Italian Restaurant in Myrtle Beach

Caruso's Italian Restaurant
Rated: 3.7 out of 5 with 7 Reviews

New York Genuine Italian Cuisine. The owner Deborah Caruso is Italian herself and meets with every diner to ensure the best Italian experience. The tuscany decor complimented with Volare and other traditional Italian music playing sets the mood. Weekends include realaxing tunes from the baby grand piano located in the center of the restaurant. The award-winning chef from Manhatten, Chef Sal, creates masterpieces such as eggplant parmigiana, chicken francais, veal marsala, Frutte di Mare, Ossoboco and any and every italian dish you can dream up. It doesnt end there, have a ceasar salad or bananas foster/cherries jubilee prepared tableside and fresh to order. This is truly a mouth-watering Italian Experience you cannot miss. Hours: Open 4:30 M-W 5:00 Thurs - Sat. Closed. Dine before 6pm M-W and enjoy Early Bird Specials...ask about private parties!! Ciao!!

Normally, when coming to Myrtle Beach, we tend to enjoy the seafood and BBQ restaurants... probably because where we are from (central upstate NY), there are so few places to find great seafood and/or BBQ. There are plenty of great locally owned and operated Italian restaurants, though, so we have a good basis for comparison. The "chain" (and trendy) Italian places are often a waste of time and money; "homemades" are where it's at.

We found this restaurant by accident (sort of); it was listed as "Rossini's" in some of the review sites, as well as on the (Navteq) mapping program in my Jeep's in-dash GPS system. I doubt that will be updated by Navteq any time soon. Despite this, Caruso's was easy to find.

Back to the dinner, it was excellent all the way. We reserved a table for 6:00 PM and arrived a bit early; the host served us immediately in a quiet corner area. The server (Jaime) was right on the ball at every turn, and the owner did stop by to check on our meals. The quality of the food and service was fantastic - among the best I have experienced over the past many years. We are both fussy about the sauce (the mark of any Italian restaurant) and came away very happy. Literally everything, from the appetizer (bruchetta) to the salad and the main course (Veal Marsala and Chicken Marsala), was above expectation.

This is an excellent value for the money, and I recommend Caruso's to anybody looking for some of the best Italian food in the Myrtle Beach area.

For the last two uears I have taken my entire staff for dinner at Caruso's following our annual meeting. I will do so again on Jan 4th 2008. The food and service are both great and the prices are easier on the wallet than other restaurant I've taken the team to.

Caruso's Italian Restaurant has the most amazing Italian food that I have ever tasted! It blows those chain restaurants out of the water. I had the veal parmasean and my best friend (who happens to be Mrs. Caruso's daughter) had the bananas foster prepared for us tableside. One of the best deserts I have ever tasted. I highly recommend it!

We're locals who just discovered Caruso's last week and we've already been back with the whole family. The food is excellent and it is nice to go someplace where the servers will pack up your leftovers for you (which you will have because the portions are huge) instead of the tourist-y or chain places that are more about volume than service. If you go try the Ceasar Salad-it is prepared tableside and is the best one I have ever had. We had a table of nine aged 2 to 77 and we ALL enjoyed it. Highly recommended.

Not a very enjoyable experience! We used to eat there for years but since Ross and now Gus is gone, the food has gone south and the feel of the place has changed!Convert it to a bait and tackle shop!
