Since 2003 this has been a stop for my golf trips as well as my family vacations. Courteous staff, fresh food properly prepared and a variety that should suit almost eveyone. Benny is great and appreciates the repeaters to his establishment. Stuffed finger peppers as an appetizer when on the chalkboard is a must. Never been disappointed with an entree in 10 years. Tiramisu is a great close to the meal for the dessert lovers.Bravo!!!

We discovered Benny Rappas 5 years ago, and have been coming back ever since. The food is wonderful and the chef will accomodate your requests. The staff has always been warm and friendly. The anti pasta salad for 2 will serve more, and I usually get a take home box for my entree

First time dining here, will not be our last! The food was fantastic we all had different dishes and got to taste each others. Our server Donna was great, very attentive to all of our needs she even sang happy birthday to me. I felt like I was having Sunday dinner at my grandmothers. Will go back next time I'm I'm town.

Husabnd and I were in Myrtle Beach last year 2011 and plan on going again this Sept. A doctor I visited while there recommended this Resturant and we loved it, it was such a joy to find great Italian food outside of New York which is very rare but then again Benny is from upsate New York and knows about good food. We had our 11th wedding anniversary dinner there during our stay and went back a few nights later, the service, the food, the drinks and the wine, no need to say more, it is a must go to when in North Myrtle Beach.

My husband and I ate at Bennys last night. We have been there 5 or 6 times in the past 5 years. We always thought it was very good although a bit pricey. Last night I ordered the Scallop Puttanesca and my husband had Shrimp Casino. A puttanesca sauce should be a tomato based sauce and a bit spicy. My entree had the very same sauce as my husbands, which was a white wine and butter sauce. I only had 6 medium size scallops and a small amount of pasta. I think it was $27. My husband only had 3 large shrimp and I don't mean jumbo at all, the stuffing in his shrimp was a very bland bread crumb stuffing and a small amount of pasta. His entree was $30! I think it is way to pricey for what we got. We could have gotten both entrees at Olive Garden for $30, and not have to pay for the bread. Think we will stick with Olive Garden.

I have been to Benny Rappas three times including this weekend. I had the pleasure this weekend of bringing two friends with us to Myrtle and looked forward to introducing them to this restaurant. I cannot say enough. Our waitress Kim was super, and absolutely made the experience perfect and fun. The menu and food selections were awesome and all prepared perfectly. My wife even ventured out and asked them to create something a bit different than on the menu, and it was better than expected. Benny made a Shrimp, Scallop Fra Diavolo dish that was most impressive. The Pork Chop over Rissoto and veal dishes were excellent. They lived up to and exceeded the billing that I gave to our friends ahead of time. Everything was perfect and the thought they put into the little things is noticed. An certain MUST GO if you are in Myrte. Thank you

First I had the antipasta plate, no true Italien would eat it. My entree was the eggplant parmesan & spaghetti, the eggplant was like a leather shoe sole. When I told the waiter, he just shrugged his shoulders. I am never going back.

We were greatly disappointed at the menu selection. Our first time here will be our last also. The menu we were told changes daily and we were told that if we wanted soomething slightly different we could ask. Well, first everything was made with Red sauce.....What was I suppose to ask for....nothing appealed to us and even if I asked for a white sauce I don't think it would have been very tasty. The daily selection is very small so we ended up sharing an appetizer, I selected a spinach salad and my dinner partner had a sausage selection. Sorry but if I have to think of something for you to make I could stay home and cook it myself. Since I have no clue what else you make or how, it was impossible to ask you to make me something. No we won't be back and won't recommended you. I'm at home right now making us something to eat.

We have been going to this restaurant for almost 10 years. We have always been completely satisfied with our meals and service. The staff will gladly modify any entree to your liking at no additional charge. The servers are all wonderful especially our favorite Marina. Do not hesitate to to try this restaurant. Being Italian we have not found a better Italian restaurant in the MB area.

