I waited quite some time before venturing to Cagney's. I had heard that it was a bit pricey. Outrageous would be more like it. The service left a great deal to be desired and the wait for food was unforgivable. I enjoy good food and do not mind paying for atmosphere, service or food. It was dark, uninviting and the food at McDonald's is better. The filet was overcooked and cold. I will not be going back.

I took my Mother in law out for her birthday last July, there were six of us. I was not impressed, the place does not look upscale as promoted. The food was avarage and very overpriced. We will be back in Myrtle Beach again in July and we will not go to Cagney's.

The food is wonderful. We go everytime we are at the Myrtle Beach with friends which is about twice a year. My favorite is the flounder - makes your mouth water. The blackened prime rib is also phenonemal. Strongly suggest going and trying it out.

This is the best prime rib you will get, anywhere! The reviews on here that say it is bad; those are the people that can't have anything right, anywhere. Do not believe that, everything was outstanding. My girlfriend and myself split the 24 ounce prime rib, ($24)we got around half-way done, took the rest back and made another meal. The owner and manager made their way around and one of the two greeted the customers, were very personable and polite. Like I said earlier the 'bad' reviewers are those kind of people. If that statement offends you, guess what, your 'that kind' of a person.

Had been going to Cagney's since they opened back in the 70's. It was always a definite every trip to the beach. When we went this year, we were very disappointed that they had changed their menu. I had only ordered 1 thing every time I had been there - the seafood coquille, which was absolutely fantastic. I was so disappointed they no longer served it. My son and husband were not as impressed with the menu or their food as they used to be either. Cagney's used to be a fun place to go, even though it was a little pricey. They even used to have "directions" on the table for how to properly eat their french onion soup! It was our "special" night out. I hate to say that we will probably never go back because it has changed.

This place has gone down hill, have been eating here every year on vacation since 2004. Besides the prime rib , the portions are very small for the money, quality is good though. There ar alot better places out there to eat for your money. Atmosphere is great for all. Have never waited to be seated. Will eat here again, but it just isnt what it was before..

We ate at Cagney's for the first time September 2006 and are returning to MB next month. Although I think its pricey, the food was really good. The waiter was off that night, so we didn't tip him as high as we normally would-that is what the tip is about-showing your level of gratuity toward the service you received. We were planning on returning to Cagney's, but now I am concerned that the place had changed for the worse. :- (

A favorite of ours for years - and we have tried many restaurants over the past 30 years at Myrtle. Have never been disapointed with the food but sometimes the service. Had some wait time on last visit but had excellent bartender (rarely visit a bar). We both had lobster tail and turf - both prepared nicely. Will certainly be back.

Very nice ambiance. Very disappointed since this is The Flamingo Grill's sister restaurant, we expected a great meal. However, the food was poor - the steak was very tough. Amazed that this restaurant is in anyway affiliated with the Flamingo Grill, which I would highly recommend

I recently went to cagneys and I was very pleased with everything. It took us maybe 10 minutes to be seated. We received a nice seat (not one of those seats next to the bathroom) and our waitress took our orders quickly and our wait for the food was not long at all. The ambiance of the restaurant is very beautiful and the prices were very good for what you get. My family and I will definetly be back.

We are once again in Myrtle Beach for the 4th of July week, and are once again going to this outstanding restaurant. If you are looking for a great place for prime rib, steaks, and seafood this is your place to go.Everything from bread, salads, and main dish was outstanding.

Four of us went to eat at Cagney's towards the end of last summer. The atmosphere was not quite what we expected. The place is nice but we had always been told that it was a really nice, higher end place to eat. The four were suprised at how many kids were there. That wasn't necessarily a bad thing, we just expected different. The service was average and the food tasted ok at first. To make a long story short, 3 out of the 4 of us (all 3 of us ate the she crab soup), got food poisoning. After the hospital visit and $1200 later, I called the manager and asked for the owner to call me back in regards to a food poisoning incedent. I told the mgr. the situation and that I am a local business owner and I would personally like to speak with the owner to let him know how disappointed I was for starters and secondly to make him aware that he may have some bad she crab soup on hand being served to patrons that he may want to dispose of. The owner had the manager call me back and say that his soup was not bad and that he wouldn't be calling me back. What a way to run a business. We ended up telling everyone we know about the incedent in hopes that people will think twice before giving the owners of Cagney's their money due to what happened to us and the inconsideration of the owner himself.

