We were half of the patrons in the restaurant - so it was easy to be seated and served and very quiet. Having said that, the food was wonderful, our waiter, Tim, was superb, and it was a place we hope to go back to. The prices were a little high, but we were celebrating and did not object. It was a great meal. December is a great time to visit Bovines.

We came to the inlet for the christmas lights on the marshwalk which were beautiful. Our server Tim took wonderful care of our table which included a very picky eight year who by the end of the meal ate almost all of his pizza (wood burning oven even). My husband and I had the mixed grill which was an array of chicken, salmon and shrimp which were cooked to perfection. The scallion and cheese potato cake was wonderful since i have never heard of this before. Everyone was no nice there that they made you feel like family. We even got asked to sign the guest book for their upcoming VIP party after they remodel and change up the menu (Tim informed us to stop by the host desk and sign the book since we are local). I am looking forward to seeing what Bovines has to offer when they are done.

If you look back to my review on 3/25/08, you might have guessed that I would not return to Bovine's. Well, I did based on an ex-employee's recommendations. I was told I HAD to try the tenderloin tornadoes and parmesan crusted grouper. Trusting the review, I took a date (I know, brave) and off we went. She was right! They were phenomenal. For these two dishes, I will certainly return.

That said, I still think the menu is overpriced. I can spend that or less at an actual fine dining establishment. Also, again, the service was a huge turn-off from the hostess, to the bartender, all the way to our waiter. I made reservations for the two of us at 7:00. We arrived 10 minutes early to have a drink at the bar. We were taken to our table sometime after 8:00. So much for reservations. I read from another review that the bartender acted like he was doing you a favor by getting you a drink. I certainly saw that first hand. He had an air of condescension that was unbearable. I wanted so badly to remind him that he was a bald 40 year old bartender, but remembering back to my days of slinging drinks, I decided to keep my mouth shut and not be a jerk in front of my date. She was a pretty good sport about it all until our server approached our table...DRENCHED IN SWEAT! He seemed frantic and kept wiping his forehead on his sleeve and the towel hanging from his pocket. It was pretty disgusting. She took most of hers in a to go box, because she lost her appetite.

So, either those two meals are fantastic, or we drank just enough booze to not care. Now, the trick is to return in the winter so we don't have to wait and can get a sober assessment. Judge for yourself.

My husband and I went to celebrate our 3rd anniversary. We made reservations that same day, we arrived a little ealry and they had our table all set. Amanda, our server, was on the ball with drink refills and was very friendly. The food was great. Its a pricey resturant but for the amount of food you receive its well worth it. Highly recommended. Great food, great view, great service!

Way too expensive for the portions and quality of food served. I ordered the catch of the day, Halibut and it wasn't even as big as my hand. The blackening seasoning was nothing to write home about. My guests shrimp pasta was not the value that was served. I do have to say the wood fired pizza for the kids was pretty good. Dinner salads were way too small and having forgotten to ask for dressing on the side, was drenched in dressing. Salad contained romaine, a few cuc's on the side and that was it. No croutons, onions, tomatoes, cheese etc.

We've eaten along the Murrell's Inlet row in the past, but never here, although I have heard good things. So with no reservations, we showed up around 7:30 this evening. We waited outside for about 30 minutes for a seat, which was a booth right on the waterfront, and WELL worth the wait. Patrick was a SUPERB waiter with the right answer for our kids' weird requests for dinner - and "no" was not in his vocabulary, which was very refreshing! I had the 7 pepper tuna which was rare and spicy - highly recommended! My wife had the filet, which was cooked perfectly at medium. Overall value? An A+ in my book, plus AAA cardholders get 10% off. Great views, seating, food and great staff make for a great dining experience - and ask for Patrick!

Being our 1st visit to Myrtle Beach, we searched for restaurants. Bovines was wonderfully relaxed after a day of golf. The food was excellent and our server, Patrick, was remarkably helpful. Being on the coast, we chose seafood dinners which were outstanding both in preparation and size. Their corn pudding was deliciously unique and we would love to have their recipe! Bovines has something for the entire family.

Having tried all of the other "marsh walk" eateries I finally decided to try bovines. Well much to my dismay I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the food. My guest ordered the taco pizza which was very cold. The cheese wasn't even melted and the crust was cold and doughy. I opted for the n.y. Strip rare w/ loaded baked potato and steamed veggies. The potato was very cold, the butter wasn't melted, nor was the cheese, and the bacon was cold. The veggies were also very cold. The steak was cooked to perfection temp wise, but had all too much fat and grissle on the sides, not to mention all too much salt/seasonings on the top. They advertise fire grilled----don't believe it. If you fire grill the outside should be crispy, not with "broil" marks.

