Once again, a wonderful experience with friends at the Aspen Grille. My friend started out with the warm Goat Cheese salad which she said was amazing, the salads were all fresh and beautifully presented. I had the small filet with corn and pea risotto, which melted in your mouth, we also had shrimp and grits, prepared Gluten free, and a special which was a small filet with shrimp and fingerling potatoes. Even the home made bread is served warm and is just delicious. We really didn't have room for dessert, but how could you not. One vanilla creme brulee, peach cobbler, and flourless chocolate cake. I love having dinner here, so many think the price is a little high, but you get what you pay for. One of the best restaurants on the Grand Strand.

I saw Aspen Grille on Beach TV and it looked interesting. From making the reservation to the hostess seating us to our waiter the experience was above and beyond. Nancy was very nice on the phone and helpful and remembered us when we arrived. Elliott our waiter was so helpful and knew the menu with wonderful recommendations . We were on vacation and I would recommend this restaurant to all my friends and anyone looking for an upscale restaurant our experience was excellent

On our last night in Myrtle Beach we chose Aspen Grill for dinner. What a TREAT!! Excellent in every respect. Dining at the beach can be a less than great experience but this place is a treasure. The hostess Nancy was stellar! She even brought my wife a black napkin to protect her black outfit. Our server Elliot was attentive, KNEW the food!, and made excellent choices. The steaks were perfection! The rest of the meal followed in that vein with every detail being better than the last. Our only regret was not having any room for the 10 layer cake which looked incredible. For chef inspired food this place can't be beaten. WOW! RECOMMEND!

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at the Aspen Grill. We have dined in all the great restaurants in the area and this one belongs at or near the top. The food was excellent. The fried green tomatoe's smothered with crab meat is a must. I had their scallops for the main course and they were awesome. We finished up with a fabulous piece of Key Line Pie.,one of the best I have ever had. The waiter, Elliott, kept us well informed about all the offerings of the restaurant, as well as, all the events that occur on a nightly basis. Live music was soft and delightful, which made the evening memorable. We shall return soon.

My husband and I are locals. He planned our 35th wedding anniversary and choose Aspen Grille because we have never been there. We were warmly greeted and were given a card to wish us a happy anniversary. We were surprised we were not offered a complimentary glass of champayne. My husband ordered steak and it was delicious. I ordered the crab cakes and they smelled and tasted so fishy, my stomach was in my throat. I then ordered veal marsala which was the worst veal marsala I have ever tasted. I ate a few bites of the veal and had the waitress put the rest in a to-go-box. We felt our waitress was trying to hurry us through our dinner when we wanted to take our time and enjoy our night. Our dinner cost us well over $100 with a glass of champayne and a glass of wine each. Our friends want us to go back for happy hour, but we will not return. There are many great restaurants in MB without returning to one less then mediocre.

Overall the nicest restaurant in Myrtle Beach that I have eaten. Considering the atmosphere, service and food our experience was great. Live music on Fridays. Food was excellant. Steaks were great. USDA Prime Grade beef does make a difference. Steak was a close second to NY Prime. Aspen Grille has more menu options and better atmosphere. Really enjoyed the experience. Even the teenagers in our party appreciated the level of service and quality. Will return again.

Took party of 8 people all of the dishes came with to much sauce their steaks had been cooked with garlic so there was no taste to the meat. It was very expensive for what was served and some of us had to wait whilst others in our party had been served also at the end they cleared plates whilst some had still not finished all round I would not recomend this place.

Went there last night based on a friend's recommendation. It was our last night in town and we wanted an excellent meal. The atmosphere was excellent and the food was above average. However, the service was the worst I have had in a long time. The hostess seated my wife and I at 5:55 pm and the waiter asked us for our drink selection at 6:05 and we ordered a bottle of wine. At 6:30 pm I sigmaled for the hostess and told her that I was still wainting for the wine. Other patrons had been seated next to us 10 minutes after we were seated and they already had drinks and their salads were presented before we got our wine. The hostess apologized and personally brought us our wine. Our waiter never apologized or commented on it at all. Also, I ordered lamb and he never asked me how I wanted it cooked. I prefer rare and it came out medium. This may be unfair to the restaurant as their servive may usually be better than this, but there are better plavces in MYR to eat.

