Review: Reading these reviews one can only wonder if some have been deleted - since the new "management" has taken over this resturant has been taken off my favorite places - been eating here for years while Joe ran the place - now that these new people are here who state they are the owners BUT they arent they are leasing the place AS they LEASED the Plantation Pancake House - leased the business that is but I can see why noone will sell outright to them - who wants to hear the F word out of a owners mouth every other word or watch the kitchen staff and waitstaff make out in the corner - not to mention the girlfriend of the manager - she gives new meaning to meaness I do not think she has any previous business experince as when I brought up the employees sucking face in the restaurant her response was Oh well they aren't hurting anyone - no just your business I do hope the rumors are true that Joe is taking the place back before it gets the reputation it had when he tried to sell it a few years back - I for one will never go back while this management is there but this will get deleted as soon as someone sees it so not many will get to read this - I happen to know at least 2 others that have already been deleted

Review: My husband introduced me to Akels on my first trip to Myrtle Beach in 2005. We will be in Myrtle Beach in about 11 days and I cannot wait to eat breakfast there! Everyone is so friendly and the food is wonderful!

Review: Although the food is good, the dishes that the food is served on, as well as the decor, need an overhaul. It's time for the owners to step up and replace the dishes first, and then the decor. I would go again if the atmosphere wasn't such a turnoff. It can't cost too much to replace restaurant dishes. They really need to clean the place up and make Myrtle Beach proud. They have an excellent location.

Review: Great home town restaurant. Will visit again this summer while on vacation. Reasonable prices, great food! They make you feel like family!

Review: Over the years so many changes have taken place in Myrtle Beach. With the exception of one, Akels restaurant. It is one of the reasons my family continues to return. Akels is a mainstay for many reasons. Great breakfasts with a real "down home" flavor from the employees to the local customers. For me, it's like coming home.
