Went back to Anthonys after not going for a while. It was as good as I remembered it. The pizza was awesome and my wifes pasta was huge and the red sauce was great, we ate it for lunch the next day. Im glad the original owners are back and we'll be back again. For sure.

We have eaten at Anthony's many times in the three years we have lived here. Recently we were very disappointed in the quality of the pizza. The crust appeared to be purchased rather than made from scratch. Upon inquiring, we learned the second partner who remained after they reopened, was no longer there. He must have been the pizza maker because the pizza we were served could have come out of a box. It was very bland and the crust was flat and tasteless. We hope that they remaining owner hires an experienced pizza maker soon.

We visit my parents in surfside beach ever summer. I had to talk them into going back to Anthony's they had not been since last summer when they had a terrible experience. SO HAPPY we went we were greeted with happy faces and the pizza delicious like we remembered from years ago. Was told change in ownership and original partners back. My parents will be regulars again and telling all their friends too!

We vacation in surfside beach every summer and know the INS and outs of the area. We ordered pizza to be delivered(as we had in many years before) and never got our order. We called 90 minutes after the ordered was placed and were informed "it would be there soon". That's fine with us as long as we are eating "soon". A half hour later we call for the where snouts of our order and we are told they are closed and then put on hold and hung up on. Now upset we call and ask to speak to a manager. After being placed on hold again we finally speak to someone who tells us they are under new management and our order is on the truck for delivery. It's been 3 hours since our order was placed and still no pizza. Why would we want to eat 3 hour old pizza and pay $50 for it? Do yourself a favor and call somebody else for pizza. We called dominos, not as tasty but they came 40 minutes later as expected.

we get there and order our food and the waitress doesn't bring us our house salads or our bread until after bringing us our meal and then asked if we still wanted it when it came with our meal. i mean hello duh we still want it. anyways we also didn't get any refills at all and the waitress was never there to check our meals and to make sure we were doing alright. we had to ask for our checks numerous times and she never came back to get our money we had to walk up to the bar and hand it to her ourselves. poor poor poor service and the bread was harder than a freakin brick and tasteless, couldn't even spread the butter on it. the calzone tasted alright for the first few bits then i felt like i was eatting puke, so i took my nieces alfredo which wasn't the best but way better than the calzone. if u want pizza i would totally chose papa john's over this place, if u want nice bread and salads and subs go to hometown, if u want calzones go to snappy tomato.

we were 3 adults that had 2 med. pizzas and 3 1ced teas. We had anchovies on both pizzas. The bill was 27.00 & some cents. I think as a local living in Murrells Inlet that 27.00 was way too much for what we got. If you think we will come back again you are wrong. We can get a large pizza at a gas station up the street from where we live for 8.00. The other owners always had a special going , 3 med. pizzas for 15.00. What happened to that. Do you think the locals will come back with your prices, i'm afraid not. You will be starving ,come winter. Also the anchovies were 1.65 per pizza. We usually get at least 1 topping free at other places.

Tonight my girlfriend Ashley and I decided to go to Anthony's Pizza based on the reviews on this site...so we decided to add our own review: The owner of the joint slapped me and then started cussing in German, my girlfriend started yelling at him in Swahili and then they hugged- which was really awkward. However, I must say the juggling seals were a nice touch and a perfect way to end the evening. Actually, it was pretty ok, nothing above and beyond. 7/10

We have been going to Anthony's since moving here from Va seven years. Our neighbors used to operate it then sold their interest back two years ago to the original owner. Over all it has slipped somewhat since the change in management. It depends on who is cooking on the night you are there. The servers have turned over except for one and the new help are "no help"! Overall, we have only been dissappointed twice out of about about thirty visits.

I dont know what happenend to Anthony's but they have gone way down hill! There pizza used to be awesome, but now its aweful! The last time my family was there, I ordered pasta with alfredo sauce and when I recieved it, I could hardly even see the alfredo sauce, not even enough to wrap the pasta around. When I mentioned this to the waitress, she just shrugged her shoulders and moved on.... Being a local, my family used to come here for pizza all the time....NOT ANYMORE!

Were from Canada and spent the first week of march in myrtle beach. After almost a full week of going to shows and sightseeing the second last day of our vacation we went on line and searched different restaurant's and found this site and buy the reviews that we seen we decided to try it well we were impressed we ordered a large white pizza (white=no tomato sauce) with red onion and marinated chicken. being from Canada where around ever corner there's a pizza pizza it was the best pizza we have ever had. the server was lori and she was very nice and service was fast the owner came out after our pizza and gave us an Italian pastry treat i can't remember the name he offered it to other tables as well we recommend Anthony's Pizza & Pan Pasta with 2 thumbs up's..

Just a ripoff, lived here 15 years, from ny most of these restaurants think every customer is a "tourist" i've seen many places go out of business with that atitude, I realize they have a "dumb" workforce to choose from, you better teach them how to deal with your customers, or you'll be cooking for someone else's place! too "pricy" food not that good .