I've never been to this restaurant, but I despise stupid transplants from the north who bitch about everything that is wrong with the south..... So, the crab cakes aren't like the ones up in Maryland.... IF IT IS SO GREAT THERE... take your ass back! We (excluding myself right now) have polite people that don't complain about other people's cultures... I don't go up north and bitch about how rude everyone is... hell! I don't have to, because every time I turn around, there is some dummy running their trap about how crappy the south is.... Like my grandmother used to say, don't let the door hit yah!

The MOST EXCELLENT choice that we made while celebrating our Wedding Anniversary in Myrtle Beach. Our choices were Thoroughbreds and Aspens - husband chose Aspens - much to my delight! The best thing was the "Starters" - a daily special crab dish that was incredible! Our dining experience there was the best that we have ever had in our 32 years together!! A little expensive, but well worth it! The hostess was awesome and ask for Frances, "Frank" or Eric - server in training for us. Frank was sophisticated for lack of a better word. You will NOT be disappointed, I promise. One Word....AMAZING!

There were 9 nof us--2 kids. 3 of us ordered the cedar plank salmon it smelled horrible- apparently the entire lot was bad. The owner was very nice and com,ped us 3 meals--and substitued without charge. My question--how do you serve 3 meals that smell bad at $24.00 a meal? the waiter was wonderful and could not be more accomodating. Would we go back? no for 7 adults and 3 children the price was $377.00 and that was minus 3 entrees that were taken off--and we were not charged for the substitute enrtrees. We also had appeys and dessert, however, for this price--weshould be able to say nothing bad.this place would never make it in nj this was a new york price with substantial food..

This my second visit to this restaurant after making a vow never to return after my initial visit (2006). The Tuesday night ‘special’ of prime rib influenced me to recant my orginial vow. The prime rib was excellent and prepared as ordered. The owners Angela & Joe Sutherland (effective Dec 2007) have made significant changes to ensure one’s dinning experience is a pleasant evening out. Angela or her co-hostess, Kathleen, stopped by our table frequently to inquire that all was satisfactory. Our waiter, Frank, was professional anticipating our needs without being intrusive or summoned. In spite of the upscale décor my companion and myself were welcomed even though we were dressed in casual attire. The menu is varied and included many of our favorite entrees. Can’t wait to try them. Will be entertaining out of town guests within a couple of weeks that also have an infinitive for prime rib at this restaurant. Arriving customers were steady during our dinner, it will be necessary to make advanced reservations as this restaurant is sure to be a hit in the future. When seated be prepared not to be rushed in order to enjoy good food, excellent cocktails and above average service.

I am admittedly quite critical of restaurants that claim to be "fine dining". Much to my delight, the Aspen Grille soared high above this distinction. While pricey, the food is excellent and worth the splurge. The menu variety is great. Our waitress and other servers were very attentive while not being overbearing. The ambience was beautiful. The wine list was very appealing.

When making the reservation, we were asked if we were celebrating anything. Waiting on our table was a card wishing us a happy anniversary. What a lovely touch!

My husband had a grouper oscar special, I had the filet mignon. Both dishes were superbly prepared and perfectly seasoned. For dessert we had a Godiva chocolate creme brulee. It was heaven.

I will absolutely return to the Aspen Grille and recommend it to friends and family. Myrtle Beach boasts a large number of fine dining opportunities. This restaurant is one of the few, in my opinion, that truly hits the mark.

Enjoy!

I was so impressed with the service, but the price left a lasting impression on the wallet. I was hoping for a great lobster and filet combo, but at the price of 59$, I knew i wouldn't be able to enjoy it, so I went with a filet and She Crab soup instead. The She crab soup was superb. But, I ordered a filet medium, it came rare, and had to go back They did make it right, but if you are looking for filet mignon with Bernaise, at 39$, it wasn't the best in MB. Thouroughbreads has them beat by value and flavor/consistancy of bernaise sauce. The rest of my party struggled to find a meal on the menu. My husband, struggling to keep the cost down, went for a roasted chicken that was very dry. Most of it came home and was not eaten. My son likes veal, but all the veal dishes on the menu were medallions, and he had commented that they were tough, he also did not finish his meal, and even opted to leave it behind. My husband and son both got beautiful salads topped with an edible orchid. The waitress actualy scrapes the crumds off the table after each course. This place was very classy, and high priced. Service was excellent. Much emphasis is placed on presentation, cleanliness and service.