Three friends and I had lunch here yesterday and it was fabulous...the food(four different selections...lasagna, cod, chicken and eggplant) was outstanding, the server was pleasant and knowledgable about the menu and its preparation, the atmosphere was restful and the music just perfect. The desserts were delicious and we finished with lemoncello. It was a delightful outing and we shall return on our next visit to Myrtle Beach.

My husband and I dined here on Weds. 9/22/10. The service was excellent. The wine was excellent. The appetizer, homemade italian sausage stuffed peppers was superb. My husband loved his Osso Bucco and my lasagne was excellent! We could tell that everything was made from scratch and fresh ingredients. We will DEFINITELY go back this establishment!

Clean. Good wine list. John is a good bartender. No smoking. Great menu - check the blackboard. Bruschetta is delicious. We are not afraid to sit at the small bar - good service and usually no wait. Same with tables in the bar area. Owner aims to please - waitresses well trained. My wife and I like the ambiance and the cleanliness and good variety of fine food. Good stop when we come to M.B.

Do not listen to any bad reviews for this increadible little restaurant. You can't please everyone. So don't let a bad review cause you to miss out on a lifetime of dinning with Benny, his wife and wonderful staff. The food here is wonderful. You may never have a bad meal!!! They do amazing things with the simplest of foods. This is one of those quaint little spots you will return to at least once on every trip!!!! Very sincerely, David

After reading some of the reviews, I'm surprised at some of the negative ones. So here is the truth from a foodie: My hubby and I eat here several times a week when we come down to NC/SC. Not because it is convenient for us - we are 40 minutes away. We come because the owner, Benny, is a great, fun host and the chef (Ricardo) is fantastic - always willing to make anything special that is not on the menu (my hubby does this most of the time). The staff is friendly and accommodating as well. The place is small (read - cozy!) and yes, at times can be noisy especially when there is a large table of loud people (certainly no fault of the restaurant!) If you like chain restaurants - don't go! But if you appreciate a meal with fresh ingredients and want the feel of eating a VERY GOOD, homemade Italian meal - go - you will NOT be disappointed! p.s. This review is from someone that has eaten at many 5 star restaurants in major cities. The food is not "gourmet" at Benny's but CONSISTENTLY very good! Definitely one of our faves in Myrtle Beach.

The first time we had eaten here, we had a lovely dinner--a bit overpriced compared to other comparable restaurants, but the "blackboard" menu approach was unique. Well, we went back a few weeks later in June for a birthday dinner, and, boy, were we unpleasantly surprised. My husband is 6'5" and they sat us a the smallest table in the place next to a group of about 15 people. The people were so loud and kept getting up and bumping into my husband and I, as we were lucky enough to be seating right next to them on one side and the kitchen door on the other side. Children were running down the isles (very small space) and it was just a madhouse of activity. We could barely hear outselves speak, let alone enjoy the meal. frankly, the food wasn't that great, either, and the service was slow. When we asked for the remainders of our food to go because it was just such an unpleasant environment, the waitress informed us that "it's never quiet here in the summer--" No apology, just sorry about your luck. Needless to say, we will never eat there again. It was bad all the way around. Don't waste your time or money.

If your looking for quality and value, Benny Rappa's has it. Where else can you get "fresh" seafood with an italian flare prepared fresh per order on the Grand Strand. Warm and romantic italian atmosphere is also a plus. The owner is always there making sure everything is perfect. If you don't see something on the menu, just ask and they will make it for you. A place to eat every time we visit Myrtle Beach.

My wife and I made reservations to try out this restaurant and when we arrived, they had no record of the reservations. We finally were seated and the served acted as if he were doing us a favor in bringing our food to us. We were not told about specials, not offered drink refills, and not offered dessert. He brought the check, dropped it on the table and disappeared. The portions were small and the atmosphere was kitschy at best. We will NOT be back and have advised all of our friends and family to stay away.

