We like Capt. Poohs for happy hour. You can't beat the crab leg special on Thursday nights. The bartenders are always friendly as are the waitresses. I would not order the crab cakes which heavily breaded and deep fried. Other entrees were just okay. This is more of a locals place who enjoy talking to tourists! During the summer you can sit outside (under cover) and enjoy the waterway.

Good luck getting a drink! The staff spends more time drinking than the customers and they are too busy hanging on each other to care about serving people.

I noticed that Captain Poo's is listed under the Cherry Grove section, as well. Here's my review under that section: We enjoyed a visit to Captain Poo's last summer. They were advertising $.25 wings, $.25 shrimp, and $4.99 1/2 lb of crab legs for their Thursday Happy Hour. We brought our kids and had a great meal at a great price. I can see where this is a "locals" hangout, but there were other families there with their kids. Our son (14) said that the wings were awesome! My wife and I enjoyed the shrimp and crablegs. It was a very hot day and it was warm, crowded, and loud inside, but we enjoyed ourselves. If we didn't have the kids with us, we would have gone to the outside bar. That looked like a GREAT place to be, and it was a little cooler out there. But like I said, we enjoyed the food and atmosphere and really thought the prices were great. We'll be back again this year.

The have a very well organized menu, having things such as American, Chinese (because they have noodles), Mexican (because they have nachos and cheese, this is no joke!) Sorry excuse for a bar or restaurant. The beer is ALWAYS cold, it was like that 5 years ago and it's like that now. Don't waste your time with this rat hole unless you like old, shrivled up bartenders that don't shave their pits!

We just moved to Little River, SC from upstate New York and we love Poo's. Everyone is so friendly and the atmosphere is great! It's so relaxing to watch the boats go by. We love the food and especially like the lunch specials. This is going to be a regular hang out for us.

I have been going to Poo's for several years. I have noticed lately on Tuesday nights, one person will come into the restaurant and hold a table of 8 for almost 2 hours. This happend 7//24/07 and I have noticed the same thing on previous Tuesdays. The restaurants claims there is no reserving tables but lets this continually go on. Several people came into the restaurant and tried to sit at the open chairs only to be told that this table was reserved. Two verbal arguments started and numerious people complained and left do to no available seats.

If you're looking for elegant dining, this isn't it. But if you want really good food at extremely reasonable prices, and local color to boot, this is the place for you. Kind of a biker bar, with live entertainment some nights. Outdoor eating & bar. Terrific seafood and burgers. A little hard to find, but well worth it. The bar and picinic tables overlook the intercoastal.

For something a little different on your Myrtle Beach vacation, I highly recommend Capt. Poo's Blue Marlin.

The burgers are good. The mushrooms, chicken fingers, cheese sticks, philly steak sandwich, tacos, chicken wings, anything I've had so far is really good. Prices are very reasonable. You never have to wait to be served longer than a few minutes. Sometimes the waiters and waitresses are there just when you want them, like they knew you needed them! It's casual dressing, you can even come off your boat and sit in your shorts and bathing suit top. Everyone is friendly (no matter what State your from). The age...9 to 90 depending on the time of day or night. There's plenty of outside seating and there's always a breeze from the waterway. Happy hour is terrific! The music is uplifting and everyone has to know at least one or two of the songs playing. I love this place!! We moved from New York to Little River and Capt. Pooh's is a place we love to go!!
