Restaurant is under new ownership/management. Black Thai is absolutely wonderful. The Chef is fabulous, and Servers are outstanding. The food is delicious and the ambience/atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and comfortable. I recommend this restaurant highly.

I'd heard a lot of great things about Black Thai and still do! My experience goes as follows: the place was totally empty when my date and I arrived. Initially, I must say the staff was extremely friendly and fast. The restaurant appeared to be clean and appropriate in most ways. However, two things I ordered were "out of stock". Both duck (which is absurd during dinner service at a Thai restaurant) and thin noodles. This meant me and my date both got a horrible, mushy version of the exact same thing but with slight variations in the sauce (one was sweet garlic and onion, one was spicy garlic and onion), and the meat we chose to go with our noodles and vegetables. The whole meal - from extremely overcooked chicken appetizers, to our watered down cocktails - was around $110 (with tip) and was 110% over priced! A meal like that can be bought in a box labeled "Amy's Organic Fill-in-the-blank" for four bucks at the Food Lion down the street. TOTALLY NEVER GOING BACK. Awful.

I did a search for a Thai restaurant in the area and gave this place the benefit of a doubt when I saw their online menu had english names for the entrees. Usually when I go to a good Thai place their menu is authentic using Thai descriptions for the food. I should have known then. This place was dirty and miskept. The window was lined with empty liquor bottles which made the place look cheap and dirty. After ordering my sister commented that the place smelled like cat litter. The menu was overly priced for the pathetic excuse for Thai food they serve. My kids refused to eat the meal...and they are good eaters. I question the pieces of grouper I supposabley ordered on my plate becuase they tasted like they were battered and fried to death two days ago before I was served them. The broccoli that was stir fried in was barely cooked and the sauces were watery. The satay was more like fried chicken on a stick. The waitress seemed fake and when I asked if a Thai person was in the back cooking she said there were two. My sister confimed this to be false when she got up to use the restroom and saw the only other person in the restaurant was some white guy sitting behind the bar and no one in the kitchen. I was with my two baby girls and my niece who is 4. When we recieved the bill I was shocked to see how much the bill was because of an added 18% gratuity for a party larger than five...which is ridiculous when this chic wants to count my baby girls as adults in a party...when we only ordered 3 courses...when we did leave a tip which was not the 18%...the waitress chased me down to my car and told me I was short on the bill. I told her I was not and there was a tip included. I also told her the food tasted like crap and the service wasn't much better. She took down my license and threaten to call the cops on me. IF YOU PEOPLE HONESTLY THINK THIS PLACE IS GOOD...you absolutely have no refined taste and must be close friends to the people that own this joint becuase this place STINKS with a capital S! DO NOT I SAY AGAIN DO NOT GO to BLACK THAI unless you just have money to burn and feel sorry for them. Restuarant Impossible needs to fix this joint up.

Worst and most expensive Thai food I ever had ! Place was impressive and very clean. Service was good but the food sucked. The $ does not justify to quality of food served. Very dissapionting experience.

After a recommenation from a visitor a few months ago, we tried this place instead of the nearby Bangkok House...what a DISAPPOINTMENT. We can only imagine that there is a new owner or chef??? A gluten-free request could not be accomodated (ignorance or laziness?), portions were small and the level of cleanliness was questionable.Take a walk around the corner for an authentic Thai experience...we know we will in future.

Our first time to vistit mytle beack we decided to dine at Black Thai.We were a party of 10 people. It took a little while to get the food, concidering that the place was packed and all their entrees are made fresh at your order even the soups.. Owww what can I say. it was amazing. We got a pot of Tom Yum Kung soup and it was so good the best i have ever had nice and spicy. Our entrees were so flavorful. The atmosphere was great. yes the place was neat and clean and the service was great. thank u black thai for a wounderful experience/

Went there for lunch with a friend, and we were both disappointed in the food. The rice seemed to be the main ingredient and the veggies and meat were almost nonexistent. Paid too much for all that rice.

Black Thai is one of the best Thai experiences I've ever had. The food has beem a little salty on occasion, and I did have to fight flies on our last visit, but I couldn't blame the flies, the food was great. Service is always wonderful.

This restaurant stands apart from any other thai restaurant we have dined at before. The atmospere is relaxing, the food has the most flavor, and the drinks are to die for. This is the stop to make when traveling to myrtle beach, sc.

Had lunch there and was very disappointed. The food was OK, but to be fair it was my first time eating Thai food. What really bothered me was that the entire place is dirty. The chair backs were sticky, the table had crusted food around the heater inserts. The bottles lining the windows for decor were very dusty. If that's they way the keep the public spaces, I don't want to see the kitchen. I would not recommend this place.