We had a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and worked as quickly as the could with the volume presented. With reservations there was no wait. Mixed drinks were some of the best! All three dishes we ordered were wonderful and there was plenty of food for all. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and the best we've been to thus far.

Well in order to give an accurate review we must start with our very first encounter with the staff, the hostess!!! We were a party of four arriving at the restaurant at or around 5:30 pm on myrtle beaches annual bike festival, May 23rd. The hostess was was very pleasant and accommodating and we were seated immediately on a window seat overlooking the marsh. Amanda, our server, was on her first night working at bovines and she knew everything she was expected to know...she knew the specials and exactly what beers were on draft...she promptly took our drink orders and we ordered the fried calamari and lump crab with jalepeno cornbread which was absolutly delicious. Our entrees came and I had the 20 oz cowboy ribeye, my wife had the southwestern salmon, and my two other friends ordered the 10 oz primes...delicious especially the corn pudding...a little pricey but well worth it. Will definitly come again

We go to Bovines every year while vacationing. I think the steak is fantastic, the pizza is absolutely fabulous, and the kids actually ate. I think they could improve the selection of desserts, and unless you make reservations, you can wait. We have some very picky eaters with us, and even they enjoy it!

We went at night during the summer and the restaurant was empty. That was the foreshadowing of what happens next. They gave us a window seat overlooking the swamp, I mean the inlet, I wasn't impressed at all. I felt at any moment a convict from the local correctional facility was gonna sail past our window seat in his canoe. It was to strange for me. Our waitress was super slow and the food was overpriced. The portions were small but the food was O.K. I had the surf and turf. My steak tasted like a nerf football. That is poor quality for a filet mignon steak cooked medium don't you think? It wasn't filet mignon, no way. The lobster tail was good and house salad was great. I have heard such good things about this place but my experience was unpleasant. I am wondering if I should give it another shot....

I love great food. I am also a very good cook and grew up in the restaurant business. The main way I grade a restaurant is if I could do the same dish at home and do it better than the restaurant. If I can then I'm usually pretty disappointed. In this case the food was excellent!! I left there very satisfied and definitely stuffed. Even though it was a little expensive our dinners were worth the price paid. We have found a place that we will come back to time and time again!!

Will never dine at bovine's again. Visit myrtle beach three times a year for the past twenty. First experience here was phenomenal, excellent food, fantastic service. Last time it was as if I were an alien. Service was horrible, the staff behind the bar made me feel totally unwelcome, as if they were doing me a favor by serving me a drink. The food was o.k. - average, at best...can't even describe all the details, simply put, I will tell everyone I know never to dine there.

Disappointing. After reading all the positive reviews I was really excited about a good steak dinner. We started with calamari, the chilpote cream sauce was unusual but the calamari itself was tiny pieces and mostly batter. The "mixed greens" salad was actually just romaine with a slice of roma tomato and two slices of cucumber with a bit of red onion. The house bread was ok, a white round loaf. We both ordered the steak special of the day, bacon wrapped sirloin with some kind of sauce. Mine was raw instead of medium rare. The sauce (was so overpowering, and such a thick coating that it took me a few bites to realize how undercooked the steak and bacon were. I ended up bringing most of it with me, and if I can wash the sauce off, I may cook and eat it. The sides were pretty basic. Vegetable medly that you've had in a dozen other places. Mashed red potatoes and some corn pudding, which was advertised as their specialty, and apparently included with all orders. We ended up with a server who seemed very new and uncomfortable with his job. It made the whole meal even more unpleasant. We were polite when we pointed out how undercooked my steak was. He said they had a new cook and this had happened several times that night. (the people behind us had the same problem with one of their meals.) The waiter made noises about sending a manager over but it never happened. Husband said that manager twice looked over in our direction but didn't come over. That defies explination and doesn't sit well with me. We won't return. Our bill for two steak dinners, an appetiser and iced tea was over $80. Way too much for what we got, especially considering that the entre was inedible as served.

On a recent visit to Bovines four burley Irish men were highly impressed by the service and quality of foods served to us. All four of us had eaten in many other establishments in the MB area but Bovines were head and tails above the rest. We would highly recommend Bovines to antone who is looking for a great dining experience at an affordable price. We each had a different dish on the day but no one had a complaint about the food or service. 10 out of 10.

I don't see what all the fuss is about. our waitress seemed to be Bovines biggest fan. she recommended filet minion with crabmeat and it was okay. the quality of the food was no where near what I was charged on my bill. I heard from locals that this restaurant was a diamond in the rough for Murrells inlet if your tired of the seafood thing they do down there, but I'm not planning on going back. our waitress was obnoxious and our food was just okay. if I'm going to spend 60 bucks for 2 people I want to have something above average.

