesday. I was not disappointed. The decor was outstanding with many small dining rooms wonderfully furnished and soft Italian crooners drifting out from hidden speakers. I've always found that when a waiter realizes your a local, you get more personable service. Indeed, we did at Castanos. We both tried a Tuesday night special of Lasagne which appeared to be made for 1, not in a big pan made for many. It was excellent. Prior to the lasagne, I tried a shrimp bisque. I stopped eating it 3 times because I didn't want it to end. Sooo good. A salad of unidentifiable lettuces and a tasty house vinaigrette completed the meal. My post meal thoughts were "Why would I ever go to some cookie cutter TGIFs or Chillis when for a few dollars more I can dine like this?" I'll be back at Castanos soon. Why don't you join me?

We had a group of 6 and visited during Restaurant Week. The waiter tried hard, but was new. The food was OK, nothing special. Prices we thought were high considering it was ala carte. $7.95 for a small salad, quite small sizes for entrees not good value.

My wife and I dined here on Valentine's Day and we enjoyed our dining experience. The filet special with lobster tail was delicious and the dessert even more so. Service from Sara was exceptional. She was charming and very knowledgeable regarding the menu items and wine list. The owners are very welcoming. When we return to Myrtle Beach, we will be sure to dine here again and we will bring our friends.
