We found Poo's back in early 2000 and I only remembered it as the Blue Marlin. Several years ago we went back to Myrtle Beach and found it again, and we go at least 2 to 3 times the week we are down there. We love the atmosphere there and the service and food is always good. We are going back to Myrtle for the third year in a row and we will be going back too Poo's. My husband and son-in-law love the nacho's. Everything we have gotten there has been a generous portion and very good. Everyone so friendly.. See you in September!!

Wins the prize for loudest eating place in NMB. Atmosphere non-existant, but waitstaff hustles as best it can. Food is mediocre at best; noise level rivals your kids' Abercrombie store level.

Have a beach house about one mile from Poo's. My wife and I go there quite often. Food and service is always good, as are most of the entertainers inside. This is not a fancy place. Many of the patrons are locals. If you want to dress up I suggest somewhere else might be more appropriate. For fun and good food you cannot beat Poo's.

First time there. Went on Thirsty Thursday from 5-9. Ate the wings, broccoli bites and cheese and bacon fries. Tasted great! Played great music. Was a bit loud at the outside bar but quieter inside with live music. Loved it! Will definitely go back again.

You seat yourself at this restaurant, and - when the crowd isn't so big - you get good service. But when the crowd thickens, you can count on long waits for refills or your check. The food, however, is excellent and that alone is the reason we'll be returning to Capt. Poo's. I ordered a combo plate of fried shrimp and crab cakes. The shrimp was fried Calabash style and the crab cakes had lots of crab meat. Delicious. The cole slaw and french fries were also very good. My husband ordered the Philly Cheesesteak. It was juicy and tender. He got potato wedges with his meal. The serving was generous and, though the wedges were larger than any I'd ever seen, they were cooked to perfection. My son ordered the cheeseburger with potato wedges. He loved it. We ordered a basket of hushpuppies and enjoyed them as well. You do not get hushpuppies with your meal. The upside to this restaurant is there are lots of landlubber favorites, including the daily specials. While there was no seafood on the list of specials, the prices for a seafood platters are comparable to other seafood restaurants. And don't think they're going to skimp on the serving size for the daily specials. I saw plate after plate of fried pork chops get delivered to tables, and the plates were piled high with food. A great value for the money. We all cleaned our plates and vowed to return.

I was down at the Poo again this year. Talked to D S (muscian) on Thursday night. He tells me he is celebrating his twenty years at the Poo next year in June. My group and I would like to know when this willl happen. Could you let me know and we will make plans for our yearly trip around that schedule. Oh by the way had a great time there again this year. Also is your merchandise available on line?

This was our first time to Capt. Poo's but not the last. We were a group of 8 on a very busyThursday night in March. The service was excellent and the food was above excellent! The gentlemen singing was "quality entertainment"... the service was friendly and fast. NMB should be proud to have spots like Poo's.

My mother has lived in MB for years and was looking for a new joint to get good seafood with a view. After a chance glance from the bridge on the way to Little River today we decided to take a detour. How sweet it was...1pm on a Friday and the place was jumping. Turns out for a good reason, the Flounder special. We snagged a table by the water and enjoyed the food, cold beer and atmosphere. May have stumbled upon the new go-to. Good stuff!

We go to Capt Poo's regularly and always have a good time, however when we went there for the regatta on Saturday, words fail me as to how upsetting and disappointing it was. We were told the parking lot was full and directed to the boat launch.....my husband being respectful would not park where he felt was for trucks with trailors. We parked way down at the entrance of the lot. When we tried to leave instead of the two cars that the spots allowed, we were four deep and stuck there. We tried to get the cars moved along with the three other car owners also trying to leave. We were simply dismissed and told to call the local police. I am very sorry that five different people that work there all agreed. I don't feel that we will go there again if that is how much they care about their patrons.

We had fried flounder and it was the best we have ever eaten. The atmosphere was so casual we wanted to stay the rest of the afternoon...but then we might not have gotten back to our condo. We will make Captain Poos our always stop when in Myrtle Beach. Everyone was so happy..customers and employees. Prices were great. Weather was perfect for eating on the porch.