I read the reviews of Bovines before our trip to Murrells Inlet hoping to find a really nice restaurant with excellent food. Bovines is both of those things. We are from L.I New York and we stayed the week of March 10th - 14th. We were so impressed with Bovines that we went back a second time and brought my Mother in Law. Each time we had a table at the window and we could look out over the water. The waiter was excellent our first stop, he was a pleasant, attentive young man, I wish I could remember his name. On our second visit we had a nice young lady who let us know that she was training a new waiter, she always had a smile. The trainee was understandably nervous, but he did a great job with a little coaxing from his trainer. We enjoyed every minute at Bovines. The food is to die for, the blackened shrimp, chicken and salmon combo was excellent. Pork tenderloins were delicious, the corn pudding is out of this world, I made sure to get the recipe before I left ,which they have at the front desk ready for all who would like it. The service is outstanding, and if we were lucky enough to live in the area it would be a regular place for us. Can't wait to go back.

We are locals and have not been to Bovine's in a while due to a bad time there last time. We have recently heard that this restaurant has new management so we decided to try again. What a differance from last time. Our server Tiffany was great and so kind with a big smile. Our food was excellant my husband ordered the cowboy chop and it was more than he could eat. Danielle the manager came by to make sure that everything was good for us. We will defiantly be back again soon. Glad we gave this place a second try.

I had 5 of my girlfriends down at the beach. I wanted to take them to a place I knew they would not be disappointed. So I took them to Bovines. Not one of them was disappointed and one for the ladies is very finicky. The only problem we had was when we first came in, we ask for a place for six. The girl with the short hair was so nice & said no problem. The older lady with the longer hair was very rude to her & us. She was not a people person at all & did not need to be greeting guest. But I still love Bovines in spite of her. Our visit was Sept 8th, 2007. Thanks Linda

I had such high expectations after reading the reviews, but was very dissapointed. I ordered one of their specials - a mix of pan seared chicken, salmon and shrimp. The shrimp was ok (though there were only about 3 on the plate), the salmon was a bit dry, and the chicken was so dry and overcooked I couldn't eat it. Maybe I shouldn't have gotten one of the specials, but I would think at a good restaurant ALL the dishes would be good. In fairness, though, my husband loved his shrimp gumbo, though he also couldn't eat my chicken. I will give this restaurant one more chance but next time will not get one of their specials. Besides the meal, we liked everything else.

My husband and I visited the Bovine's in October 2006. We were driving past and I saw the wood fired pizza sign. I had been craving wood fired pizza so we turned around and I was so glad we did. While I am not a typical pizza lover, I do enjoy nontraditional toppings and the thin crispy crust of wood fired pizza. It was delicious. We are returning to Litchfield golf and beach resort next week and we will also be turning to Bovines. WONDERFUL WONDERFUL WONDERFUL

Based upon the reviews on this website, my wife and I decided to try Bovines. The reviews were right on the money. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We got there early to avoid the crowds. My wife had a New York Sirloin and I had the baby back ribs. Both were excellent. The sirloin was cooked just as my wife requested and my ribs were so tender that they fell off the bone. I highly concur with the other reviews and recommend this restaurant.

Last week was our fourth visit to Bovines since we moved to Myrtle Beach A friend was visiting, and my husband and I took him to dinner. Bovines was crowded, and the hostess was quick to point at that the only available table was next to a large group with many small children, so she wanted to let us know in advance it would be noisy. We appreciated that, and opted for 3 seats at the bar, and were promptly waited on by a very friendly bartender. The service was wonderful, the food was perfect, and I would recommend Bovines to visitors to this area. The shrimp and grits is superb, and so is the grouper. We try something different each time, and all meals have been delicious. One of the best restaurants in the area.

Although it was a bit of a drive for us from North Myrtle Beach where we stayed, Bovines was great! The food was delicious (I had the salmon, which was recommended by our server, and my boyfriend had the filet). The bread is also great. We enjoyed our dimly-lit, quiet table overlooking the water. Although we visited Bovines during the "down time" of the area, it would be worth the wait during busy times.

WOW! I can't beleve we wasted a vacation dinner out here. We traveled the hour from North MB, and had a reservation. We were promptly seated, but were told the bar was "backed up" so we waited 15 minuted for our drinks. Strangely they were warm. The blue rockies on my husbands beer bottle were white, instead of blue, indicated how warm they truly were. He then made the mistake of asking for a glass to pour his drink in. It never came. We ordered appetizers, after a very long wait and no attention from our waitress whatsover, our meals came- no appetizers! The steak did not come oscar style as ordered the pizza came with onions instead of peppers. It was really going badly. At this point we were appalled by our lack of service and totaly annoyed. My husband began kicking field goals to the manager, who did take over our table. He immediately got the topping for the steak and a new cold beer(the rockies were even blue on the bottle) and he finally got his glass to put it in. The pizza was taken off the bill, as for the appetizers, I would have really enjoyed a clam chowder, but wasn't in the mood to have it after all the nonsense. The appetizers were also removed from the bill. Overall, i was really excited about the menu diversity and value when i got there, but the service really killed that. The experience was enough to make me think twice about wasting the time to go to Bovine's again.

