Review: Thank you Brentwood staff for making our ladies golf group end of year banquet a major success. Paul our waiter was so pleasant; as was all of the staff, and we didn't want for anything! Chef Eric your menu was so wonderful, with a nice blend of flavors, and made with a lot of love!
Thank You,

Review: Excellent food! Service is also outstanding. It is pricey, so be prepared. Far and away the tastiest food of our one week vacation. Get the escargot appetizer! WOW! This is a large older house converted into a restaurant. The mark downs to above average on atmosphere and noise level are actually because it is too quiet when you are in a room by yourself, and some in our large party felt they had to be quiet in there rather than relax and have a good time. Not the intent of the restaurant at all, but we were the first in a room. We came at 5:30 for the early bird specials, since we were paying for 10. While most restaurants get marked down on this site for too much noise, you actually need some noise in a restaurant so you don't feel self-concious. When some other guests were finally seated in our room the volume kicked up to a comfortable level. Fabulous food and service. My wife and I came here last year for a "date night" and liked it so well we took the whole vacation gang this time - it did not disappoint. The early bird specials were $15 each and included a small appetizer, salad, entree and small dessert. That made it affordable for our large party, but with the tax and tip, it was over $20 each, and that with drinking only water. They do add 20% gratutity for a large party (more than the customary 15 - 18% normally added on large groups) however, the service was so good I would have given 20% anyway. Highly reccomended.

Review: We went to the Brentwood Restaurant while on vacation in Myrtle Beach this Spring. Finally the Grand Strand has a French Restaurant. The owner told us he was slowly making the transition to French while keeping current customers sastified with the menu they were used to. I started off with escargot, OMG! Too die for, he broils them with a butterand garlic mixture then adds Pernod and sprinkles bread crumbs. I have not had them that good since my trip to Paris. My hubby got the fried green tomatoes layed with goat cheese and a red pepper sauce. A very nice French twist to a southern classic. Then we took the servers advice and ordered the poached pear in wine and crumbly blue cheese on our salad. I will never have a plain salad at the Brentwood again. It was surprisingly delicious. I had the rack of Lamb au Pistache half rack and it lived up to my expectations of being very tasty and delicious. My hubby got the Veal Chop Forestiere, OMG! The mushroom risotto was amazing, not to mention the veal chop was tender and tastier than filet mignon. We enjoyed our dinner with a nice bottle Chateau Fourcas Dupre, Medoc from Bordeaux. The wine list very impressive for the area. The list has many nice wines at very reasonable prices. The atmosphere and service just complimented our meal. Sorry, for dessert I had Grand Marnier, I just couldn't eat another bite. I will have to go back for dessert. I highly recommend the Brentwood. Kudos to the new owners.

Review: The Brentwood is by far the best restaurant in Myrtle Beach:
The atmosphere, the service, the food….the food!!!
I started with the lobster risotto, the crab incrusted grouper and the Crème Brulée for dessert, absolutely delicious.
My husband had the escargot (the best one he ever had, he said), the pistachio encrusted rack of lamb and the chocolate soufflé with raspberry sorbet.
The wine list is also very impressive with a great selection under $30.
We love what the new owners have done with the place and the live Jazz upstairs.
A “must visit” if you are in the area or if you have not been there for a while.
We will be back!!!

Review: We are from Cincinnati, Ohio visiting a friend that lives here and they both wanted to go to this restauant. So not only was this the first time for us it was the first time for them. I will quantee that they will be back and if we come back we will too.
Great wine selection too!
The service and the food was excellent!!! I was really nice meeting the chef/owner it put a special touch to a great evening :)
I even tried to get the chef to give me his recipe for his rack of lamb but no doing. That was the only thing I wish I could have gotten.

Review: I went in for dinner and ordered the prime rib which was pretty pricey. The owner came out and introduced himself, very friendly and very cordial. I received hot bread and butter along with an olive paste and bread crackers. The olive taste was too overwhelming for me, but a great attempt to offer a different pre meal warmup.
There were only two of us dining by ourselves and our waitress disappeared for minutes at a time. She did seem a little off, but to her defense, there was a huge party in the next room.
The salad had all fresh ingredients and pepper was added to it as I watched. Fresh, good and the dressing just right to tickle your taste buds. Fresh greens, carrots and it was not overdone with too many fillers. Excellent...
My main course came. the mashed potatoes were prepared perfectly. Lightly whipped with that same home cooking taste. The vegetable seared again perfectly and was delicious.
The cabernet, I accompanied my meal with was the establishments own from California. It had a vivid and strong taste of all the wonderful things that excite your taste buds. Soft to drink and served slightly chilled. Great wine....
The prime rib was disappointing. Served with au jus, the meat was cold in the center and not heated properly. The outside (I ordered it medium rare) was warm with alot of fat. The middle was just plain cold. It was obvious that the prime rib was pulled from the fridge and heated. For the price charged, it was the only reason why I dropped the rating of the food served. Had it been served fresh and piping hot, like my other portions, I would not of complained. I expect any establishment which offers prime rib, to serve it right off the bone. This was not. My suggestion would be drop the price and properly prepare the meat.
For the price and the atmosphere, I expected my meal to be served the same way. The waitress, apologized profusely, took back the prime rib and had it heated. I then thought the owner might come back and apologize for the inconvenience, but he was nowhere to be found. I also got the check for the full amount of the meal with no discount and or gift certificate to try my dining experience again.

