We visited this restaurant for the first time about two years ago. It was excellent! We ordered the baby back ribs.We also ordered strawberry daiquaris! They were great! We were there again in January, 2008. Same order, same great food and drinks. We brought friends in August,2008. We all had ribs which were not good as before. We had the strawberry daiquaris! They were great! Well, we were all back this past weekend and so looking forward to the drinks,BUT, what we got was DISGUSTING!!! It ruined our entire meal which was not near what we had experienced before! It wasn't any fault of the waiter. He explained the new machine but with that said, don't look for us back! We like a good daiquari with good food but we got niether this night!

We went to the Surfside one. This restaurant is a favorite of my friends. I usually get the chicken strips with a loaded baked potatoe and although the dish is very good, it does tend to get old after a while. Their house salads are pretty good with the honey drizzled croissant. I ordered something different last night; the parmesan chicken. Although the creamed spinach was excellent, shredded parmesan on top is really not neccesary, the parmesan chicken was very bland. It didn't have any flavor. The marinara sauce was disappointing as well. But the real reason I wrote this comment was to preach the good word about their cheesecake. Let me attach this side note. I'm not a big fan of cheesecake because usually when it is served at restaurants it is pretty much disgusting. My friend ordered the cheesecake and I was like what the hell I know I'll hate it but I'll try it anyway. Maybe I'll be surprised. I asked the server, who was excellent by the way *ask for Sarah*, what kind of toppings they had. I was really in the mood for strawberries. And she gave me a funny look and said oh we don't have toppings; it is really good by itself. I was not convinced and I contemplated the cancellation of my order. But when she brought it out I could feel my jaw drop and my eyes get as big as saucers. The piece of cheesecake was HUGE. It is well worth the $7 or $8. And I'm telling you this cheesecake was soooo good that if someone would have told me that a little old grandma was in the back making them fresh I would have believed them in a heartbeat. It was so big I had to take it home but when I ate the rest today it was just as good as when I received it orginally.Yes, it was that good, no joke. Try it, you will not be dissapointed.

Our party of 6 decided to eat here to get something other than seafood for a variety. We ate here last year and enjoyed it and came back again (week of 8/24/08). The prime rib was excellent, the blackened chicken alfredo was really good and a very large portion, the grilled chicken was tasty, and the club sandwich was huge. The creamed spinach was disappointing as it had shredded parmesan cheese on it that was very hard. We went early and definitely missed the crowds. It was quiet. We'll go back next vacation.

My only complaint is that the menu doesn't have much variety. The side salad & croissant you get with your meal is delicious!!! I would go there just for that!

We went for an early dinner and we were very impressed. We ordered the nachos for an appetizer and then got the soup and salad combo for our dinners. The potato soup was excellent! Some of the best we've ever had. The salads were very good too. The lights were a little dim so it was a bit difficult to see, but overall a great dining experience.

I wasn't even allowed to make a reservation as I was given a before 4 o'clock or after 8 o'clock pm time frame. I called for reservations at 1 o'clock pm the day I wanted to go. I will not ever go to this restaurant since we had a party of 8 and such restrictions were placed. There are too many places to eat in myrtle beach to have to jump through these hoops!!!!

My Husband and I went for our anniversary and it was wonderful. It was a very upscale, formal yet comfortable restaurant. The food was some of the best I have ever had. We have been to a lot of nice places but this is one of the best. I highly recommend it, but be ready to pay the price for the good service and quality. Two people with dinner and a couple of alcholic beverages cost about, $70 - $100.

A good experience with some disappointing and very important shortcomings.

First, my prime rib was not hot or even warm. That is a problem. Also, there was way too much untrimmed fat surrounding the meat portion of the prime rib cut, and the amount of meat was disappointingly small in proportion to fat. I also have a complaint about the creamed spinach. It was good, but why must it have melted cheese in it? Folks, is it so important that every dish and every item have as much fat content as possible? The spinach would have been way better without a moltem mass of parmesan cheese in it. My wife's baked potato had the same problem -- too much cheese!! In fact, I think her potato had butter, sour cream and two types of cheese on it. Are these restaurants owned by a cabal of cardiologists, or what? Get hip, restaurant owners!! A growing body of the populace is sick and tired of assaulting their coronary arteries with this onslaught of fat and cholesterol..

The coffee was too strong, though acceptable for restaurant fare. The dessert selection was very limited -- only about four items. On the other hand, the liquor, mixed and tropical drink selection is vast..

I would go to California Dreaming again. All in all, I think it's quite a good place. I'll order differently next time, and please trim some of the fat off the prime rib!

We ate at the new location in North Myrtle Beach near Colonial Mall. It just opened about a week or two ago. The waitress was excellent, very attentative to our every need and made sure we were totally satisfied. The food was fantastic. I had a southwwestern shrimp on a spinach wrap. The portion was great, the size of the shrimp were nice, and the flavor was fantastic! A great lunch for 8-10.00 per person. They had an outside area which may be hot in the middle of summer but it was very enjoyable the day we went.
