Review: I would urge everybody familiar with Pawleys Island and this restaurant location to give this one a try. I think after 20 years of inconsistent food establishments this time they may have actually got it right. I had the best sirloin steak I have ever had at this restaurant. The music and atmosphere were fabulous. I hope this place sticks around.

Review: We went on 'name your own prime rib' night (Mondays) which I knew nothing about before getting there. It's a great deal ($1 an oz.) for prime rib cooked to perfection. I 'bit' on the feature and got the prime rib and I wasn't disappointed. My wife got the ribeye which the server recommended. Our server (Sabrina) was knowledgeable and efficient and was right about the ribeye. My wife's steak was cooked perfectly (rare). The meal included a cup of soup or salad and a side dish starch of either mashed potatoes or pasta for a very reasonable price. We both got the potatoes and we were very happy with it. We also prefaced the meal with Bruchetta which was excellent. I highly recommend this place if you want good food at an affordable price with a nice atmosphere. They boast 25 items for $15 or less!!! Wine selection is adequate and the dessert prices are very affordable! Great place with a great rustic feel to it. Very friendly staff!!

Review: We came upon this place by accident, while traveling. We were seated immediately, & our server Leslie was right on top of things, giving us immediate attention & answering all our questions. We had the bruchetta as an appetizer, and it was the tastiest we've ever had. My husband & I ordered the filet, cooked medium. This is not as easy a task as would seem, given the thick cut of beef, but this was the juiciest, most tender, and delicious piece of bovine we've ever enjoyed. Leslie is an asset to the establishment, the food was the best - hands down. We will definately make this a regular stop when coming through town!

Review: My family, a group of eight visited this restaurant on a Tuesday night at the end of July. We were seated immediately and were welcomed by our server Heinz. Heinz was attentive to a fault, and new his business very well. The Food was definitely above average in both quality and quantity. I had the fried calamari as an appetizer, and was very happy with how it was done. The evening we were there, the restaurant was practically empty. I would definitely recommend a visit to this restaurant to anyone interested in a quality meal, especially a quality Italian meal.

Review: We had a party of 10 and I was highly annoyed at first because they sat us in the bar section. However, once we found out it was entirely non-smoking we were fine, it was actually nice for the kids to have the tv's and fishtank to look at. I would highly recommend this place! Its just fun and the food was great! I love the music and our servers were excellent. Me and my husband had questions about some wines and the HEAD CHEF came out to answer them! I thought that was really great of him to do that. Management was exceptionally friendly as well and gave my mother a free dessert for her birthday. We simply loved this place. If we come back to the beach next year we'll definately stop back in.

Review: I can't believe that someone wrote a negative review of this place. They must have come from other Pawleys Island Bar and Grills or something. There is nothing negative about this place at all. In fact, it's perfect. If you want a steak or pasta at a great price, with great music, a great staff, in a comfortable environment, then this is the place. Seriously, all the negative comments must have been written by some insecure Bar and Grill owner in Pawleys Island. 811 Steak and Pasta is the best in town. Bar none.

Review: We were on our back to Myrtle Beach after spending a day in Charleston and were looking for a nice place for dinner. We saw 811 from the highway and decided to chance it and stop there. We had never heard of 811 before and I have to say we were totally blown away. The atmosphere was comfortable but classy. The restaurant was also very clean. Our waiter was outstanding, helpful and very attentive without being over-bearing. But the high-light truly was the food. We started with Mozzarella Marinara and the fried calamari. Both were tasty and done to perfection. The salads were fresh and crisp with wonderful dressings. For our entrees we had the gnocchi, New York strip steak and the Chicken 811. All were simply delicious and perfectly prepared. We spent 5 days in the Grand Strand area and this was by far the best eating experience of our stay. The only down side is that we can't stop here on a regular basis. For those of you that are local, don't miss out on this great dining experience.

