Myself and my husband paid a visit to this restaurant after numerous people in my development had spoke about it on a few occasions. We must have come just after the dinner rush because there was hardly an available table. We were told to sit where wanted and right away one of the waitresses wiped down the table for us. In midst of everything both ladies had made us feel right at home, small talk, attentiveness. Working in the service industry myself, I was impressed to see the team work with only three people, the chef was cooking AND running the food as well! The food was amazing! I took the one armed wonder's ordered the ribs and chicken. They fell off the bone and just melted in my mouth. My husband ordered the stuffed lobster tail which our waitress Tiffany had suggested. Picture perfect if I do say so myself. We didn't need one to go box, I licked the bones clean. If I had to pick a few cons to the establishment, they would be better lighting and smaller portions so I have room for dessert! Great Job Black River Grill, you made top 10 in my book

This restaurant was empty for a reason. I should have turned around. Total rip off and when I expressed my opinion about the food I was looked at like I was crazy. Listen to your customers. Without them you wouldn't have a business.

I once wrote a nice review about this restaurant quite awhile ago. Because I commented about how good I thought this restaurant was, I feel compelled to re-cant my first comment. This restaurant is one of those inconsistent ones that if you're lucky, you might get a good meal, but they seem to be consistently bad. We've gone to this restaurant numerous times, and I have to say it has gone down hill tremendously. We just went there for lunch and we all got burgers. They were AWFUL. All of them were overcooked to the point they were charred. We all said we'd "try them one more time" but they obviously failed. We're local "foodies" so Black River Grill is OFF our list.

We are also locals, and have been to the restaurant many times. We never had any problems until the last 3 times. I have had horrible food during our last 3 visits, and why we went back the other 2 times is beyond me. We gave them adequate chances to see if we just happen to go on a "bad" night and it was a fluke.........well, to be poor consistently 3 times in a row.....no fluke. They just suck! By the way, I am NOT an ex-employee. It seems to me that maybe the owner himself is posting good reviews to cover up the fact that he's received poor ones.

The Black River Grill is a treasure everyone should find. What a wonderful dining experience. After reading the "Fork You" (Ashley) reviews of this restaurant we decided to give it a go. Wow! Ashley got it right when she said if she could she would give it a thousand forks up. The clam bellies alone will keep you coming back. Pretty much have experienced all of the seafood and have yet to have a bad experience. Thanks Ashley.

We are locals and used to regulars to this place, but no more. There has been an obvious and dramatic decline in the food at this place over the past year. Had some issues with our meal a couple of times, and gave the owner / chef chances (twice) to remedy it, but he REFUSED. He should not be so arrogant to not know when his food isn't cooked properly. When a steak is requested to be cooked at medium rare, and it comes out well done twice.....you have a problem! For 2 of your wait staff and other patrons to see this too.......you have a problem! When you are given another opportunity to undo the damage that's been done, and you choose not too.......you have a problem! When others have also seen a decline in your food.....you have a problem! We, along with many other locals, will not be going to your restaurant again.....and that's NOT a problem!

Do not waste your time or money. This place is NOT good what so ever. Service is so-so, but the food is HORRIBLE ! We complained to owner, Kirk or Kirt, who could of cared less. He said we didn't know what we were talking about. Never again!

Soooooo awsome! Ribeye wonderful. Grouper with fruit salsa and cajon spices wonderful! Burgers and pasta fabulous also. We were a group of 10. Everyone enjoyed their food very much. The service was also very good. Our server was very pleasant and the chef came out to chat with us. You should make this a must go to place.

My first and definately my LAST time at this place. Food was horrible. We had their fish special, and it was poor; especially for the price they charged. Don't waste your time.

First time we tried this restaurant. The food was very good. We had their early bird specials. Prices were fair. Overall a pleasant experience. My one and only complaint was our waiter. The restaurant wasn't that busy at all, and he forgot quite a few things and had to ask someone else to refil our water twice. He brought our apps and entrees but never saw him again until he dropped off our check. I would go back, but would ask for a different server.

Love the food at this place and will continue to go. There is one male waiter (won't divulge his name) but is absolutely horrible. He never checks back with you on your meals and seems to disappear throughout the entire night. Food is awesome though, but bone up on your server skills. Learn how to talk to your customers.

We had a "girl's night out" here. The food was fantastic. We all had something different. I had the grilled chicken. My friends had a burger and seafood. The garlic smashed potatoes were great! We took three types of dessert home too. All for under $50. We are planning another night out this week!

We were the second couple to eat when this place opened. We go often and are never dissappointed, especially with the quality and presentation of the food. The prices for dinner are a little high ( on par with Bonefish Grille) and you don't have the nicer atmosphere and large bar but the food for lunch and dinner is great. The servers are attentive but spread a little thin.

My wife and I tried this place for the first time last week. We were pleasantly surprised. The menu selections are very good, more upscale than a typical chain, but very reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and attentive, not a long wait for the food. The atmosphere is good considering it used to be a mexican fast-food place. We will definitely return.

My husband and I have been to this little restaurant quite often. It's never been a disappointment yet with the food. My husband always gets their Black River burger and he claims it's the best he's ever had. I've tried a variety of sandwiches and other entrees and I'm very picky, but it's been consistently delicious.

I had shrimp alfredo. The alfredo was $10. The added shrimp was $6. The alfredo consisted of simple ravioli noodles and sauce-little seasoning, no added vegetables. For the $6, I got 6 medium shrimp. For Italian, Carraba's is much better and cheaper. I don't know about there other items, but the alfredo is not worth the money. I won't be going back. Sorry.

The outstanding quality and quantity of the food is above all other restaurants in the area that I have eaten at. From the Portabella Mush. sandwhich, jalopena poppers(crab stuffed) to the Black River chicken dish and especially the crab cakes, this restaurant is far above the rest. The prices with the serving size is the best value around!! Then there is the coconut shrimp, stuffed shrimp(crab) and best of all of the apps is the crab dip!!

This restaurant had great food and service. We had stuffed shrimp, coconut shrimp, spinach and artichoke dip and key lime pie on one visit and on another visit we had a lobster sandwich (the best I ever had) and grilled chicken sandwich. Everything was great and we will be returning.
