If you are looking for elegant dining and candlelight don't go. This is a rustic dining place. That being said - we loved it! There are 3 kids, 11, 10 and 4, with us. We didn't have to be on pins and needles worrying if they were too loud (actually well behaved during dinner). Food was good and reasonably priced. I think this will be a "must go" when we come back again. Waitress was very friendly. Just as the 11 yr old asked when the food was coming there it was (about 10 min).

This place is so great. We only go to Myrtle once a year, and this is the ONLY place we eat at twice. Best oysters anywhere and fried pickles and green tomatoes are to die for. Great service inside or out on the deck. Sure the place is "rustic" but in no way dangerous. In fact, one of the cleanest places we dine in. If it wasn't they wouldnt have an "A" rating from MB health department on the front door. Give them a try, I doubt if you will be disappointed unless you go expecting a 5 star dining experience. If you want that, go to Ruth Cris steak house and spend a couple hundred dollars. Lighten up people, remember its a vacation.

the only excellent mark was far length of time to be served. Should tell you something, Noisy--poorly maintained building-fan sounded like it was about to blow up. Would be scared to eat there. Have eaten there before and food is so so and overpriced, but the view is nice. Will probably not be back, expected better maintained building from the Devine Group. Most of their buildings are not too scary to enter.

Loved Bubba's. Stayed at Surfside Beach and wanted to stay away from franchise restaurants. Bubba's is authentic. Service is great. Food was fresh and outstanding. Will certainly return there next year.

Can't say enough good things about Bubba's. Great place, great service and great food. We only get the fried green tomatoes and the oyster basket, but thats all you need. In the summer, sit on the deck and enjoy the ocean just across the street. Absolutely yummy. Please check it out.

I hate oysters, but once a year I MUST have fried oysters from Bubba's. They are perfectly fried on the outside and buttery on the inside. My husband loves the catfish. Great hushpuppies too. Gotta love a place I can feed my family of 5 for less than $60 including tip (and have enough leftovers for lunch the next day.

What a great place off of the beaten path! The hubby and I wanted fish, but not one of those awful all-you-can-eat places. Well, this was it! Granted we were there early, 4:00 PM, so we beat the dinner crowd, but I'm sure even then the atmosphere would be excellent. We had the Fried Green Tomato Appetizer. I had the Grouper Basket and my husband had the Flounder Platter. The service and food was wonderful. We each had two PBR's! The total without tax or tip was $32.89. If you're in the are be sure to check this place out. It can't be beat!

This is the 2nd time we've eaten here. We had BBQ the first time and it was GREAT !!! Today, my husband had it and said it seems a bit mushy but still had a good flavor. I had the Flouder Basket and it was delicious. For the money, I think the prices are pretty good. Going out to eat isn't cheap these days so the value here is good. Actually, no complaints. The waitresses both times have been really friendly and gave good service!

Not impressed. Waited 1 hour to be seated. Hostess was not friendly and waitress the same. I got the impression the staff was overworked, underpaid and not appreciated. They did not look happy. Add to that paper cup, paper towels for napkins, plastic forks so flimsy you cannot cut fish with them and no knives, plastic or otherwise. Filled our drinks once and we were all emplty by the time we were half way through our meal and no waitress in sight. Food was ok but no way sensational. I would not return again.

This is a great place for a casual meal without all the fuss of getting dressed up while at the beach. The food is as delicious as any Murrel's Inlet seafood restaurant and the price is much less. We had a precious waitress named Lori that took care of our every need. I highly recommend Bubba's.

Had lunch...shrimp po boy and fried grouper basket. Po boy shrimp were popcorn shrimp, but plentiful. Cole slaw had an unusual taste..not my favorite. Husband's grouper was good. the best part of thsi restaurant is the decor. Lots of fishing memorabilia hanging from ceiling and on walls.Neat ceiling fans connected by a belt. Waitress friendly. Mostly fried food. Sweet tea good.

We just got back from Myrtle Beach and ate at Bubba's 4 out of the 9 nights we went out to dinner. The food is good and a great deal for the price. My husband loves the oysters and I love the boiled spiced shrimp and the catfish. The staff is friendly and it is a fun and comfortable atmosphere!

One of the best restaurants for sea food that I have ever dined in at the beach. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, (especially the grouper fingers). My son loves the place. We ate there three times in 2009, while there for the week. Will definately go back this year. My son talks about it constantly.

we are yearly visitors to myrtle beach and we have to go to bubba's while we are there. we stay in the area there so it is easy to just stop in for the famous pickle nickles!!!! we have order the clam strips basket, the bubba burger (its is alot of food), and the poor white trash salad is wonderful. i could just go on about how wonderful the food is, the waitress are very friendly and the service is great also. if you haven't been you really need to try it you will be hooked just like us!

read reviews online thought it would be a nice place to eat!!! WRONG - wanted to order fuzzy navel peach schnapps not available or an alternate, wanted to order whole belly clams not available just strips. french fries were of the frozen grocery store variety eg :(food lion, piggly wiggly) and not cooked enough. would not recommend this to friends or family. music was not of easy listening (c&w) waitress was not friendly or knowledgeable

My husband and I went on the advice of a friend and we loved it, I had the Shrimp Basket which was great, the shrimp was tender and not real crunchy, the hushpuppies were sweet and light, the coleslaw was crunchy with just the right spices, My husband had the Flounder Basket and he is not a big fish eater, but he raved about how good it was, we will go back on out next vacation, and may stay at Surfside Beach instead of Myrtle Beach. The only thing was the amount of space that they have, they need more room to seat everyone.

The fried oysters and shrimp were delicious! The boiled shrimp was excellent! Just wish there were other options for boiled, broiled, or sauteed! This is the 3rd year in a row we have eaten there and love it! Kind of rustic but definitely fun. It was the loudest restaurant we went to but our group of 10 enjoyed the food and atmosphere last week (08/24/08).

Bubbas was a place we tried a few years ago when it opened.. The bartenders have been friendly and quick to serve and the first time we had the fired pickle nickels was the bomb. Very family and kid friendly.. I would like to see them expand their menu a bit, but overall a great place.. We go back every year and even if we just stop in for a beer or two(or three : ) we have a great time.

This food is by far one of the best places we visited down here in South Carolina. We are from New York and don't eat seafood that much but the seafood here was great!!! The service is also remarkable, they are very friendly and fast. A local place near where we stay that we would definitely come back to and reccommend to anyone!