Review: I gave it a try one day, and was totally shocked. The inside is completely remodeled, and the music is fantastic. The wine list was something else, it had anything i could ask for. The service was hands down some of the nicest people in the food service, and they worked as a team. I ordered the mozzerella Maranara, and it was fresh cut mozz, not from a bag prebreaded. Then we ordered our meal. I got the bone in ribeye, and my other partner ordered the Osso Bucco, Both were out of this world. The Osso Bucco fell right off the bone, so tender. The ribeye had a nice crust on the outside and a beautiful cooked center. The salads had a nice marinated tomatoes, and a homemade dressing to compliment it with. The side i got was the fett alfredo and it was just as delightful as i pictured. I was to stuffed by the time i ate my meal, but still wanted desert. So i took home a slice of the cheesecake, and it was fantasic. i don't know why people are saying these bad things.

Review: My friend and I decided to try one of the newer restaurants in town and were terribly unhappy with the meal. Maybe it's a good restaurant for Pasta dishes, I don't know, but the beef is certainly terrible. Tough, terrible cuts for the price. Perhaps they should drop their beef entre's. SC Native

Review: All of these negative posts must be written by other restaurant owners in the area trying to put this great place out of business. I went to 811 recently and it was by far the best place in Pawleys Island, bar none. The food, service, decor and pricing was absolutely perfect. And I mean perfect. This is a must go for anyone in the area, local or tourist.

Review: Wow 811 steak and pasta is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at! Well first of all, when we walked in, I was thinking what a beautiful place it is. Decorated so nicely and it had a nice but relaxing vibe to it. The bar is amazing with big, flat-screen tv's and the great color wood that just matches the whole room. It's fine dining but without all the expensive meals. The food is honestly at a reasonable price but it is so delicious that you wouldn't believe that the prices would be so low! Everything is homemade. When I got there I knew I wanted the prime rib so that is what i ordered. i got my food (I didn't even wait long to get my food) and took the first bite I thought I was in heaven!! The meat was so tender and the au jus was awesome! I had pasta with red sauce as my side dish. The homemade sauce was excellent. Nobody should say anything bad about this place! You definately get the best bang for the buck!

Review: Finally a steakhouse in Pawleys that you can afford that actually has great food. Someone writing some of these reviews must have had a little too much wine. The Osso-Bucco was one of the best I have ever had and the seasoning on the steaks is "to die for"! My wife let me try a bite of her ribeye and it was outstanding. The sauce on the pasta must have come straight from Italy, you can tell that it's homemade. the best part is when we got the bill, ther was nothing on the menu over $20.00. with the economy the way it is we cant afford expensive restaurants. Great! Great! Great!

Review: This is hard to say because I like to see new business do well and everyone knows how much we need it here in this area but boy oh boy. Went there with my family last Friday night and it was the absolute worst dining experience any of us have ever had. Mainly the food was just terrible. The salad was soggy and the dressing was canned or bought definately not homemade. The steak I had was tough as shoe leather and real thin. It was a desperate attempt to pass off a inferior cut of meat. The pasta was a joke. Tomato sauce and noodles and the sauce was out of a can as well. I hate to say it but these people are probably not going to make it. Sorry folks it is what it is, horrible!

Review: Took my wfie there for her birthday and we were pretty excited because the calmari was outstanding and the salads are now the same a Pasteria 811. The the meal came, oh my God. One rib eye, 3/8" thick and before she could take a couple of bits it went from medium rare to well done. Poor meat selection must have run short and picked it up from Food Lion. Then my prime rib...poor again cut wise, ask for medium rare and the thing was gray in color which is a 100% tip off that the microwaved it before serving. What a shame, nice job on the place but you gotta have the food right. Entrees are very poor. Chef needs to go back to whatever they were doing before calling themselves a cook.

Review: The issue for us was not the service or the attitude or anything like that it was the food. My goodness, how can anyone present such terrible food and expect to get paid for it? I was going to refuse to pay my bill but my wife just wanted to pay and leave. I had a steak and it was ordered rare, came out med well to well. My wife ordered a pasta and it was just old and I do mean old noodles, they were hard with canned marinara poured over it. What a joke. I asked the server if this was for real and she said "afraid so" and walked off. Pawleys.

