When I first started going to austins I had great food and service... Over the past few years it has diminished. Every year the prices go up and the portions get smaller and the service has gone to hell. They use to have young fresh and goodlooking waiters/waitresses now I dont even know what to say about it. I would never recommend this pplace after the catering even t that they charged out of the wazoo for and what we got in return did not match up. You pay for the name which isnt much anymore. What happened?????.

Austin's has moved to The Litchfield Inn right on the ocean. It is now called Ocean One, it is above Castaway's(I think) beach bar and grill. Austin's food has been first rate both times I have been there, once at the old place and once on the beach...great food and now a view that's hard to beat. We had a party of eight with one teenager that didn't see anything on the menu he liked(it's not really for kids), so the waitress got him a cheeseburger from the beach bar downstairs...If that's not service I don't know what is!! I am a very picky person and so were most of the people at my table. The only complaint I heard was that they gave too many lamb chops.

This restaurant has now closed. Bove's is the new place and while I have heard that it is excellent, I have not actually been there. I think that the chef from Austin's may have moved to Ocean's One which was fabulous last time I ate there . . . about a year ago. For those not familiar with the location, it might help to know that is above the Cabana Cafe.

I visit Pawleys Island every year and this was my first visit to Austins. I was blown away with the service. There were only two servers (A young man and woman) and together they managed the busy restaurant with ease. The chef is outstanding! Food tasted as great as it looked! My only concern... No computer system and no web site! It's 2008!

Fantastic place to dine! Great food and service! This is a must on your visit to Pawleys, but don't forget to make reservations. Open for dinner only. But they have another great spot at the Litchfield Inn for lunch!!

Relaxed yet elegant dining with fabulous selection of lowcountry dishes. Excellent service and presentation. Among the premier restaurants in this little seaside paradise.

Very disappointed. 2007 New Year's Eve Dinner at Austin's left a lot to be desired. Arrived early 6 PM & although only a few tables were occupied service was below average. Ordered & was charged for crab cake entree but served crab cake "appetizer". Server refused to adjust charge & had to ask hostess to correct. Ordered surf & turf ...1 lobster tail and 4 oz filet mignon $44 or 2 lobster tails $56. Wording on menu misleading. Was charged $56 for lobster tails & addt'l $14 for filet mignon..total $70 for one unimpressive entree with small amount of veggies and potatoes. .Questioned server who simply stated "that's what we charge." Ambiance o.k. nothing special. This was our second attempt at Austins. We were not pleased with food or service a few yrs ago but decided to give it a second try as we live locally. Our last experience has convinced us there will not be a third time. Previous reviews gushing with praise obviously was written by Austin family members & friends. This restaurant is over priced and definitely over rated. Mr. & Mrs. A. Bainbridge, 1466 Winged Foot Ct., Murrells Inlet, SC 29576

This place charges 5 star prices but is no better than a chain resturant. Our whole experience was terrible. I got sick that night and everthing from service to food and cocktails was bogus. Dont go to austins on the beach. Owner would not call me back to find out issues on an $800.00 evening and no credit would be considered for cold coffee at 12.00 a cup , cold food and overpriced wine. Waitress she really sour aswell and couldnt wait to get ride of us. This place is a rip off

I love this restaurant! The food is the best in Pawleys Island. The bread basket is to die for. There is a great wine selection and their house wine is wonderful. I picked this for my birthday and since I am a local, I know where to go. The seafood is awesome. I love this place, it is my favorite. I am never diappointed. Thanks.

One of the top restaurants in Pawleys Island. We took our children, who are used to eating in top restaurants in Europe and northeastern United States and they were very impressed. We all ordered seafood (surprise) so we don't know about the rest of the menu but it was excellent. Each person commented that their food was not only very good but presented in a unique way.

A great restaurant! "Down Home" service with first rate cuisine. I've had more expensive meals in major cities that didn't compare to this. The kitchen obviously cares about the quality of their food. Small but intimate space. Great wine list too. A pleasent surprise.

Visited July 1 2006 with a party of fifteen. At checkout there was much confusion. We had asked that the bill be split onto three credit cards. This was done but a $100 tip was added to each card even though the service was already included. Mistake? I don't think so.