Great food, noise level was too high to be able to hear dining companions, service was below poor. Had crab legs (great) and wings (okay). Waitress pretty much ignored our table. We had to ask for check, then waited 10 minutes for her to return to take money, which she never did. We had to stand at the bar to pay, which was not a hardship, but our friends that had to sit at another table had paid and were outside waiting for us (98 degree temperature). Will go back, but will make a point to go when it is cooler so we can sit outside.

Fourth time to Myrtle Beach to play golf. Found this place purely by accident. A friend and I were around the corner staying in the Hampton Inn. We went out looking for a place to have acouple of drinks. We stayed until closing. We had a blast, and it's a good thing we could walk back to our hotel. Dusty Stanton is a terrific guitarist he can play anything.

Very disappointed in Murrells Inlet location. Words cannot describe the 'POOR SERVICE'. Gave them time to work the kinks out after formal grand opening at Capt. Poo's. Went in today May 19 2010 around 5:30 the bar was full in non smoking but there was only 2 couples eating at tables. Got no I mean no service so after 15 minutes I walked to the bar and placed my food order with the bar tender. I asked for the Thirsty Thursday special one dozen wings golden style. SOORRY HONEY THE LADY SAID NO SPECIALS DURING BIKE WEEK. Come on there was only two couples eating at tables. Still I ordered wings and drinks, ate paid and won"t return. BIKERS are here 10 days...we lived here year round. I see these people gong out of business for lack of SERVICE

My wife and I recently visited Capt. Poo's after friends told us about it. I had seen the "free fish fry" advertised for Saturday night. I can now tell you why it was "free". The fish was very greasy and and not edible. This is probably because it was sitting in a large pan on a serving table and it is no telling how how it had been sitting there. However, my wife ordered a bar-b-que sandwich which was out of this world. Our waiter, Bruce, was a most gracious host. The atmosphere and location make it well worth a visit. Just don't get the "free" fish fry. We will definitely go back the next time we are in the area.

Wonderful place to go , food specials on Tuesday and Thursday - free fish fry on Sat and some of the coldest beer on this beach! I must mention the live music at least 4 days a week! no cover charge ever and the staff is the best. The view of the ICW is amazing . Try the seafood boil, one of Poo's best kept secrets , ask for it . The seafood is always fresh and they will cook it your way. Visit with the locals and enjoy yourself

We went there because we saw awsome reviews but when we went there it wasn't as good as we thought it was good. The food was good the service was lacking that was probably because there was only one waiter. It is a local place all the local poeple go there, it is very laid back place. It is on water front area near next to a water wat so you can eat outside on inside. It isn't a place to take you're kids.

I was on a motorcycle trip with some friends and just happened to stumble across this place while in town for a couple days. We rolled in right before a thunderstorm hit to grab a quick bite to eat and ended up spending the better part of 4hrs enjoying the incredible food, wonderful staff and service, and the relaxing local atmosphere. The seafood was some of the freshest I've ever eaten. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous. Will definitely be going back any time I'm in the area

We have been to Myrtle Beach several and were looking for a new and unique dining. We chose Capt Poo's based on the reviews on this website. The food was very good. The clam chowder was excellent and the chicken philly sandwich was great. I don't think I would recommend it for a family experience since there were two bars (one inside and one outside) and they were completely full. Prices were very reasonable and we were fortunate to sit outside along the river's edge on picnic tables. The service was friendly but not real attentive. They seemed to be shorthanded and it was only 5pm. Bruce was running around like a crazy man but he was always friendly. I would go back.

Went there for lunch today (tuesday) while the kids were at the beach. We were told about the special for tonight so we are taking the kids there for inexpensive dinner. While there for lunch I had the bo burger ( a bacon cheeseburger with an egg) and loved it. Wife had the crab dip and liked that as well. Have been there before on last trip in the spring but did not have dinner. Just drinks and listened to the band. Great place with local flavor and good reasonbly priced food. Try it and you'll be back just like us!.