I, and my friends never understood the raves about this place. The only thing I would eat there is a pizza, and only IN the restaurant, if I had no other choice. Do not EVER order a pizza for delivery ...we live right across the street and ALWAYS had to call 2 or 3 times, to 'eventually' get the rubbery, cold thing after many calls and unexplainable confusion. Before we knew about the quality of the food - I orderd eggplant parm, it was breaded and served - - UNcooked...the chicken parm is hard crusty strips of (fast food chicken fingers?) hiding under five inches of cheese slathered over it. Watery, awful sauce...and I think they just don't care or 'get it'.

Don't waist your time. We live in Garden City SC takes about 15 minutes for us to drive to Anthony's and the times we had gone (friends talk us into it) we have had little to no contact with the waitstaff as they spent more time talking to each other or friends they had sitting at the bar. Our food order has never been correct yet.

We order delivery 3 times. The first time it was ok. The second time they never delievered the food we called our order in at 7:30 PM we called back 4 times each time we were told that our food was on the way. The last call we made was at 9:45 PM asking who was delievering our food and were told it had been and the driver was back. We then spoke to someone who claimed they delievered the food and they did not even know were they delievered it. The last time we ordered we did so to give them a chance, everyone has bad days. On the third and last time we ordered we recieved the wrong food and were charged for what we ordered. Our order was for 3 large pizzas, garlic knots, a salad and fried mushrooms, we received 3 small (looked like personal size pizzas) one salad and 3 empty boxes. We will never order or visit again. Not to accuse anyone but it looked like someone eat the food they were to deliever on both the last to orders we made.

Anthony's has really gone downhill in the past few years. I was there yesterday and I first noticed how dirty the floor was (gum stuck on carpet for example) along with the cobwebs hanging from the antiques on the wall. We ordered a pitcher of beer and it took over 10 minutes to get that. They had to change the keg (only one other couple in the restaurant at the time besides us. We gave our order and about15 minutes later our waiter came over to inform us that he would be right back, he had to run next door. What? He returns 10 minutes later with bags of frozen chicken from Food Lion. Then he, the cook, and another waitress stood there discussing the purchase right in front of us. After another 20 or so minutes we finally get our food and the breaded overcooked chicken on the 'BBQ' pizza was served. It was pretty bad!! There was no BBQ sauce on the chicken, just drizzled on the pizza. Oh, and the one waitress kept swooshing by singing to the awful music that was playing. Very Unprofessional place! We will never eat there again.

What a horrible place, after getting drinks we sat for a half hour watching other people get their meals, told the waitress she said "oh your order got misplaced" sat there for another 20 minutes and finally left. Dont know why we went back anyway, the previous time we went the pizza was lousy, greasy and dripping with oil, blech. They must have their friends write the reviews on here.

As a local group, we can suggest trying this eatery. Food is constant in quality but service varies. Although service is not a problem, when Anthony's is busy you will have to "flag down" your server as they may be covering both ends of the restaurant at the same time. If you are looking for a good, New York style pizza, this is as close as you'll find. The pasta dishes are plentiful, but the pasta is ALWAYS somewhat over-done and soft as the noodles are pre-cooked then warmed to fill an order. Asking for pasta that is more on the "chewy" side rather than the pasty side has never been complied with...any server will tell you that because pasta is pre-cooked, ALL pasta dishes come out the same way. Too bad, because the combinations of pasta dishes are almost uncountable! Definitely worth the try, but if you can avoid the dinner hour rush, you'd be better off...the wait can be VERY long and locals are not offered any special seating considerations. Pizza has a tendency to be slightly over baked so if you like your pie less cooked, let your server know in advance.

Like pizza New York style? Want it square (1/2 pie) or rectangular (rull pie). Anthony's make the best of either type, and their pasta dishes are excellent too. Try the Pizza pasta dish- amazing! Garlic knots are the best, and even a half order is plentiful. Truly great pizza, and good service. Can be noisy, but hey, shouldn't a good restaurant be full and loud?

My wife and I are "snowbirds" and have been reading the reviews and trying out various restaurants. We have been looking for a good pizza and read all of your reviews, all favorable!

We had the small veggie pizza with adult beverage. The pizza was just as we like it, thin and the crust was cooked through not soggy or uncooked.

We are going to make this place a regular stop. We have told all of our condo residents about you. Great place.

Upon relocating to South Carolina from New Haven, CT, we could not find a REAL Italian style pizza anywhere in this state--that is, until we found Anthony's. PERFECT pizza -- thin crust, fabulous sauce, never greasy or limp. We won't eat pizza anywhere else -- considering our families owned Italian bakeries and homemade macaroni stores in CT, that's saying something. If it weren't for Anthony's, we'd never eat pizza until we visited the northeast again.