This is our first time to try this restaurant. We picked it out in part because of descriptions here. We called ahead for seating and were given a time. As it is a little early in the season it really wasn't necessary. We were seated immediately. Service was good. Both my wife and I ordered prime rib. Both were cooked exactly as ordered. The salad was good as were the rolls. They serve a sort of twice baked potato (I forget the exact name they called it). It was very good. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We went here for a special anniversary dinner. We were rushed through our meal. Even though there were only 2 of us and they weren't very busy, they seated us at a table for 6. The salad was average and the steaks we ordered were overdone. We had high hopes of finding a new restaurant to frequent, but we will not return here.

Salad was limp, like it was pre-made and stored for a day in the fridge. My wife would not eat hers. Steak was okay, bread was almost stale. Meal was way over priced by normal standards but Myrtle Beach restaurants are overpriced for the most part. Needed ear protection because of the very loud patrons. Could not hear my wife (I'm not hard of hearing) unless she yelled, like all the other patrons. Service was so-so. Overall, was a bad dining experience. Meal was not worth the money and was not fun. Local advertising promises much more than the restaurant delivers. We will never visit again. Beware of obivous fake "excellent" reviews for this restaurant.

Cagney's is an outstanding restaurant. I remember the first time I contemplated going there, I had just watched a review of it on BeachTV. The attention to detail here is exceptional, and the food is superb. The owners here have done a great job of maintaining consistency, which is very important. The prime rib and lobster is what I usually have, and it has always been fabulous. Lovely atmosphere.

This was my second time at Cagneys and I won't be going back, Very poor service. Twelve guys spent $600.00 on dinner and we left un-satisfied. Zero management response to our concerns about improperly cooked food and just slow/bad service. The waitress even blamed us for the slow servcie because we ordered escargo. We will choose another place to eat dinner next year.

My prime rib was gristle and not even edible. I pointed this out, they brought out another very small bad cut again and ignored me completely. I will never go back. They seated me next to a large family of out of control kids screaming to the top of their lungs, knowing the situation ahead of time. Thanks for nothing guys... horrible experience.

My husband and I had heard good things about Cagney's and after years finally decided to check it out. I got the prime rib and lobster tail and was not impressed. The prime rib was cooked as ordered, but was nothing special. My husband had surf and turf special, and again, wasn't overly impressed. The service was good and the food was okay, but not the great experience we were told we would have.

We went here for our anniversary because of the ratings and ads for prime rib. I ordered a Cagney signature fish dish. It was so loaded with cheese that I couldn't taste the fish. My husband got their prime rib and it was tough and full of fat. Not at all what we expected. We won't make any attempts to go back.

My husband and I ate there last night based on the prior reviews. We were disappointed! I ordered prime rib and found it very bland. I used to work in a restaurant that served excellent prime rib and believe me this was not even in the ballpark. They served it with the au jus poured over the prime rib so I was afraid the entire time that I would get it on me while cutting the meat.

My husband got a New York Strip that was overcooked and not a very good cut. The potato was ok but again not great.

To top off the night our service was lousy. The waiter didn't keep our beverages filled nor was he very attentive. They leave serving trays set up around the restaurant which makes you feel like you are in a diner.

Best in MB!!! This is the first and last restaurant we go to when we are down. My husband swears by this place and has recommended it to many others who he knows will be visiting Myrtle Beach.

The "Steak Oscar" is SUPURB and their mixed drinks are excellent. Aside from the beach bar at our resort, this is the best place to get Long Island Iced Teas. My son-in-law stole everybody's twice-baked potatoes. Quite a tussle at the table. A really fun place.

Very touristy. The caesar salad was warm and limp; the steak Oscar was cooked to our preference but was somewhat bland; the rib eye was an uneven cut and, therefore, was not cooked properly; the prime rib was also average. The lack of choice for sides added to the poor rating. I would not race back to Cagney's. Not bad, but certainly not worth $140 for three people. Kelly was our server and she more than made up for the food.