Review: I took my family there becasue they were in town and we wanted to try something new. Our server spent more time talking about how great he was, than he did filling drinks. The rest of his 3 table also had empty drinks. Our orders were wrong, steaks not cooked right. Salads were watery and the ranch was horrible, like the tomatoes on the salads. bread was burnt. The pasta was OK, I had a creamy tomato sauce and it was thebest thing they had. The restaurant smells like sewage and we were told that it always does. Did not see a manager the whole time we were there, and from what our server said, he pretty much runs the place. WE will not go back and have heard from several other locals they wont either. The bartender was rude, he acted like we bothered him and he was also rude to the servers. The hostess was trashy.

Review: I had a very similar experience as the previous post. I took my family against my wife's wishes by the way ( big mistake) and it was a really bad experience. The server was nice and fast but the food was horrible. The pasta is just noodles and marinara and the steak was not as advertised. It was a funny cut of meat almost like a roast cut for a steak. I chewed and chewed and finally gave up and spit it out. The server came by and ask if everything was alright and we told her no. She shrugged hung her head and said I just work here I cannot help it. I ask who could and she said probably no one I just need a job. Any way save your money and a good night out for somewhere else, this is a terrible restaurant. Savannah Ga.

Review: Wow! I had read some of the negative comments before going here with my family. We took 14 people and were expecting some value in terms of price and quality of food based on some of the positive reviews. I was very suspicious of a place called " Steak and Pasta" because if someone is this lost for a good name for a restaurant then they may be lost as to good food as well. Guess what? The food was terrible! I should have known better. My problem is that I tried to save a few bucks and I should have spent a few more dollare down the street. Live and learn. The steak was so bad three of us got it to go for our dogs. The pasta was the worst watered down crap I have ever saw. My wife just pushed it aside. The topper to the whole deal was the server took away our full plates of food and had the nerve to ask if everything was alright? I guess she was used to it. CS, Charlotte, NC.

Review: Not one person in our party of 7 would go back here. Local hangout? I don't think so. Serve a local instant tea and lose a customer. Since population runs in the 300's or so, they've likely run out of locals to disappoint. If you'll cut corners on something as simple as real tea chances are you don't care much about quality. Restaurant was mostly empty at 7pm, it took us over 3 hours to get out of there. They were out of 3 different items ordered. The beef orders were mixed up (medium was well, well was medium). The pasta was average at best and definitely not worth the money. Salads were watery with miserly dabs of dressing. All dishes were just bland and average. Nobody finished, not because of generous servings, but because nobody cared to. The kid's meal was just grocery store standard frozen chicken strips. Kid wouldn't eat them or the greasy fries.

Review: I am suprised by the comments because I am one of the hardest people to please. I went for the first time two weeks ago on a Sunday evening. The manager stoped by the table to introduce himself and check on service and quality of food. I had the Prime Rib, it was the best prime rib I have had in years. So I must say again... surprised w/ the comments. Great food and great service.. I will be back. I am debating my rehersal dinner there in September, so I pray they do well in Pawley's Island.

Review: This restaurant is absolutely fabulous! I spoke with both managers, Kevin and Jeff, (who were both as genuine and pleasant as anywhere I've ever been) and they informed me that the restaurant was completely non-smoking and has been for some time, so please do not be misled by previous entries. The atmosphere was the best on the entire south end. White tablecloths, Sinatra, wonderful homemade food, and excellent service. What more could you possibly ask for?

Review: What a surprise! We ate here when it first opened and the experience was just "OK". We gave it a second shot recently and we were blown away by the turn-around!!! The atmosphere is better, the food is much better (the filet was one of the best I've ever had!), and the service was ten times better!! The decor and atmoshere is fine dining but the prices are very casual. I dare say we have a new favorite spot in Pawleys! We still love Pastaria811 as well! Keep up the good work!