Review: Is the previous owner cooking somewhere? The menu is not that much different but a level down. The veal dish had an oily brown gravy accompanied by a small half scoop of mashed potatoes and blah mixed vegetables. The scallops and crab ravioli for $28 was irritating. Three small scallops, four pieces of asparagus,an unappetizing sauce, and to finish, ravioli we figure stuffed with average deviled crab. The salad has lost the uniqueness. This restaurant was our favorite place. Darn!

Review: Our dinner at The Brentwood was just OK. The service we received was what you would expect from a dennys, the waitress never introduced her self, just came to the table to take our order, it wasnt even busy! the hostess took our drink and appetizer order.I ordered the 12oz NY Strip and my husband had the 10oz prime rib, both looked under the advertised weights, each came w/ an ice cream scoop of mashed potatoe and sauteed squash...with those prices i would expect a nice thick flavor full steak and a heap of spuds..the salad that came w/ the meal was just ok. I would never eat here again, if you want great food go to MARTINI's in north myrtle beach, now thats what i'm talkin 'bout, i guess being orginially from NY i am a tough critic and expect good food especially when they are charging you top dollar!

Review: 1. There was no greeter when we arrived and stood there reading the menu for several minutes before anyone happened by.
2. The restaurant filled rooms, one at a time, so our small room filled up with one large group of loud guests.
3. As one of the first guests to the restaurant that evening, we still had to wait a loooong time between settings.
4. Finished plates were left on the table even after asking the server to remove them.
Food good, service poor-it's your choice.

Review: Our family eats at the Brentwood every time we vacation in Myrtle Beach and it's by far our favorite restaurant; sometimes we even go twice in one week. The Steak au Poivre is the best on the beach! Crabcakes and fried green tomato appetizers are our favorites. The dessert is always a toss up between the key lime pie and lemon coconut cake. Everything is fabulous and we've never had to wait because we always call ahead to get reservations. We'll be back in August and September this year!

Review: This restaurant is a class act. It is an oasis in the middle of a busy, noisy area. I consider it a truly special place to dine, and we have never been disappointed. In any restaurant at this area of the beach, you run the risk of being seated near drinking golfers and crude people who forget their manners while on vacation, but this restaurant is a cut above so people seem to act their best. I hope that never changes.

Review: This place is our new favorite on the Grand Strand. Try the escargot appetizer...it will make your toes curl. I had the chef's special, filet and lobster with a dijon mustard and brandy cream sauce. I never wanted to leave. Our server was extremely nice and actually gave us a tour of the old house (with even a peek into the kitchen). Tell all your friends to bring their appetites and their wallets to the Brentwood. It is a little pricey, but no worse than any of the other upscale restaurants we've tried in the area. You'll love it.

Review: We love the atmosphere of this restaurant. Actually, just moving here, we anticipated our dinner. Awful! We ordered the crab cake appetizer that was full of shells. The noise from the table next to us was crude so we had to take our dessert to go. We will never go back.

Review: Our family ate here again tonight and loved it! The service was excellent, the lobster I had was excellent, the kids loved the pork chops they ordered, and the fresh homemade chili was great! There are places that are truly great dining experiences, and this place is one of them.

Review: This quaint home-like restaurant has some of the best food in the area. From the warm greeting when we first entered the restaurant to the relaxed atmosphere in the upstairs dining area, this restaurant is something that you absolutely must expierence. It felt like I was visiting my Grandmothers home for dinner. I had the NY Strip, grilled to prefection.. Then I topped the night with Key Lime pie for dessert. Everything perfect. A total thumbs up!

Review: Brentwood is truly a gem of a restaurant.
Starting with the homemade humus served as soon as we were seated, to the excellent selection of wines, to the top of the line fillets offered, this place is a favorite of our family's. We ate there again tonight; I ordered the 10oz lobster & 8 oz fillet (they threw in a bearnaise dipping sauce, as a courtesy, which was scrumptious) and with the freshest salad and most unique mashed potatoes, this meal was to die for!
We'll be back again very very soon :)

Review: This was absolutely a Grade A restaurant. I loved the atmosphere and the food was far above average. What i liked the most was the fact that the building itself used to be a old house, and nothing much was changed inside or outside, and i liked that...a good home bound feeling. I myself had a monster 12 oz. New York Strip and mashed potatoes. The steak was extremly tasty and juicy. The potatoes were like nothing else I've ever tasted. I didnt know mashed potatoes could be so mouth watering before. They were full of spices which added to the already incredible flavor. I will definintely be going back to Brentwood VERY soon.