One of friends ordered lamb chops and raved and I had two appetizers - the BEST Oysters Rockefeller I've ever had and beef tips, cooked to temperature (medium) and served with a sweet chipolte pepper sauce - wow! I highly reccomend this place.

While flipping through the local newspaper I noticed an ad for the Aspen's Early Bird Special allowing two to dine for $25. To qualify for the special, the couple must be seated before 5:30 pm. While the selections from the special Early Bird menu were somewhat limited, the food, the presentation and the service was excellent. My wife and I would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We had Valentine dinner at Aspen in 2007. The restaurant is under new ownership. The service is horrible. The waiter told us when he came to our table that he would go ahead and apologize so everything from this point on would be better. he food was horrible. 34.00 for a steak that I could not eat and was not fit o ake home tomy dog. One of our party ate one bite and said i wasn't fi o eat. We left here after paying 330.00 for meals that we couldn't eat. We left there and went to Miyabi and ordered sushi. Aspen Grill is under new ownership as of 11-2006. It's our favorite for a nice dinner for just the two of us or a fancy dinner with guests. The staff is awesome and the service is attentive but not intrusive. They do have early bird 2 for 1 dinners. The wine list is lovely and they have some real treats including really nice wines by the glass. The food is superb. There is attention to detail in each plate, whether it is an appetizer or the creme brulee or bananas foster. It's more upscale service and food than most restaurants along HWY 17 and I hope it stays that way. It's a real treasure.

Excellent food, terrible service... People smoking in the non-smoking area. High noise level ... Surly wait staff. Owner's wife (who is the hostess) does not know how to relate to people. Waited two hours for our dinner.

With over 1600 restaurants on the Grand Strand, why would I go back where I got terrible service? They lost 8 couples. Never again! ! !

My husband and I moved to South Carolina 2 years ago from Maryland, where the Narrows Inn is known for the best Crab Cake. We have found nobody in South Carolina comes close to a Maryland style crabcake. South Carolina Restaurants do not use jumbo lump crab meat, as many of them advertise. Instead, it is the shelly tiny morsels that come when you pick crabs. I'm sure some of these Restaurants even use the meat from the legs. The Aspen Grill waiter informed us that Crab Cakes were their signature dish. So, my husband ordered them (I have given up in this State - would rather make my own). I tasted my husbands dish and thought my whole body was going to shut down. The sauce on these crab cakes was so lousy I thought my heart would stop. I love food - can't think of one I simply can't eat until I think of the sauce on this crab cake. Linberger cheese? Can't figure. I prayed I would not be asked to try this dish again. Coming to the end of meal my husband says, "I just can't figure out what this taste is, can you try it again?" I took just one more tiny bite - Shockingly horrible - it had to be Linberger Cheese. I got lamb - so, so - I would not eat here again. If your car ever stops at this restaurant, I do not recommend these crab cakes - there is no word to describe how lousy this taste is. Kind of like the smell of a dirty dish rag. This taste could make you turn anorexic - Yick!

Recently visited this restaurant after hearing several positive recommendations. Took out town guest (England).

I found the food quite good, service was quite fine as the waitress was friendly and attempting to accommodate our party while having to deal with a table of less than socially acceptable patrons.

I found the noise level especially in the bar to be totally unacceptable for a restaurant: i.e. several TV's, music at a volume where conversation was difficult especially for an individual with a hearing problem. And smoke.

To advertise as an upscale restaurant patrons should be able to listen to the piano player without interference from a TV or Muzick.

Would I return? Probably not.

I know other restaurants in Myrtle Beach where good food, good service and low noise level make an evening out with friends more enjoyable.

Always enjoy the superb food, service and atmosphere of this fine restaurant.
Recently had dinner and experienced the most wonderful dinner music by one of the most prolific pianists I have ever heard.

He knows all the most pleasant songs and plays them beautifully.

The entire experience of Aspen Grill is one for everyone to enjoy.

My husband and I travel to Myrtle Beach 4 - 5 times a year. Each and every time Aspen Grille is a must. My husband declares it the best steak in Myrtle Beach and the staff is wonderful!