Great food and service.Much better than other Divine Group restaurants.Have eaten here several times(3 or 4) is the past 8 months.Had a large Christmas party here.Everyone in our very large party loved their food and everything was fresh and cooked perfectly which is difficult with 8-10 people ordering steaks, chicken, & seafood.I have tried both the salmon-so yummy- and the grouper-out of this world fresh and delicious.Salads are great.Steaks cooked perfectly.Management checks on each and every table and is very courteous and genuine about guests satisfaction with dining experiance.A+ for this place.

We found Bovine's last June when we were on our family vacation! We thought everything about Bovine's was wonderful!! We are looking forward to having dinner there again this June when we return. I have been going to Myrtle Beach since I was a little girl and had never been down to Murrell's Inlet until last year! WOW!! We found it the very first night and went back down to Murrell's Inlet every evening for dinner!! They are ALL unique places with fabulous seafood and steaks!!

We always eat at Bovines when we travel to MB for golf. We stay at Litchfield and it is convenient to our hotel, but we would travel an hour for the food. Super steaks, delicious spicy gumbo, to-die-for, wood fire oven pizzas and melt in your mouth seafood. Ask to sit near the windows and watch the local fauna fish for their suppers. Delightful! The service is always first class and the ambience is warm and homey. Not cheap, but worth every penny.

We come to MRB every year and must eat at Bovines a minimum of twice. Steaks are great but the one thing we must (the entire family 6) get is the meat loaf. It is the only restaurant I will order this dish and if you get it you will understand why! Service is excellent and the chef is marvelous. The appetizers are exceptional especially the quesadeas.

Really great steaks but portion of sides was small - my veg. medley was 1 slice of zucchini and yellow squash with a small piece of of broccoli and califlower. Prices were higher than what I saw advertised in different travel brochures - most entrees were mid to upper 20s. Quite a drive from north Myrtle Beach - almost 1 hour but being able to make reservations was great as our table was ready within minutes of our arrival.

We are becoming regulars. My wife loves the crab cakes and as she is a picky eater, we tend to go back to places where she gets a happy meal. For me, any place that calls itself a "steak house" should have at least one steak of Prime Grade. Bovine's has none. The steaks are not something meat eaters are going to write home about. They are good but not memorable. Last week, July 8th, I had an 8 oz lobster tail that was the best I have ever tasted and I have eaten lobster just about everywhere on the planet. We have reservations tonight (July 15)and I am hoping for a lobster.

My family and I go to Myrtle Beach at least 4 times a year for a week at a time. We eat at Bovine's at least twice with each trip. Their Carolina Oysters are to die for. My son is 4 and loves the fire grilled pizza. The steaks are wonderful and fixed to liking. It is a little loud in the restaurant and this is great for us, especially with a loud 4 year old. Prices are a little above average though, but worth it.

This restaurant made such an impact on me that even though it was 9 years ago here I am looking for more information on a "Class Act" Our dining experience was absolutely fantastic and the imagination behind some of the meal offerings was brilliant. We had chicken stuffed with cheese and spinach. (Plus others) TOP CLASS !!! On the night we stayed in we had wood fired Pizza, just from by the entrance of the restaurant. The pizza was mind blowing and better than any "Plastic" multiple. You Americans really must start learning what real food is about cos this place is just about as good as it gets and if was situated in the UK would be a sure fire hit with a capital "H" Do they have a Web site and do they want to open in England ????!!!!!

I went to Bovine's with a friend of mine and will definitely go back with my family next time we're in town. The food was fabulous. I got Carribean Crab Cakes. They were delicious. Their salad was great too. My friend got Southwestern grilled salmon. It was very good too. For me it was a little on the pricey side, but well worth it. I will take my family for sure because they have brick oven pizza which looked divine. My little ones will really go for that.

This place is a definite MUST for anybody who is in the general vicinity of Myrtle Beach. My mom had eaten at Bovines on several different occasions & raved about it. So when we got the opportunity to go there, we jumped at the chance. Bovines was everything we anticipated....and more! I had the bbq ribs & my husband had prime rib--AWESOME! The price was fair for the portion sizes & the food was piping hot! Yum! Our waitress was great, and was happy to get anything we needed. We are going back to Myrtle this summer, and are already planning to go there at least once during our visit.