Captain poos is probably one of my favorite places to go with my dad who is 60, I am 19. We go with our friends who live in n. Myrtle and have a blast. On thursdays the .10 cent wings and oysters are amazing always cold beer and soda.. They enjoy having designated drivers and the music is always good. Accomodations can get tight sometimes but thats means they are doing what they do best.. Feed and entertain the patrons! hint on the happy hour.. Get there early like around 4 or 5 for decent seating. Food is always amazing the servers and bartenders are always nice and can take a joke or two. I give poos a a+++ on everything.. Love you guys! .

Captain Poo's is awesome. This is our favorite place to visit when in town. It is definetly a locals hang out, and that's what makes it great. Unlike other reviews, I've never had a problem getting a drink. The bartenders remember us year after year, and always remember that we're from New York. If you're looking for a chain restaurant and glitz and glam, don't go. If you're looking for a great locals hangout, with great drink and food prices, then this is the place for you. We love Poo's and wish we lived closer so we could go more often.

We like Capt. Poohs for happy hour. You can't beat the crab leg special on Thursday nights. The bartenders are always friendly as are the waitresses. I would not order the crab cakes which heavily breaded and deep fried. Other entrees were just okay. This is more of a locals place who enjoy talking to tourists! During the summer you can sit outside (under cover) and enjoy the waterway.

Good luck getting a drink! The staff spends more time drinking than the customers and they are too busy hanging on each other to care about serving people.

I noticed that Captain Poo's is listed under the Cherry Grove section, as well. Here's my review under that section: We enjoyed a visit to Captain Poo's last summer. They were advertising $.25 wings, $.25 shrimp, and $4.99 1/2 lb of crab legs for their Thursday Happy Hour. We brought our kids and had a great meal at a great price. I can see where this is a "locals" hangout, but there were other families there with their kids. Our son (14) said that the wings were awesome! My wife and I enjoyed the shrimp and crablegs. It was a very hot day and it was warm, crowded, and loud inside, but we enjoyed ourselves. If we didn't have the kids with us, we would have gone to the outside bar. That looked like a GREAT place to be, and it was a little cooler out there. But like I said, we enjoyed the food and atmosphere and really thought the prices were great. We'll be back again this year.

The have a very well organized menu, having things such as American, Chinese (because they have noodles), Mexican (because they have nachos and cheese, this is no joke!) Sorry excuse for a bar or restaurant. The beer is ALWAYS cold, it was like that 5 years ago and it's like that now. Don't waste your time with this rat hole unless you like old, shrivled up bartenders that don't shave their pits!

We just moved to Little River, SC from upstate New York and we love Poo's. Everyone is so friendly and the atmosphere is great! It's so relaxing to watch the boats go by. We love the food and especially like the lunch specials. This is going to be a regular hang out for us.

I have been going to Poo's for several years. I have noticed lately on Tuesday nights, one person will come into the restaurant and hold a table of 8 for almost 2 hours. This happend 7//24/07 and I have noticed the same thing on previous Tuesdays. The restaurants claims there is no reserving tables but lets this continually go on. Several people came into the restaurant and tried to sit at the open chairs only to be told that this table was reserved. Two verbal arguments started and numerious people complained and left do to no available seats.

If you're looking for elegant dining, this isn't it. But if you want really good food at extremely reasonable prices, and local color to boot, this is the place for you. Kind of a biker bar, with live entertainment some nights. Outdoor eating & bar. Terrific seafood and burgers. A little hard to find, but well worth it. The bar and picinic tables overlook the intercoastal.

For something a little different on your Myrtle Beach vacation, I highly recommend Capt. Poo's Blue Marlin.

The burgers are good. The mushrooms, chicken fingers, cheese sticks, philly steak sandwich, tacos, chicken wings, anything I've had so far is really good. Prices are very reasonable. You never have to wait to be served longer than a few minutes. Sometimes the waiters and waitresses are there just when you want them, like they knew you needed them! It's casual dressing, you can even come off your boat and sit in your shorts and bathing suit top. Everyone is friendly (no matter what State your from). The age...9 to 90 depending on the time of day or night. There's plenty of outside seating and there's always a breeze from the waterway. Happy hour is terrific! The music is uplifting and everyone has to know at least one or two of the songs playing. I love this place!! We moved from New York to Little River and Capt. Pooh's is a place we love to go!!