Folks, If you want great Itilian food with a great atmosphere, try this resturant. The size of the resturant is very small and intimate. The owner is always working at the bar and keeping an eye on the establishment. The food is always served hot and taste great. The value is on par with other similiar resturants ($40 - $60 for two depending on how much wine you drink). The resturant wants you to get what you will enjoy to eat. If the item you want to eat is not on the menu, they will make it for you anyways. For example, I like chicken parm which isn't on the menu. However, I asked for it and they made it. I must say it is very tasty. Also, spring for the garlic bread loaf. Each loaf is $2.00 but is worth it. I highly recommend this place.

We're "old" regular customers of Benny Rappa's, who moved away from Little River, SC, 5 years ago. We traveled back from Florida & had the pleasure of dining at the trattoria with lifelong friends from our hometown in NJ, this past week. We all had fabulous meals & a great time. We felt completely at home. The service was excellent, as well. As for the noise level, I confess that we must have raised that a bit ourselves! We look forward to returning to NMB & Benny Rappa's in the near future.

My wife and I were seeking quality, "non-chain" Italian food, and this is what we found at this restaurant. I had chicken marsala and my wife had a "sampler" plate of the lasagna and eggplant parmesan. Both were very good, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking fresh homemade Italian food. The prices were typical for that which is normally paid at beach restaurants.

Yummy! In our party, we tried the Veal Alla Vodka and the Italian meatloaf...both were unreal. The portion size for the veal was enough that I had the rest for leftovers today. Calimari is the best, even my husband, the calimari-hater, chomped down on it. Only small disappointment was the Italian appetizer plate, and only because it wasn't what I was used to. We'll go again!!!

I have travelled all over the USA, and a fair amount of the world. There are only a few "Italian" places that stand out and Benny Rappas is one of them. Whenever I am in Myrtle Beach, I will eat with my golf buddies at least one night at Rappas. However, I do agree that there could be a little more pasta on the dishes, but the entree costs are way cheaper than DC. My only problem with the place is it's closeness to the highway. When I eat at a good restaurant, I don't like sirens and souped up cars screaming down the highway. Service has always been super in my 12+ times there.

My fiancee and I love food and this was our best meal we have ever had together. Don't beleive the other reviews if they were not positive because this place ROCKS. Best Italian, best meal at Myrtle Beach period. The Tiramisu is unbeliveable.

Not only is the food and atmosphere great the service is wonderful. We went back two nights in a row. The chicken in volka sauce is a special and if they are serving it be sure to try it. One more thing, Lauren is out of control beautiful!!!

My wife and I love quality food, and benny Rappas is high on our list. We vacation in Myrtle Beach every year, and Benny Rappa's wins hands down as our favorite spot. We never had a bad meal in five years.

I have been going to MB for 10 years now. I found Benny Rappas 5 years ago, and I wish I would have found it sooner. IT IS THE ONLY PLACE FOR ITALIAN FOOD IN MB. I have brought many friends and family there and everybody loves the food. Last year I had 19 people there for the day after Thanksgiving and everyone raved about the place. Although Benny wasn't there, he had his staff take care of us very well. P.S. Try the garlic bread, it's the best in the city.

Personally, the prices are way too high for the amount of food your receive. Pasta is only 99 cents a pound and you are lucky if you get a handful. However, the food is good and the atmosphere is ok. I am Italian myself and originally from New York, but just don't get it over there. Over all...I wouldn't go back.

I do not like Calamari...but Benna Rappas has the best calamari I have ever tasted! It is the only place I eat calamari. Try it...you will not be disappointed. My husband and I love the quaintness of this little place and the salads and dinners are always delicious, fresh, and served up in a timely manner.

We had special orders done by the cook and they were both fabulous! We have been back and send friends often. The restaurant is small in size so the tables are a bit close, but the service is better than anywhere in Myrtle Beach! The warm bread is to die for!

We were seated right away, treated great by the waitress, served excellent food (I ordered the Spinach & Walnut Ravioli Marinara), and listened to mesmerizing Italian music through the speakers. Portions were perfect size, too. Couldn't have been better.
